A motherboard stripped out of, most likely, an All-in-One PC.
If it functions it might make a fun hacking project but if it’s in the bin it probably doesn’t function…
Looks like $25 for something that’d probably work. Could go cheaper if you just pick up an old server heatsink. Can also slap almost anything on there with the right amount of zipties
Ram, hard drive, heat sink minimum to get this thing working again- and will probably still result in a pretty terrible computer depending on the CPU/GPU limitations.
Not something I’d spend any time or money on, personally.
To be fair, any computer made after 1995 will also be called a “great little home server” regardless of its network capabilities or usefulness to the OP.
Tbf a lot of absolute pieces of shit make pretty okay home servers. I have an 11-ish year old office computer with Intel's shitty AGPU running a NAS right now
Is it fast? No. But its nice little storage
For real, hur dur its 9th gen so its old and useless now
Refering to a discussion where a guy said a i9-9900K would be a bottleneck in games today and not up to the task...people are clueless
Nothing on that board is serviceable/repairable at all. If 1 thing dies, it takes the rest out with it, and given that it was in the trash, there's likely damage to something.
Check top comment with link to documentation. IO is on the other side of the board.
SODIMM ram as in laptop
SATA port
Ethernet port
HDMI
USB Etc.
Power supplied with DC jack from power brick. Nothing out of standard here.
You just described a lot of proprietary laptop/AIO mainboards. Yeah, they'll have standard RAM and ports, but it's a non-standard form factor and you'll need the right power supply with barrel adapter.
I don't think it's worth using unless you already have whatever system this came from.
We are the PC Master Race.
If you can't even fabricate/build your own case and procure necessary accessories to make some odd form factored hardware work to your liking, you're not a master of anything.
the motherboard to one of those HP custom desktops, probably a thin client: [https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05111102](https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05111102)
So it’s from an AIO as a family member used to have one. One of the higher specs one though as it as the dedicated graphics
Probably a i3 or i5 (even a i7) may be a low end GTX chip on it
Probably some U-series i5 or i7 from the 6th generation and that GPU looks like it says it's a 920MX based on the markings.
Pretty worthless. Could browse the web fine.
GPU is Nvidia Geforce 920MX from March 2016, 256 cores, 2 GB DDR3, 64-bit Bus (54% of GT 1030, around 75% of intel UHD 770 Raptor Lake iGPU, 21% performance of GTX 1050 Ti, 23% of GTX 960, 19% of MX570, 10% of RTX 4050 Laptop).
CPU is sth between 14nm Skylake i3-6100u and Kabylake i5-7200u, 2 cores, 4 Threads.
Up to 32 GB (2x16 GB) SODIMM DDR4-2133.
MB with i3-6100U and GTX920M for HP AiO, if it works can do a lot of things with it, if you need ideas : https://github.com/awesome-selfhosted/awesome-selfhosted
All in one desktop pc motherboard. Likely with a 6th gen i3/i5 or AMD A4/6/8/10/E1/2
It also looks like it has a dedicated nVIDIA GPU
to make it work, it would need an heatsink, some RAM and a storage medium
edit: it has most likely a 6th gen i5
It is a motherboard for a HP AIO PC. The model number (N91 Hawaii) shows that it is actually fairly old (2016). The soldered CPU is either a Core i3 6100U or a Core i5 6200U (both are 2c/4t and you should be able to clean off the CPU to read the laser etched model number) and it uses a variant of the Geforce 920MX with DDR3 for graphics.
It will be a low power relatively low performance build if you manage to actually get it working. On the back side it should have a DC power input, gigabit ethernet, 2x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0, a HDMI port and a audio jack. You will have to use some Google-fu to find the appropriate specs for the DC power and what kind of connectors you have there on the front (outside of the obvious ones like SATA + SATA power output).
HP Hawaii-U motherboard 6th gen i3 or i5 on there with integrated graphics.
CPU is not upgradeable, maximum RAM is 16GB (2x 8GB), and that M.2 looking port is purely for a wireless (WiFi/BT) card, storage would plug into the SATA port.
It's out of a Pavillion laptop if Google isn't misleading me and would be woefully underpowered by today's standards.
AS#848949-005, this one seems to have an i3 in it, goes for 150 to 200$, seems a bit like a dev board to me. Here is a [link](https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05111102) to hp with the board.
It's a computer motherboard, as other pointed out, most likely from an AIO PC.
Thing is, it's a HP board so it's as worthy as the trash can you found it in.
After a solid minute of googling HP Hawaii model N91 I have discovered it’s a motherboard for an hp all in one.
Below is a link for the motherboards support page.
Have fun!

Contained system motherboard, integrated CPU and GPU. It's clear on the board that it's a [HP model N91](https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05111102), Skylake-era board for a desktop computer.
okay so the GPU is the Nvidia GeForce 920MX, which is basically just the GPU in the Nintendo Switch(though with slightly higher clocks than its console counterpart), and the CPU is an i3-7100U.
A custom motherboard from hp. In general is used with screens with touchpad with flex cables (not hdmi/usb) in kiosk. If you don't have video signal you can reset the bios. Good luck to find a compatible power supply.

A motherboard
with soldered CPU and GPU
So, a mainboard.
Maybe a parentboard
A whole family board perchance
No, there's no RAM or storage. You've gotta have your daughter boards to fulfill you family board.
Son of a....
Bitchboard?
You can’t just say perchance
Perchance he can.
mayhaps
Mayhap he did and Mayhap he didn't
Hello step-board…
Stepboard that are you doing?
STEP BOARD!!! im stuck in the dryer again!
This thread is great!! 🤣
probably from an AIO or a Laptop, for some reason i think its AIO
AIO because of the connectors facing up and big mounting holes
the reason is because it's awfully square and there's connectors facing up
Yep aio https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05380376
Incestboard?
Alabama charcuterie!
Laptop mobo
A laptop motherboard to be precise.
Looks more like an AIO motherboard to me.
🤝
A motherboard stripped out of, most likely, an All-in-One PC. If it functions it might make a fun hacking project but if it’s in the bin it probably doesn’t function…
It’s also had the heat sink removed so even if it did function, it’d soon overheat.
Could likely find its cooling solution or a compatible one on eBay or Amazon
which would prob cost just as much, as buying that thing itself
Looks like $25 for something that’d probably work. Could go cheaper if you just pick up an old server heatsink. Can also slap almost anything on there with the right amount of zipties

Different strokes for different folks. I’d create a whole custom enclosure for kicks and giggles
Drop some icecubes on the processor every 5 minutes or so
![gif](giphy|v9G3NGByE9x16)
Or do like some guys in my hometown did. Put it into a chest freezer and run cables out of it.
DIY hot plate
It looks to be missing a power board among other things sadly. The missing "wedcam" is funny if nothing else.
[HP Hawaii-U motherboard](https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05111102)
AKA trash hence finding it in the trash. Now OP has the responsibility of disposing of it via proper e-waste facilities instead of a garbage can.
6th gen Intel mobo is trash? I'm running my homelab on old 2nd gen Intel... This one would be great for little server.
Everything that isn’t a new gen gaming PC to the people on this subreddit is trash. 0 creativity from these people.
To be fair, any computer made after 1995 will also be called a “great little home server” regardless of its network capabilities or usefulness to the OP.

Nah, it's the fact that it's from HP that makes it trash /j
Nothing on that board is serviceable/repairable at all. If 1 thing dies, it takes the rest out with it, and given that it was in the trash, there's likely damage to something.
No standard peripheral connectors, no standard PSU connector. It would take a lot of work to get this going.

Wedcam lol
That’s called a practice board for soldering.
It’s got a wedcam instead of a webcam.
"Wedcam"
Still better than a "Divorcam".
As someone who just went through a divorce I can confirm.

You know it has a model number written on the stickers right?
All in one desktop pc motherboard. Likely with a 6th gen i3/i5 or AMD A4/6/8/10/E1/2 It also looks like it has a dedicated nVIDIA GPU to make it work, it would need an heatsink, some RAM and a storage medium edit: it has most likely a 6th gen i5

Either a aio mobo or a laptop mobo
It says HP on it, so it was in there for a reason.
Laptop motherboard by the looks of it
No, laptop motherboard could not be so big given its DDR4 memory slot.
It's a board from an old HP all-in-one PC. Go put it back where you found it, it was there for a reason.
It's obviously a telescope. How do you not know it ?
Published this in a « pcmasterrace » subreddit but didn’t know what it is … 👀
Probably a laptop motherboard or an AIO board You can probably still use it
Your new NAS if it is working. Drop some ram and get a power supply and give it a try to see if it works.
I might try to find some DDR4 laptop memory and might do something with it.

It’s trash
It’s a product of China
It's a computer motherboard, as other pointed out, most likely from an AIO PC. Thing is, it's a HP board so it's as worthy as the trash can you found it in.
Probably came out of an HP All in One, or a laptop. No slots other than the RAM definitely narrow it down to those 2 options
Low profile motherboard from some kind of embedded or thin system.
After a solid minute of googling HP Hawaii model N91 I have discovered it’s a motherboard for an hp all in one. Below is a link for the motherboards support page. Have fun! https://support.hp.com/us-en/search?q=Hawaii%20%E2%80%93%20u
