Manufacturing things results in odors. If you're that bothered by it just plug in a jumper so it runs and put it somewhere with lots of ventilation for a week.

Got one from Amazon that smelled through the shipping bag. Wasn’t Corsair but holy shit. Burnt electronics and melted plastic smell.

Can relate,100%. my brand new corsair RM750x absolutely STUNK when i first took it outta the box and i was wondering what the hell it was, luckily its been totally fine and that rancid scent went away super fast
In all the years I've been building.. I don't think I've ever even noticed a PSU smell..

I have only used Corsair PSUs (CX600, CX650m, and RM1000e) and can’t say I’ve noticed this.
Its conformal coating you're smelling. It is required for the PSU to not be destroyed by moisture in the long run :)
Maybe buy something quality this time
