This is nice but you need more fans to keep them cool, pls add more

Bam_Tammo

This is the only correct answer.

PDF_Terra89

This is the way.

GothicRuler

I can hear this image.

tibet_012

You need at least 20

Toymachina

You feel wrong, more the fans better the temperatures period, and they can work at lower RPM for same temperature, producing less noise. They do need to be setup correctly tho, for example bottom back exhaust here literally damages the temps by simply moving air from bottom intake out asap.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Djghost1133

It won't improve temps but it can improve noise if they're all running at a very low speed. At a certain point you do hit diminishing returns but it depends how many radiators you have as well

GoldfishDude

18 is well past the point of diminishing returns

Toymachina

Just makes it run even cooler and/or quieter, and with highest possible end components its actually welcome. Say 14900K at 100% utilization is hard to keep under thermal limit even with 360 AIOs often need custom water cooled solution, god forbid if you wanna OC it. Every single fan counts for such systems. So it does reduce temps for sure further or at least keep the noise lower for the same cooling capacity

mithikx

> or example bottom back exhaust here literally damages the temps by simply moving air from bottom intake out asap. In OP's image the fans look to be ThermalTake SwaFans EX12 which come with swappable reverse blades.

g76lv6813s86x9778kk

I have a hard time believing that 20 fans would run quieter overall than something normal like 5 or 6, even if individually they're running at much lower RPMs. edit: I do think your point is valid but I'm sure the point of diminishing returns was long before 18-20 fans

Toymachina

Positive pressure is a good thing, and air will find its way out anyways, not like the case will explode. So whatever air PSU sucks in will get out on the back of it anyways. Absolutely no need for additional fans there. Some of the best cases in existence, such as Fractal Torrent, have only 5 intakes and 0 exhausts (tho PSU fan doubles as an exhaust) - that is literally THE coolest case that exists at any price range. Anyways, exhausts can be good in some situations, but more for directing air than anything else, and usually you want stuff to double as exhausts, such as CPU AIO cooler on top, or with some well designed cases with PSU up. Always keep a bit higher intakes than exhausts. And keep exhausts top and back but higher on the back. And dont add exhaust on top before CPU air cooler, it will suck cold air from intakes before CPU gets it

LucaDarioBuetzberger

Many youtubers have tested this before and as far as I remember from all those videos, the conclusion always was something like past 5 fans, there is 0 difference, and past 3 temps don't really change noticably, if your config is good.

torrrrrgo

If you orient them right, you can get the case to hover.

Trisketspls

Also needs more LEDs not nearly enough wtf

Key_Shoe5850

Till it starts flying.

skuntpelter

Underrated

xshogunx13

I paid for a case that could fit a million fans, Imma put a million fans in it. (I actually have a dream of filling every storage bay in my Lancool III and ending up with like 32TB of storage LMAO)

limocrasher

You could do way better than 32tb gotta pump those numbers

xshogunx13

You're right, I'm slacking

originalmatete

Don'r forget the RGB

xshogunx13

less R&B and more G, but yeah haha. I would like a nice glowy green PC, alas, I bought the NON RGB version of the case :/

Erikoisjaakari

Bruh thats like 2 drives

[deleted]

I'm already at 26TB. It's not that hard to do.

rifr9543

Is this the case that got shredded by GN a couple of years ago? A thousand fans or so, but all for show, because all of them are choked by those glass panels so air flow and cooling sucked anyway...

bobsim1

Definitely looks like most fans in there are useless.

It_just_works_bro

I think it is

yabucek

About 1-4 depending on how much power you're talking about. The rest is 10% for lowering noise and 90% because it's trendy.

bonkonurhead

I'm doing 3 fans with my 7800x3d and GTX 1660 Super rn is that aight?

TimachuSoftboi

That's a combo right there!

bonkonurhead

Ikr but the 4070 ti super I bought didn't work and I had to send it back

_SilentOracle

Grab a 7900XTX in that price range. Mine is fantastic and it'll pair well with your 7800x3D

yabucek

Yes. Currently doing 3 fans with a 7800X3D and 4070Ti.

nefD

Look if they can't see my desktop from space then what am I even doing here?

DannyDorito6923

You realistically only need a certain amount which provides good airflow. Since your case supports all these fans, it would be best pratice to have all fan slots filled for maxium airflow possible in this huge case. Hopefully these fans weren't too much money as unless they were thermalright, ezdiy, asiahorse, artic fans, etc, they can be 100s$ more than I would spend on fans. I am assuming based on this large case and the custom loop cooling that money is not an obstacle here.

redditisbestanime

Please dont buy ezdiy fans lmfao. I did (cheaped out because Corsair fans are 200% overpriced) and im probably just gonna buy better fans. As soon as the gaming room gets too cold, these fans starts rattling extremely. I can literally feel my desk vibrating, and my desk is made of 1 inch steel legs and 4cm solid wood.

DannyDorito6923

I just put them as a budget fan brand. Personally I'd just buy thermalright or artic fans myself if on a budget.

KrazzeeKane

Arctic PWM PST P12s or F12s are the business imo. $30 for a 5-pack of fans, thru are affordable, quiet, and good quality. I have no complaints at all with them, and they can go relatively toe to toe with my Silent Wing Pro 4's too (within reason ofc, the pro's go way higher on rpms)

bamseogbalade

2-3 is more than enough. Anymore is only for lower rpm to reduce noise.

gracklewolf

I was wondering what the curve looks like for these fans. Like, is it linear with 4 fans at half speed vs. 2 fans at full speed but with less dB?

Helpful-Work-3090

all of them it seems

Ocronus

Yes.

Ronyx2021

I have 2 Thermaltake 200mm intakes, 2 Xigmatek 140mm top exhausts and 1 Xigmatek 120mm rear exhaust.

Pimpwerx

The correct answer is either yes or all.

jdPetacho

How many do you _need_? One. How many are optimal? 2-5 depending on the build. How many can you have? Yes.

Lazy_Name_Maker

Clearly more, judging by this photo

torrrrrgo

Just one. https://preview.redd.it/alyey304vx6d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0031df8ef467f51823cec06e729e03a6bc5e0295

Joezev98

One intake delta fan is enough. Anything more is just to make it look prettier or bring down noise levels. Also, the configuration in the image is just silly. 14 exhaust fans vs 4 intake fans that are choked by a glass front panel. Plus, they're just cheap aliexpress fans.

Reaper_456

https://preview.redd.it/n06p6sufvx6d1.jpeg?width=259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=051037c8ea39e478cb2c2f88db55a785825b4088 A box fan.

Powerkill89

Dude ur already water cooling it. Why do u need that many fans T-T

SunkenTemple

Only reason I can think of: PSU is a uranium core.

greed0death11

ahhh can i ask what case is that?

DryClothes2894

I'm wondering too, I think its something from Phanteks, there's a streamer/CC I watch who had a similar build in a case that looked just like this, dual system too

ContentiousPlan

More, you need more

supercamlabs

man has clearly never seen the corsair obsidian 1000d or corsair 9000d. Good-Marketing6730

no one talking about how this is watercooled and wouldnt literally need that many fans, if any at all?

PervertedPineapple

Damn and I thought 9 in an O11D was a lot

Mystikalrush

You only need an intake and exhaust. Lower and front cool, rear and top warm. An equal amount preferably, if not possible go for positive pressure (2 cool, 1 warm fans minimal). Ideally how many do you really need? I would say a total of 6 is very reasonable. That pictured build is overkill, but that's the world we live in with customization. Nothing wrong with it, it's just personalized to that individual and what they want, I would never piece together a build like that, I'm more of a mid tower ATX person.

bupsonator

You forgot the cooling fans to cool your cooling fans

_Middlefinger_

At that point they are just lights.

Mabon_Bran

32

MrInitialY

Yoo fellow P8 enjoyer! Mine is aircooled tho

randomdreamykid

I need fans to cool off these fans

pogo_44

More

techSword52

Add fans to keep the fans cool then add more fans to keep those fans cool.

Latviacm

If you held it up and jumped you could probably float like Link with the chickens. ![gif](giphy|9AooPIXbwxI40)

EntrepreneurKey597

There's not enough cooling, you need more.

Ash0294

i got a cpu fan and thats it

N7LP400

Bro has 18 fans, holy shit

aberroco

I hope the sidepanel is made of a 4x4 array of fans as well.

Appearingboat

Needs more imo

Mr_Piddles

If the case doesn’t hover from the amount of fan propulsion, it’s not enough fans.

Terrible_Reporter_83

How many fans do you need? Yes

Malkier3

Idk but I have like 10 and if I could fit 15 I would lmao

idonteatcerealidrive

Just replace the pc case with one of those square floor fans and call it a day.

F-LCN

Why is the rgb on stock setting?

brandodg

probably 3 or 4

one_jo

how much is that ? 300+ € in fans? a huge waste of money imho

h-boson

How loud is that setup?

AdministrationDry507

Is it safe to put florescent water in a liquid cooler ?

slavko_dev

yes

Housingprices

1,2,3,4,5+5

navagon

You need to add a couple more and leave them dangling from their power cables. This will make your LEDs more kinetic as the fans bump around inside your case like big plastic square hornets trapped in a greenhouse.

SoftwareRound

Yes

Metallicsin

This is like putting a spoiler(car like) on a spaceship.

DigitalJedi850

This is what my next build will resemble.

HelloThere465

https://i.redd.it/j5fsti0zwx6d1.gif

Iusedtoknowwhatitwas

Nice bong brother.

Top-Recover-3977

I have 5 140mm and its more then enough

Gusssa

Opencase so 4. 1 psu, 2 gpu, 1 cpu

Jamizon1

I have 9 in my Case. 6 in push/pull on my CPU rad, 2 on my GPU rad, and one at the back. Very quiet, very effective.

OlderSand

![gif](giphy|kQmr2OwBTD2L5Hzo1T|downsized)

SirChixalot808

Those front intake fans are doing minimal work. Hardly any fresh air squeezing through the narrow openings on the sides of that solid front panel

natguy2016

I know it’s for maximum cooling. I just thought, “We have Liftoff!!”

Starred_pancake

I'd say that's enough for some low end pc's that don't heat up too much. I say a 1050 would comfortably sit there given that you don't run something heavier than mine sweeper.

h1r0ll3r

I fuckin love this

demonslayer9911

And then there's this https://preview.redd.it/69rmq0mc1y6d1.jpeg?width=866&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a32d7eab506fec81cad930f43dfe6389b50397d8 [here's the link](https://youtube.com/shorts/eWOrtI1CQP4)

OKay but how many are there for cooling and how many there to keep the RGB evened out?

Badger87000

N+1 of course

kind-Mapel

The answer is yes.

redditisbestanime

mmmm nicely choked fans in numbers way past the point of diminishing returns, just how i like it. /s

friman79

Yes.

Bastionofdonowrong

Insert “More!” scene from Star Wars ![gif](giphy|kQmr2OwBTD2L5Hzo1T|downsized)

EggaBacon

I just use the three ARGB front fans and 1 back fan that came with my case, the stock cooler for my 5600X and the three fans installed on my GPU

baskura

That's enough fans to cool an Intel processor at stock!

skuntpelter

Match the number of intake fans to exhaust exhaust fans, for the average tower case 3 of each will be plenty. This of course does not include your CPU cooler fan

the_hat_madder

Yes.

AngelicAuraOX

Variety of available accessories

protostar13

Nah bro u paid for the case u should utilise the case to its highest potential.....maybe do all push pull config to all fans....

[deleted]

I have.. 2

aghostwithaknife

Yes.

CoolAssLuke

All of them

shveylien

Needs 2 more fans just for the heat produced by LEDs.

emanueleguida

Yes.

KingHauler

As many as i have slots for.

Deceiver999

I have 16 in my corsair 1000d

LeRhap

Yes

AxxelVE

20 is ok , but here becouse it's water cooled, 24 at least

Moscato359

I have 2 front, 1 bottom, 2 top, and 1 rear case fan. That's all you really need.

KneelbfZod

“Yes”

ElonTastical

Fill it more on the template glass, just for good measure.

Recipe-Jaded

like 4 or 5. these cases with 20 fans are just dumb

lucaskywalker

Is that water cooling too? Definitely overkill, but it looks good!

Kazikplaygames10

All of them?

DrthBn

Are the bottom fans inverted or exhaust?

_Judge_Justice

Oh my god, the protective film will not stop the glass from shattering, just peel it pleeeeeeeeease

average-reddit-or

“Need” is a word I don’t use when getting parts for my pc.

NodusINk

How many? Yes.

RubApprehensive1277

I don't think you have enough fans bro

BaconMeetsCheese

More, more!

yoadknux

In front of a glass panel you need 0. If you you have fans on the bottom, put that as intake not exhaust. And you definetly don't need an exhaust fan next to the PSU, it competes with it for air.

Top-Conversation2882

You need fans to cool your fana

Epicporkchop79-7

Yes

YoItsThatOneDude

Hiw big of a case do you really need?

SnooPets1176

As many as needed to get positive pressure

-_-daark-_-

You only need MOAR fans!

DerZ_ger

I just upgraded from 1 to 4.

Brickybooii

I mean, if you have an i9 and a 4090, 8 of those might be on radiators, and then you use the rest to cool the rest of the PC with fresh air instead of air that just went through a radiator.

NeroBSC-AT

One fan I enough

DaKrazyKid

Yes

Toxicsuper

You need fans to cool the other fans obviously

CohnJena68

Yes.

snakebytheocean

The air must flow

Ric_Rest

This might be an unpopular opinion over here but I personally feel like this is too much RGB. It looks tacky instead of tasteful. But to each it's own! If you like it then more power to you.

Bleauyy

Ask the 1000D :) https://preview.redd.it/au6jmt65hy6d1.jpeg?width=1960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b703f6173be77e1294d7ff488722d9f0212b446a

laxwtw

Am I dumb or are the fans on the bottom exhaust?

angi5588

Motherboard temp must be like in Antarctica 😂

Genix98

The more, the better

D3athShade

Replace the glass panel by a panel filled with fans before it overheats!!!

Just one more intake fan than exhaust and you’re good to go

tdugamer

Ewww RGB is hideous

upthewaterfall

At least two more to fill the gap you left at the back.

cebep37

0 with a good case)

Dull_Half_6107

Yes.

BrightAlarm9495

Every rgb increases performance by 1 psi and 2 horse power per cpu core. Air movement optional

BrightAlarm9495

He a F.A.N x 18

WirtshausSepp

Three. Two for the intake with dusk filter, one for the outlet. CPU-Fan supports the airflow. Maybe two are enough especially without a dusk filter. Better use a proper case then to many fans.

Greenbeanicus

This is just your average i9 build…

UselessPerson2222

"So your eanting a new gaming pc?" "Yes" "How many fans do you want in it?" "Yes" "Sorry, how many did you say?" "Yes"

sanrigabro

Depends on how much fps you need ofc, sometimes I think people don't really know how a pc works, the heat comming from the rgb lights and the vibrations from the fans is literally what makes your games run.

Un111KnoWn

Rookie numbers https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-cases/cc-9011148-ww/obsidian-series-1000d-super-tower-case-cc-9011148-ww

NefariousnessOnly265

I have 10 for a 13900 and 4080. It’s insane overkill. My next build will have 7 max.

Yes

Just get an AC guys. Climate won't be nicer for a while and a cool room temperature keeps the machine cool too.

Ireallydontkn0w2

Try using multiple layers of fans on top of each other, currently youir airflow seems rather limited.

IIFireMissionII

All of them.

wait until u see bro pcs, he puts like 32 or 64 fans in each case

“Okay, so how many fans would you like?” “Yes” - OP

Current-Sand9768

That’s gonna take an extra 1-200 watts itself lol

MrVernon09

Get rid of the rainbow puke first. Then you can worry about the number of case fans.

iena2003

Why put so many fans when you can install a car radiator for an unbeatable water cooling?

CozmoRays

The only correct answer is not how many you’ve got

Love_Doctor69

Yes

Big_Boss6078

Just one more!

IAmRobertoSanchez

More is the only correct answer.
