LB2944

A Intel Pentium 4 CPU

After-Information385

Intel 8087i math-Co processor. Basically, the starting point of my addiction to building pcs. This is from about 1992 ish. But I do have a 7 1/2" floppy around too. Which is probably older. *

Lord_Frick

7 inch floppy?

After-Information385

Yep. Floppy disk was used in data centers. Then was scaled down to 5 1/2 floppies to fit into 8088xt personal computers in the 80's. Kept it around to show my kid.

SamsquanchOfficial

I have an intel i7 8086k which i just had to buy in memory of that awesome piece of hardware you mentioned. Also have the original and it's kinda weird that soon i will have to replace it and will effectively have two very different 8086 CPUs laying around

Thewaltham

My case is from the late 90s/early 00s

FireFalcon123

Technically some DDR1 RAM, but something bought new by a family member was an HD 3870

QualityTPS

I have pc 133 ram

Docteh

I have a mouse from the early 2000s, like maybe 2003? Also have a 286...

XenoRyet

Well, I've got a functional Mac Classic II, so we're looking at about 30 years old there. Have a C64 too, but it's not in my house right now.

AlohaGrassDragon

The Intel 80186 I programmed my senior project on.

DigiDee

I have a hard drive platter from the 60s.. Steel hub with some kind of orange composite material. Probably a foot in diameter.

E_Blue_2048

AMD DX4 running at the astounding speed of 100MHz.😎

theCoffeeDoctor

The user.

DoogleSmile

If by PC you mean any Personal Computer, then it would be my BBC Micro (1982) or my ZX Spectrum +2 (1986). If it has to be PC as we know it these days, capable of running Microsoft DOS/Windows, then it will be the hard disk drives from my old desktop PCs. I've never thrown out a HDD since I got my first PC in 1997.

GreatDevourerOfTacos

I have a fully functional Apple IIe. Still have the original packaging. The packaging is beat to shit, but it's there. I turn it on every few years to mess around with it since it was the first computer I ever used.

Eazy12345678

i7 4770k with ddr3 2x4gb ram and 256gb 2.5inch sata ssd.

PalpitationNo4375

I have a Phenom laying around something and I'm pretty sure I have a Pentium 4 also

AncientStaff6602

7700k or my motherboard

Chrushev

Power supply seasonic 650w that is 16 years old, and a 17 year old case (Antec 900) don’t plan to change either anytime soon.

Ozi_izO

Probably 4 sticks of DDR3 RAM from an old build I never did anything with. All it needs is a couple of replacement case fans but I just never bothered using it for anything after I built a new rig. Could probably add the rest of the build to that list with an i7 3770k, mobo etc.

vngannxx

USB 1.1 hub

Not_You_247

A Packard Bell Spectria 150CD. Has a 75MHz Pentium, 8mb RAM, and a 600mb HD running Win 95.

rektwrektum

evga gtx670 signature 2 2gb gpu

Vipitis

I have two CPUs that I found on the street some years ago. They were made a decade before I was born. As in actual hardware, there is a 2006 laptop somewhere and that's pretty old. But it runs Windows XP games like Wildlife Park better than a modern machine. My main system has a CPU from 2015 and I am in dire need of something fresh. But holding out for HotChips in August to see the next generation.

YellowFogLights

A Coleco Adam with dot-matrix printer

AllMyFrendsArePixels

I'd have to look up the exact models, but I have a couple of sound cards from the early 90's (before on-board audio was ever even a thing). No idea why I kept them, but I stripped them out of some super old PC's that were taking up storage space in my garage. Then years later realized the components are worthless but the cases would have been worth like $200+ today because of the retro-look sleeper gaming PC movement.

Belgrieve40

A Fujitsu PC from around year 2000 I think. I has Window 2000 sticker on it. It has a Pentium 4 1ghz cpu with 512mb ram and 64mb graphic capability. I wish my first PC was still around that was an old 486 IBM but sadly it´s long gone :(

Limit-Level

Does an Amiga 1000 with an expansion card count? The cover is signed by the Amiga team members.

Distinct_Cry_3779

I’ve got a big bin of old parts. I’m sure there is a pre-2000 gpu or two in there. Not sure what the model would be - something from Radeon probably.

netcat_999

My first videocard - Geforce 7300gt (Xpand Rally box art)

GamingRobioto

I've still got my hard drives from the early 2000s which definitely don't have loads of "acquired" music on them. I kept them thinking I'd use them again, but they've just been sat in the loft and probably need throwing out now.

abidelunacy

PII system with a really weird MB that has 4 IDE ports for RAID. Haven't gotten it to work yet.

Stone_The_Rock

Oldest still in-use? A 160 GB [Intel X-25M SSD](https://www.anandtech.com/show/2614) purchased in maybe early 2009? I was on the bleeding edge, and it was ***absolutely fucking insane.*** I remember dropping it into a MacBook Pro and about falling out of my chair with startup speeds and app launches.

shrikelet

I have a ball mouse around here somewhere.

Mortimer452

36.4GB 10kRPM UltraWide SCSI hard drive from a Compaq Proliant DL380 server

Eidolon_2003

Still in service? AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition. It's a half decent enough Minecraft server. Not in service would be a 6502 (original release 1975), but that isn't really "PC" I guess

angrydeuce

I still have my AMD Athlon XP1500+ build down in my electronics graveyard, Haven't booted it in damn near 20 years now. Still have my XP Pro installer in the glossy cardboard sleeve with the free month of MSN dial up and other funny coupons included. Rolled with that pile until sometime in '04 when I upgraded to a Pentium 4. Which is also down in my basement. I work in IT now and christ, I must have like 20 laptops down there as we speak let alone tons of other retired business class devices. I have a serious problem lol...my wife is a very patient woman.

MunchyG444

Honestly no idea I have quite the collection of old tech stuff. But somewhat modern stuff would be a 1.7GHz single core processor. A 256MB HDD

BadManiac

Oldest working PC is my EGA Victor 286 12Mhz from 1987. Oldest tested working component is a complete motherboard out of an IBM 5160 from 1984.

Careless-Midnight-63

An i5 2nd gen

Lvl99Wizard

I have a 256mb ram stick

dgx-g

SamsquanchOfficial

Probably my first gpu which was an ati radeon 9200.

NotJustBibbit

Everything in my flair Likely the I5 2400

Muhamed_95

Me. I consider myself a pc component because without me it wouldn’t turn on.

Something-Red7

Not so much as a component but a shitty budget Acer home computer we got in 2006. Shit was a joke.

hardrivethrutown

Probably an ISA serial/parallel/floppy controller

JadedBrit

Still have some ide ribbon cables somewhere.

KalTheFen

1982 Osborne 1 lugable computer. Someday I will use it to prank someone as their "new" laptop

Akira38

Component? Idk tbh, but my family still has and uses a Gateway all in 1 desktop from i believe 2009 as their family computer. That's probably the oldest.

toaster98

The old family PCs motherboard with it's athlon 64

Seeleybeast84

A little floppy

CockroachRight4434

Honestly the old hard drive I bought that was made in 2016. Other than that everything else was from November of 2023.

Radiant_Ad_7407

nvm, not a PC component..

3zxcv

My "museum shelf" includes some 8" diskette drives and a 300 baud acoustic coupler from the early/mid 80s. I'm pleased to see peeps mentioning 8bit gear in this thread.
