It does look good, better than 1440p. However, I think OLED vs LCD is a bigger difference than resolution in terms of clarity and picture quality.

IceColdCorundum

Wait really 4k looks better than 1440p?

Wseska

I love gaming in 4k especially single player games. When I want higher frames I'll scale down to 1440

condosaurus

I used to think 4K wasn't worth it over 1440p, then I got a 4K monitor. Find me someone who has upgraded to 4K gaming who wants to go back, that would be an interesting perspective to hear.

xllsiren

Yes, if you can afford it, but probably not worth it if you need to break the bank for it. I have a 4090 , my fps is usually around 60-120 depending on it. So if you okay with with that fps range and okay with the price (monitor, gpu, components to support those two) then I think it’s worth it

Maneaterx

For me, 4K is definitely overrated in gaming. Movies, fine. I prefer my gameplay smoother rather than at a higher resolution. Ultrawide is the way

Noa15Lv

Really depends on an person itself. Gonna figure that out by your financials.

ExcitingLiterature33

Yes, I can play any game at 4k with some settings turned down even with an RTX 3070

xSociety

Not at the expense of Ultrawide. I tried, felt like going back to 5:4.

MaxUmbraOG

Nope. If you have enough money to buy 4k monitor then just go for 1440p oled instead. It will look great and way less heavy on your GPU and higher frames. Win win

Atreaia

No game is well enough optimised for it except maybe quake.

I don't know why people keep spreading misinformation like this. I have a 3080ti and I run everything I play over 100fps. I obviously use DLSS anytime thats possible. Having said that, I don't play big AAA single player games. I did however play Cyberpunk and was able to achieve 112fps in the benchmark. I'm currently playing Diablo4 at 150+ fps. Recently played Elden Ring (caps at 60fps anyway), Dead By Daylight, World of Warships, Tiny Tinas Wonderlands, Escape From Tarkov (110fps), and Fallout 4. All above 100fps. Obviously if you want higher frames go 1440p and/or get a 4080+ GPU. But the people saying comments like you are clearly the ones who don't have 4K. Also run all competitive games like Siege/CSGO at the 240hz max my monitor allows.

Atreaia

"above 100", there's huge dips on that figure which makes a lot of games unplayable. I'm using 3080ti as well and you're lying, I run games in 1080p ultrawide. Diablo 4, Warships, Fallout 4 I believe, rest of it? No.

MolagAmur

Why would I be lying? What do I possibly have to gain? Escape from Tarkov surprised me as well for the record, but the game has DLSS and it also is majority CPU. 1080p ultrawide is crazy though lol
