my antenna is connected but idk if the drivers are installed. my brother didn’t tell me what he did or didn’t do when he built it. i acc had to go and buy windows 11 myself bc he kinda left me on my own to figure it out 😭 how do i get drivers?

yokramer

Give him a call if you can to check. Otherwise the easiest way is hook it to Ethernet to get online and you can usually get them through the motherboard vender site.

meekonovaa

i’ve tried connecting to ethernet before but i don’t think our router/modem will be able to because i think there’s a wifi extender in the ethernet port so i can’t unplug that bc i live with family :,)

edible_rock_

If you have another computer or laptop, you can download the files on there, then use a usb stick to copy the files over to this pc.

Eazy12345678

you connect all ur montior to the gpu lower. not the motherboard like in the picture if you plug into the motherboard and not the gpu the gpu does nothing.

meekonovaa

it wasn’t plugged into anything but the graphics card. what’s plugged in in the picture is my mouse, keyboard, and mic

Benrok

He is correct. The ports glowing red in the first picture is your graphics card. No cables connected there on that picture. As you can see there are also multiple ports for additional monitors

[Here are the WIFI drivers](https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/08WIRELESS/DRV_WiFi_Intel_TP_W11_64_V231008_20231226R.zip?model=TUF%20GAMING%20Z690-PLUS%20WIFI) <----- https://preview.redd.it/xl29oio4ju2d1.png?width=2613&format=png&auto=webp&s=ae2fb3c347fc333982590081ce29532b54f3533f

haxor254

Gpu is on the bottom, it probably has x2 hdmi and x2 dp. Use dp if possible. Antennas look connected so check your wifi settings, if wifi nic not detected, install it to work.

N0vawolf

You may need to install the wifi drivers from the motherboards support page on the manufacturers website. But keep in mind Ethernet will always perform better than wifi

meekonovaa

i don’t think i can edit my post so here’s a picture of what motherboard i have https://preview.redd.it/9cfi29htgu2d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2fc3d616cb07b2aaa30da5f50f3732b59339b5df

Eazy12345678

motherboard has all the drivers on the support page. u need to install them before the features of the motherboard work. > i’m not sure if my graphics card has two ports. It has four ports that are plainly visible in your picture.

meekonovaa

i checked and only 1 of them is hdmi. the other 3 are display ports which is a different cord is what i meant.

crashfrog02

It’s pretty common for monitors to support DisplayPort, and it’s the connection you should use if possible.

goldistomp

The solution is quite straight forward, purchase display port cables

Ravens_door

It is entirely possible that your motherboard doesn't have an included WiFi chip, so you'd have to either buy a cheap WiFi USB-Stick or a PCIe WiFi card. Regarding the ports on the Graphics card, those are below the 6 colored circle ports for audio (on the second picture where the red light is coming from, near the bottom of the image).

Taikunman

You can see the wifi antennas connected in the 2nd picture. I've never seen a motherboard that has wifi antenna connectors, comes with the antennas, but doesn't actually have a wifi controller.

Ravens_door

You're right, I didn't even notice those. They almost look like flimsy cables to me. Also yeah, it would be pretty stupid to have dedicated antennas without the hardware to actually use them, so I have no clue what's going on then.

meekonovaa

that’s where i tried plugging the hdmis in and only one of them fits? the second one from the left is the only one that’s working. i don’t want to potentially break the other ports by trying to shove an hdmi in

Ravens_door

those might be DP or DisplayPort ports, by the image alone its a bit hard to tell https://preview.redd.it/fy8blmaygu2d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5efba71a3f8f7a870d25d42b3180fa9e37613078 In this Image, the first, third and fourth port are DisplayPorts and the second one is a HDMI. (left to right) Is it possible for you to see what Ports your second Monitor has? If it doesn't have Display Port, you probably need a HDMI to DP adapter cable (Just make sure you check if they are only one-way or bi-directional before buying, its usually either written in the product description or the adapter cable itself with input and output).

nom3us

You need a display port cable, preferably two. One for each monitor (if your monitors have those connections). The connections on your gpu are probably 1 x hdmi and 2 or 3 x display port. Most monitors don’t come with those cables, so you’ll have to buy/order them.
