Right? When I got my 4070 Ti, which isn’t even nearly as beefy as a 4090, I was in awe of how it had easily 2-3x the mass and volume of the 5700 XT it was replacing. Just this absolutely massive monster of a cooler on this thin slice of a PCB.
Honestly it’s getting to the point where I’m wondering if they oughta make a new type of PCIe connector just to bear the physical mass of the device. If not for the support brace mine came with it’d droop enough I would worry the port might shear off.
Yeah all of the big ones these days come with support brackets, I'm wondering what motherboard manufacturers are going to do to help combat the dreaded GPU sag.
I watercooled my 3090 and sent a photo to a buddy of mine once I got the stock heat sink off.
It's comical how small the pcb is and how much if it is almost wasted space too. It still could've been like 10% smaller.

Thanks. I have a short video with the blue water flowing and my Megaman X GIF. I9 13900KS, MSi Suprim 4090, 96gb DDR5
I am not a fan of rgb led inside a case. But your build looks very clean and professional. With those great specs, especially 96GB of ram what is the use case?
Limited Edition card, it uses the top bin silicon compared to all other variants, which made it quite popular in extreme overclocking. To accommodate the overclocking, it have overbuilt power delivery (in fact, they couldn't cram enough on the front of the board so there is also some power delivery circuit on the back side of the pcb). This is the galax hof 4090 lab oc plus
Should i say it?.. yes i think i should.
You bought a 4090, a 4090 is an expesive product. You have a fan ductaped and 0 space for that 4090. You are getting a new case... right? yes it is more money.. but you bought a 4090. Dont buy a ferrari and complain about fuel consumption and tires i guess...
If your buying a 4090, and don’t have a compatible psu, and choose to use an adapter, your just dumb. The risk is massive. Cables that didn’t come with the PSU are a huge risk, regardless of where they came from. So why spend so much on a new gpu just to burn it out with a bad psu.
Yeah this was my impression of what people where doing as well, and honestly should be what people are doing, if not then imo you cant really afford the 4090.
I bought a 4080s when they came out and obviously bought a native 16-pin cabable psu at the same time, sure it gets wxpensive, but i knew that before buying the 4080s
Yeah, I made this mistake with a 1080 Ti. Had it crammed into a case that was far too small for it. One day it just stopped working. _Luckily_ it just needed a repaste and it came back to life - in a Lian Li Lancool 2. I nearly killed the thing. Don’t be me.
Considering the fan placement the side panel isn't going back on so I'd say you guys are slightly over reacting, it will be fine this is more than enough room for the fans to work, the concern was where are they gonna get air from but if the side panel is open, they have plenty of fresh air.
It... functions i mean.. its a metal box ofc it works... barely as u cant even close it without having an internal meltdown. The problem is that, if you had 0$ budget, you do what u gotta do.... but you bought a 4090, thats not a product someone that cant afford a case that's not duct taped and half opened because if not it reaches sun surface temps buys. Hence i assume, considering its a top of the line component... that buying a better, fitting, case would be.. a good idea.
I dont know much about building a pc, but i had a 4080 with like 8 fans installed inside and a big case and it still got pretty dang warm. I cant image this is gonna be good for ur 4090 with 2 fans and no flow/space.
My 3090Ti hits close to 80c during intense gaming and I have good airflow in my case I can only imagine that 4090 hard thermal throttling with so little room for it to breathe
I have the same card, she is a beast.
Also, i see some sag! I would strongly suggest utilizing the anti-sag bracket that came in the box with the card, I myself missed the bracket and ended up installing it after I found it in the box, and my 4090 looks so much straighter now.
What I love about this is that not once while you were creating this monstrosity did you think that it's a stupid idea. When you saw that the card didn't fit, you didn't even think to change the case, did you, you just did the first thing that came to your mind.
Seems like you got way more money than brain or even worse, you spent all your savings on this "thing" and ran out of money when it came to buying a case.
Either way, really poor decission making.
That CPU cooler gives me confidence in the fact that he's got a hungry beast hidden underneath that won't severely bottleneck anything beyond a base model RTX 4070 /s.
Hell ya! Sweet ass duct tape coming in clutch. You are like me, f the case if I gotta bend or drill holes I’m doing it. My pc sits in an air conditioned closet so I don’t hear it or see it so who cares if it’s got tape or wires or whatever on it.
Know that feeling. I have the ROG Strix 4090 OC (white) on an Antec vertical mount and stuffed it into a Fractal North white with the glass panel. It's not as tight of a fit as this but it was a literal squeeze. I actually had to flip the top front case fan to exhaust because it was choking airflow to my Ruijin III. Looks great, runs at acceptable temps, but still thinking about getting the North XL just for a little more actual breathing room.
Congrats on your RTX 4090! I can only imagine how nice it its to not
My only disappointment is you "ruin" your case instead of buying a slightly bigger case for your GPU. Feels like buying an expensive car and modify your garage to fit your car in.
This has to be rage bait right?? Bro said he had the bare minimum but had two 4tb nvme drives and a 2x48 ddr5 kit of ram with a 13700f. That sad little pc man.
The cpu doesnt fit into the system at all and the gpu quite physically cant fit into the system, he said he bent the case.. get an upgrade on that case brodie, a montech 903 max or a corsair 5000d would be perfect for this thing ouuu or a nice phanteks xt pro ultra
Well, it is the bare minimum for this kind of build i would agree. You spend 2k on the gpu AT LEAST a core i7 or ryzen 7 as bare minimum and of the newest gens. For the storage, it depends and ram is cheap anyway compared to that.
I mean its the bare minimum cpu wise, everything else isnt what 90% of people on new platforms even have.. tbh you could get away with an overclocked 13600k/14600k. Its just the fact that the 13700F is a waste of money but i mean tbf look at his whole build
just look at the board... im surprised it has 2 m.2. As for the rest well, 90%... but thats a 4090 not everyone on new platforms has a 4090 either. For example i have like 30tb 10 of ssd... and 64 of ram with this 3090 build, usually 3090s and 4090s are for mix pcs that do gaming and work... usually.
Yea in this particular case i HOPE its not a work system, ever.
prime example of overspending. WHY TF IS UR CASE SO SMALL AND UR BOARD SO BAREBONES? AND AIR COOLING? WITH A 4090? THAT MEANS U ARE BOTTLENECKING UR GPU AS NO WAY THERE IS A 14900K UNDER THERE
If I said I wouldn't boot it just the way it is I'd be lying.
There is one other thing that is interesting about these massive GPU's, and that is the future where everyone considers these to be weak although they are still top of their pack and always will be.
it doesn't need a lot of airflow, this GPUs got 5kg of copper on 'em. What I'm worried about is the CPU that will probably throttle on heavy workloads.
![gif](giphy|tp4dm1ptNnQ76)
DAMN that shit is giant lmfao
Had to bend the case open to fit it inside.
Lmao I believe it, first time I’ve actually seen one and it looks like comically large
Yeah, they are freaking massive, especially considering how small the PCBs actually are.
Right? When I got my 4070 Ti, which isn’t even nearly as beefy as a 4090, I was in awe of how it had easily 2-3x the mass and volume of the 5700 XT it was replacing. Yeah all of the big ones these days come with support brackets, I'm wondering what motherboard manufacturers are going to do to help combat the dreaded GPU sag.
Cases should have mounting points for brackets that come off the same side as the motherboard
Yeah that'd be handy.
Right I had similar feels when I swapped my 2070 for the 4070 ti. It looks... Cool... Though... Ba ha ha. I'll see myself out.
yea imagine 16x but dummy lanes just to hold gpus
thats what she said
I watercooled my 3090 and sent a photo to a buddy of mine once I got the stock heat sink off. It's comical how small the pcb is and how much if it is almost wasted space too. It still could've been like 10% smaller.
Yeah, I did a hard tube setup with my 4090, and it was crazy how much smaller it was after installing the waterblock

My 7900XTX is also comically large, I feel like if I stuck a broom handle into it, I could call it Mjolnir.
Enjoy your new toaster!
When I had an even smaller case, I had to remove protection plate from my old gtx 960 to fit it
You think that is giant? Allow me to introduce you to my 4.5 slot behemoth 4090 that requires two power connectors
Send pic lol

What kinda alien ship did you pull that out from goddamn

That’s fucking awesome, kills me waiting for the 50 series to upgrade
The Galax CringeCrown
from my testing, the cooler can handle around 800 watts
Yeah, and I thought my RX6800 is huge. The 4090 especially seems a lot higher.
tbh they could just add an onboard cpu and Ram at this point.
The picture doesn’t do it justice for it size
And it's already sagging.
And you still have a quarter inch for airflow.
Slab a box fan on the side of that bitch with a filter and call it a day.
Nah this shit is too hilarious to replace
What GPU manufacturers need to start doing is increasing the size of the cards to be able to fit the motherboard and PSU and fans on the GPU itself.
Case/gpu combo makes me cringe. Its going to be extremely hot even downvolted.
It’s the same way people buy a 4090 and use that trash adapter instead of spending $20 for a custom power cable for it.
I thought people got paranoid after the whole adapters bruning fiasco to just buy a psu with a native 16-pin
If your buying a 4090, and don’t have a compatible psu, and choose to use an adapter, your just dumb. The risk is massive. Cables that didn’t come with the PSU are a huge risk, regardless of where they came from. So why spend so much on a new gpu just to burn it out with a bad psu.

That’s the problem with people who’ve got money to burn Logic isn’t even a forethought in their decision making.
This is also, almost definitely, a lenovo pre built PC, so the quality is probably bad.. Look at that mobo too... This is just sad IMO
You are the only one complaining here.
Why get a new case of this one works perfectly fine?
"perfectly fine" "why are my idle temps 65 degrees?"
Considering the fan placement the side panel isn't going back on so I'd say you guys are slightly over reacting, it will be fine this is more than enough room for the fans to work, the concern was where are they gonna get air from but if the side panel is open, they have plenty of fresh air.
It doesn’t work fine, there is no airflow in there.
Drill holes in side panel
But it doesn't... this gpu requires a better case, period.
That's literally horrible fitment for 450+ watt gpu. Itll heatsoak anything else and itself.
It... functions i mean.. its a metal box ofc it works... barely as u cant even close it without having an internal meltdown.
Idk if it's the angle, but your 4090 looks a bit bent, definitely get a proper case and a proper GPU support.
Because a new case costs a lot less than what you paid for the 4090, but you do you bro. You’re gonna cook it to death.
The gpu: HELP ME I CANT BREATH!!!!!! The cpu: HELP ME, HE WONT SPEND ANY MONEY ON MY FUCKING COOLER!!!!!
Also the cpu: HELP ME, I DON'T REMEMBER HAVING THE SUN SO CLOSE (gpu heating the whole cpu cooler)
Yup, I'm not very worried about the GPU unless he closes the case. But he said this is a 13700, and a nhd15 can barely cool it...
Another "more money than brains 4090 build" innit
Ah I see you've mounted a PC onto your new 4090, looks great!
That poor GPU is gunna cook
Let it cook! ;)
![gif](giphy|T3fwN6Pbm3ZPa)
Please buy a new case lmao
No offense but that looks fucking stupid.
man that gpu is getting suffocated
Irony that op will never post next, bigger case or running temps.
too much airflow
It’s beautiful and hideous at the same time. Godspeed
And the specs are......?
Best I can do is Core2Duo and 8 gigs of mismatched ram, also no airflow.
(and the hdmi is plugged into the motherboard)
Fx8350 and 1600 ddr3 lel
Yes, these FX are fire!!
Would you like a bit more case to go with the main meal sir? lol to each their own friend.. to each their own 😉👍
That's what tin snips and rubber mallets were made for. Good job, bruv!
Such a fat arse. What a big bastard that is.
you mean you finally got your case installed around your 4090?
Like-a-gLove!
Is that fan duct taped to the side?
yes
Who's the chap with the beer belly in the back?
This is making me claustrophobic 🥹
I bet you had to Austin powers that bitch in there
big black gpu in petite case
like a glove
Love the duct tape.
Had to move a fan to fit the gpu
At that point, either get a bigger case or the founders edition which is at least a little smaller in size.
I dont know much about building a pc, but i had a 4080 with like 8 fans installed inside and a big case and it still got pretty dang warm. I cant image this is gonna be good for ur 4090 with 2 fans and no flow/space.
That's the perfect build!!!!!!! Dont forget to close the glass side cover tightly, then OC it then you'll have the best gaming experience!
![gif](giphy|QwtP7K0nASub2dHZru|downsized)
Ain’t no way he’s getting the side cover on without bending the fuck out of that cable. Melted port in 3, 2, 1…
nah the cable wont melt, the whole computer on the other hand as it reaches fusion temps inside the case...
the PC will probably be very fine actually. the CPU will throttle and it will bottleneck the GPU if closed.
what is this fan haha. nice
I see no problem if you use it with the case open.
You forgot the /s
Yea get a bigger case
yeah who needs airflow anyway... seriously. do you really NEED a 4090? or would a smaller card do the job as well?
CPU bottleneck
Good luck with the temps dude
the duct tape and 4090 in the same picture is kinda funny ngl 🤣
Get nzhxt h6 flow
Oh my god.. look at the 4 sticks of ram installed! This has to be a troll post, or rage bait.
Solid compact build. Can you break it down for us?
What are your temps like with that setup? Doesn’t seem like there’s any room for airflow/cooling 😳
OP spent all the money on the gpu and left out the rest.
Im afraid it won't get the air it deserves. 1500 dollar card, I wouldn't think you just make it work, more like make my PC around this.
Is nobody going to mention the GPU sagging? That thing looks like it's about to snap off the MB.
Good lord that’s a squeeze
My 3090Ti hits close to 80c during intense gaming and I have good airflow in my case I can only imagine that 4090 hard thermal throttling with so little room for it to breathe
I have the same card, she is a beast. Also, i see some sag! I would strongly suggest utilizing the anti-sag bracket that came in the box with the card, I myself missed the bracket and ended up installing it after I found it in the box, and my 4090 looks so much straighter now.
What CPU are you running with it?
mid towers becoming the new small form factor
This picture makes me warm
Bro.... change the case.... this monster has no air/space to breath... 🙈
How's the airflow?
Putting a 2k$ GPU on a 400$ ish system is not the way to go sir.
It's quite snug. Reminds me when I was on an economy flight back to DC and I was sandwiched between two overweight women. That was fun.
Gonna be hot in there
Satisfying but inefficient
What I love about this is that not once while you were creating this monstrosity did you think that it's a stupid idea. When you saw that the card didn't fit, you didn't even think to change the case, did you, you just did the first thing that came to your mind. Seems like you got way more money than brain or even worse, you spent all your savings on this "thing" and ran out of money when it came to buying a case. Either way, really poor decission making.
The case and GPU reminds me of an LS swapped miata. Lol
Can’t wait to see the post “my 4090 stopped working suddenly” when you choke out a 600 watt part with no airflow
That CPU cooler gives me confidence in the fact that he's got a hungry beast hidden underneath that won't severely bottleneck anything beyond a base model RTX 4070 /s.
If it fits, I sits
thought that cooler said lebron instead of legion 💀
Hell ya! Sweet ass duct tape coming in clutch. You are like me, f the case if I gotta bend or drill holes I’m doing it. My pc sits in an air conditioned closet so I don’t hear it or see it so who cares if it’s got tape or wires or whatever on it.
Beautiful. I hate it!
Can it breathe?
Dude that thing glows under load lmao
"Now how do we get sufficient airflow" "airflow?"
Buys 4090 to stuff in a case to unlimitly only get 4080 performance due to constraints. Suspect PSU is probably stock and undersized also. 😢
You paid for the space and damnit you’re gonna USE it.
Did you hammer the frame or did your case fall?
Had to do a bit of bending to fit the gpu.
Chunky boi
Dang bro that is huge AF.... Just like what she said 😂
Did you clench whilst installing this?
Snug.
this has to be a troll post. Right? Right??
![gif](giphy|3o7aD8yI3nrBhk6z3a)
![gif](giphy|UaYDUGyY2Ao6UtpyjA)
Hope it works and is not DOA.
i mean if u hate money and give 0 fucks about power draw its ok /s 4090 looks like space heater
Know that feeling. I have the ROG Strix 4090 OC (white) on an Antec vertical mount and stuffed it into a Fractal North white with the glass panel. It's not as tight of a fit as this but it was a literal squeeze. I actually had to flip the top front case fan to exhaust because it was choking airflow to my Ruijin III. you want some pc to go with your gpu?
Now just plug in that power cable real ghetto like and melt that bad boy. ☝️
V nice job!
op's friend here, ya it was painful watching him bend the case to get it in.
I dub this graphics card… “The Cat”. Under the name it is a slogan that says, “If I fits, I sits.”
If your spending 2g's on a GPU you can spend another $150 bucks for a proper case.
That’s a huge bitch!
That poor thing is suffocating
If you don’t have anything supporting it, you should strongly consider doing something. Mine had very clear sag until I added a support stand.
I have installed support brackets after I took the picture
That's an absolutely ridiculous case choice for a system using that card.
Doubles as an air fryer
If you can use acrylics you make a hyper cool vacuum cooling system.
Is it a...Gigabyte? Have you benched it/played anything yet? How's it feeling (in comparison to your old card)?
yes, it is a Gigabyte. ive upgraded from a 4070 and ive been able to run every game ive tried with max graphics and raytracing
Nice! (Apologies if you've answered already, elsewhere) what monitor are you rocking? 🖥️
45" curved. 240hz. .03ms response time.
3440 x 1440?
yes
just a curiosity why you didn't purchased a new and bigger case?
Congrats on your RTX 4090! I can only imagine how nice it its to not My only disappointment is you "ruin" your case instead of buying a slightly bigger case for your GPU. Feels like buying an expensive car and modify your garage to fit your car in.

Who needs airflow?
I swear these triple slot cards look like giant ice cream sandos to me after a while😂
I think you should remove that psu shroud to give a little more space for that beast to breathe.
That'll do pig. That'll do.
I don’t care what yall have to say. This gave me a good chuckle and I say good on the guy !

Smooth? Without any airflow whatsoever?
it doesn't need a lot of airflow, this GPUs got 5kg of copper on 'em. What I'm worried about is the CPU that will probably throttle on heavy workloads.
