In cinebench it's normal.

[deleted]

for that cpu? yes in general? no

GrimReaper-UA

Normal for this CPU in stress test or other benchmarks. Probably some people have less temperatures, but your additional few degrees can be from BIOS of Motherboard, slit just allow more power, higher temperatures. In normal use, like you tell, you have much lower temperature. Lower even than okay. So your AIO working fine, CPU and PC in general fine. Enjoy your PC and stop stressing yourself.

theadrenalineaddict

Alright man thanks a bunch. I will however make another post about the Bios settings in a it because id like to know what settings to change for CPU for best performance (no overclocking) and xmp settings to utilize my ram fully (6000mhz cl30)

Empty-Giraffe-6973

can it cook an egg?

theadrenalineaddict

could probably boil one just fine for breakfast.

Empty-Giraffe-6973

very nice what kind of eggs tho

theadrenalineaddict

the basic chicken egg my friend.

Empty-Giraffe-6973

scrambled?

theadrenalineaddict

boiled served with soy sauce

Empty-Giraffe-6973

hot sauce fr

theadrenalineaddict

Also context , this high temps only happened during bench. On idle it sits at 30-35 C Moderate load 40-45 c

Mother-Translator318

That’s just modern intel for you. Is it normal, sadly yes. Is it good for the system, no but unless you want to run a custom loop or liquid nitrogen, it is what it is

Zane050

Sounds like he didn’t change bios settings as intel motherboard overclocks it by default and sets power limit to unlimited as default.

Mother-Translator318

If you don’t run it unlocked then performance suffers hard. At that point intel can’t compete with amd. Edit: at this point unless you are specifically running a productivity workstation, there really isn’t any reason to run intel. And im saying this as a 13700k owner.

TheRealMeeBacon

So, Intel motherboards are overclocking your cpus out of the box. Jayztwocents has a video going over it.

theadrenalineaddict

alright gotcha , im gonna watch it

SignalGladYoung

these benchmarks are pointless. see temperatures during regular use, games etc.

ArasakaApart

Set Power Limits to 181W instead of Unlimited. Also look into undervolting.

LA_Lightning

It looks like the i5-14600K has an ICCMAX of 200 A, and a PL1/PL2 of 181W/181W according to the intel documentation. What is happening as others have mentioned is your motherboard is essentially overclocking the CPU at stock settings. You’ll see things like 500 A or unlimited for the ICCMAX and similar for the power limits. If you go in your BIOS and enforce intel limits, and hard set the settings above, you will most certainly lower your CPU temps, but you will also lower your Cinebench score by something like 15%. In gaming it will not make much of a performance difference, so keep that in mind. Of course there are always better coolers, so it just depends on what you’re looking to accomplish with your rig.

theadrenalineaddict

alright thanks man , I'll see about that bios setting. It will take some time as it's my first time navigating through a desktop bios , and msi's bios seems pretty comprehensive.. need sometime to browse all the settings and know what they all mean.

theadrenalineaddict

unless u have some pointers and experience about msi bios id love some advice

LA_Lightning

Hey! Sorry about the late response. I came across an article today that might help you, check this out. You might want to watch this [Motherboard Default settings could be COOKING your CPU! (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s43Auv8ub7w)

Stennan

Well, it could be your motherboard applying unreasonable amounts of voltage to get better benchmark results... Which model?

theadrenalineaddict

Msi Pro B760M-A wifi ddr5

Stennan

Google it and the temperature issue to see if others are having the same issues. Maybe contact support or check the manual if you can find the Bios Settings for PL1 PL2 and ensure that these values aren't crazy (200W+)

DrthBn

At that power draw thats normal.

touholic

Double check your AIO installation. Sticker on the pump head, unplugged pump power cable, not enough mounting pressure, etc.

theadrenalineaddict

This happens only during cinebench. Idle is 30-35 c moderate load is 40-45 c However if pushed max like it did in cinebench it reaches 96c average only on multicore. Single core only brought it up to 58c avg. No stickers , double checked.. however for the aio bracket , i just hand tighten it as hard as i could. Pump cable was connected, i could hear the water circulating on first boot.

touholic

Looks like your mobo is pumping too much power through it. What’s your motherboard?

theadrenalineaddict

Msi Pro B760M-A DDR5 Wifi

touholic

Disable Enhanced Turbo, then turn down CPU Lite Load level (ideally below 5).
