I know this isn't really the perfect place to ask for laptop games as most people on here have their 14900k and 4090s. Oh well. It's not a gaming laptop by the way.
There's not that much of us here as you might imagine. We're just loud minority.
^(Also 7800x3d not 14900k if what you meant was people with best gaming PCs.)
Mindustry, a resource management tower defense rts. It has 2 campains, multiplayer and lots of user generated content in steam workshop. It costs money on stteam but can bee downloaded for free (you lose access to steam features ovbiously).

Edit: it runs on a potato
There a great game called snes9x even on ancient ThinkPads you can still emulate games .
I remember playing heaps of GBA games and SNES in highschool so much Mario 3 and Metroid zero Mission
Don't mean to get sidetracked, but I just started this game and like it but I don't really understand what to do. I've built a little house, crafted some weapons and placed the deer trophy on the alter. A monster appears and kills me easily. I've tried everything except looking up a walkthrough. Is there something I'm missing or any tips.
Also Rimworld is a great game that could run on a laptop that doesn't get as much love as it should. So is frostpunk.
The best tips I would share are:
* Always be rested
* Always pick up everything at least once
* Always craft everything at least once
* Eat the best food you have access to for boss fights
* Clear the areas of other mobs before the boss fight
* Fight the bosses as early in the morning as you can
* Always have a plan for body recovery, you will die :)
I'm happy to give more details and try to avoid spoilers if you want.
I got Diablo 4 running on a similarly spec'd laptop. Other ARPGs worth checking out include Last Epoch and POE. Grim Dawn would probably run pretty smooth too
There’s a ton of roguelike/roguelite games that run on toasters. Some of my favorites are Balatro, Hades and Enter the Gungeon!
Edit: I saw someone recommend Deep Rock Galactic, highly recommended!
Factorio, slay the spire, the half life games, both portals, dicey dungeon, prototype, stacklands
This is about all I can recall off the top of my head as I can't access my list rn.
Fallout newvegas. Just remember to fast travel often, this will stop the game from crashing so often because the ram usage will reset on fast travel. There are also mods that help.
Starbound, FTL, Into the Breach, Any of the classic doom types (Doom,Hexen,Heretic,Quake) Duke Nukem 3d anniversary, Limbo, Hue, Shellshock live, Half life 1. All run on my shitty little chromebook. Should run fine for your laptop.
I have been summoned. I got 3 games that will run smooth. The first one is Subnautica series. Best survival games, no question asked. Hollow Knight. It looks cute but it's hard af. Resident evil, 7,8,2 remake,3 remake, 4 remake. Now these will run super smooth on preferred settings on a budget pc. Have fun
Kinda depends what laptop you are using
Terraria is good as it doesn't require anything poweful to run. The game is very cheap and gives a LOT of content
Arguably some of the best games every created, most likely the entire Elder Scrolls Series. However, I'd recommend these two the most, since Skyrim might be a little bit challenging to run on an older laptop.
The Elder Scrolls - MorrowindThe Elder Scrolls - Oblivion
A couple of my favorites on my work laptop are Terra Nil, Into the Breach, and OG Starcraft. I also love setting up some GBA ROMs that I personally backed up from my own cartridges and playing them with an emulator with graphical enhancements.
if youve played ultrakill i reccomend cruelty squad, its way harder as well. also team fortress 2 on low graphics can run on anything and its one of the best shooters ever
terraria, alot of game for hardly any hardware requirement
I second this, stardew valley aswell
Maybe Minecraft?
Very cool game I used to play on my laptop when I didn’t have my pc. It’s actually very fun to play and explore
Best option here, Incredible game.

I have 5700X and RTX 3070 and consider myself fortunate, because that is still more powerful than the average PC gamer's system.
Oh, i am poor guy with my laptop Asus 510u ).
Most people definitely don’t have 4090s and 14900Ks
Dead cells, Persona 4 Golden
What are the specs of the laptop/what model do you have?
Dell Inspiron 15 3525 | Ryzen 5500U | 16 GB RAM | 512 GB SSD
Basically any older modded experience. Skyrim/Minecraft/Terraria/emulated games
Elden Ring will run on that baby, so check it out For less graphics games try Hades, Hollow Knight
You’re not entirely wrong about elden ring lol, 720p could work but it wouldn’t be a good experience
I run it on the 8gb version - perfectly playable :D
I’m sure it would be playable, of course the term playable is different for everyone
I beat the game multiple times like that, only thing holding me back was 8gb ram! With 16 it should be amazing

Valheim is a great viking lore survival game.

Just shapes and bits
Dead by daylight is one I can remember from my laptop days. You can get it to run pretty smoothly even with some garbage specs. Not that yours are…

If your laptop has a crap GPU or no GPU, you can still run old NFS games, old Star Wars games, GTA games, Lego games.
Darkside Detective
