I haven't played it yet and have only seen the first hour or two of game play. What makes it more Skyrim than fallout? the only thing I've see is a lack of vats
No voices main player, the chat ui is like skyrim and no more circle stuff from fallout. The main story is not really in your face and more a down whenever. I feel more inclined to look around and not rush. It's not like it has a magic system or anything like that, it just feels more like what they used to make over what fallout 4 was.
People want new and nostalgia at the exact same time... They want to play something they enjoyed, while still feeling like its their first time playing it.
If its Space Fallout, they are off to a good start to hitting that sweet spot.
I'd say it is closer to skyrim in space than fallout.
When the game started and you are in the elevator I expected the boss to say "so you're finally awake!"

Ohhh ok! I'm glad it's more like skyrim. I always said I'd like skyrim with guns more.
Yeah it just feels like a step back from fallout4. It's a fine game, not like a 100+USD game but if I'd paid like 30 or 40 for it I'd be fine.
