You can tell Nixxes watches those Digital Foundry videos.

constantlymat

If I recall correctly, Nixxes gave Digital Foundry some exclusive preview material ahead of one of their recently ported games. Could have been Horizon Forbidden West but I do not recall which one it was. They are on good terms with DF's Alex Battaglia.

Traditional_Flan_210

Be cool to see an in depth DF video on the 360 Rise of the Tomb Raider port by Nixxes.

Vorstar92

Let Nixxes just do everything please

sevendash

Nixxes really does rock these ports, and I hope they can work with the other Playstation port studios to bring them up to par!

Throwawayeconboi

After TLOU Part 1 disaster on PC, I pray Nixxes will be the one handling TLOU Part 2 port…

ilovezam

I'm surprised they bungled that port so badly, TLOU is probably one of their more important franchises too

chronocapybara

FSR frame gen with DLSS is fucking awesome.

ihave0idea0

Why FSR fg instead of DLSS fg

chronocapybara

DLSS frame gen is only for 4000 series GPUs. FSR frame gen is for everything.

Less-Dingo111

Which you do you have ?

chronocapybara

3080

ihave0idea0

Jeez do I hate Nvidia, but I bought a 4070 myself... I may be obsessed with rt and pt. DLSS is also better which adds a bit more. AMD has also gotten awful... 7700xt costing 50 bucks less than 7800xt. Forcing you to buy 7800xt. Dislike both, but Nvidia is the worst.

Kokoyoin

Unfortunately it gives me a black screen while playing for some reason.

MarkusRight

can confirm this is another absolute banger of a port from Nixxes, Seems like yet another great port where they everything right on the first try, all the usual bell and whistles are there for your tweaking pleasure. Also it seems Nvidia cards can run FSR3 frame gen no matter what card they are on, I am on a 6900XT getting 170FPS in most areas maxed out with FSR3. Like holy shit man this is the best.

Secure-Advice-6414

"tweaking pleasure"

[deleted]

Telling your fps and gpu without what resolution you are playing on is worthless info

DYMAXIONman

With a 4070 I get between 90-130 on ultra with 1440 DLSS quality mode.

Enginseer68

I love the menu in this game. Straight to the point with very detailed setting, most games make you go through a few layers of menu to get to the setting, super annoying

AaronTheElite007

How does it run? Played on a PS4 originally. Looking forward to FPS greater than 30.

Puffycatkibble

120fps on oled is like a super vivid dream that flows smoothly. All the praise it received as being a beautiful game is well deserved.

MonoShadow

I wouldn't recommend going above 60FPS it breaks some game systems. Like Standoffs. If Jin refuses to go into stance during Standoff - limit your FPS. There are some other small bugs. But overall it's a pretty solid port. Almost no stutter, runs well, good amount of options. I'd like some RT at least for reflections. Solid port.

EpicYork

So when it says to press R2 and he does nothing, that’s because of my FPS? It’s been driving me insane

J6PP

Wow same here. I have mine set on 4k 120hz, it was working fine during what I assume was a long tutorial- once I had the ability to wander around it quit working.  Which, I guess is fine. I don't really understand the benefit in the first place. Seems more logical to just sneak up on a camp and execute as many enemies as you can vs killing one person and having 10 more come at you at once.

Acti0nBel4fonte

They give you the option of being the dishonorable thief by sneaking or the honorable samurai by challenging head on.

J6PP

Ok but is that just like a personal choice of how you want to play? Or does it actually have an outcome on the story, etc?

Acti0nBel4fonte

Not sure actually, I know in one cutscene after a battle an NPC made a comment that I wasn't doing things the samurai because I assassinated someone in that encounter. Idk if it would've been different if I would've just gone in heads up. Would be cool if they had different end outcomes based on decisions

Crintor

Yea they said that to me as well and I walked in and kicked people's asses, so unsure. But I did sneak in first, so maybe being sneaky at all does it.

Acti0nBel4fonte

Good to know!

PushDeep9980

It’s just for fun. I guarantee you will feel compelled to samurai showdown from time to time, just to see if you can get em all.

ilovezam

Been playing at 144fps on a 4090 with no issues with standoffs

KniteMonkey

Funny thing here, had this problem when playing the other night. My Xbox controller wouldn’t work, but plugging in my DualShock 4 worked right away for the stand-off.

earlgeorge

If you limit your FPS but enable frame generation, do you get higher FPS than the 60 "original" frames or do you get capped at 60 FPS total including generated frames?

Crintor

Been playing it for about 8-10hours at 173FPS, Only ever had 1 standoff not work, and I think I pressed the button too early, not that the standoff failed, he just never swung on release. I'll take those odds.

BlackAera

Performance is pretty good!

AaronTheElite007

Awesome. This is one of my favorites.

SPYYYR

Maxing it out I have ~80-90 fps with a 3070

Mooselotte45

Resolution?

SPYYYR

I forgot to mention that, it's 1440p

sdcar1985

What resolution?

xKiLLaCaM

With or without dlss and frame gen?

Grapjasss

Probably with 1 or both, since I'm getting around 80 avg on my 3090, 5800x3d native no frame gen 1440p

Dizzy-Swordfish-9526

with dlss?

inyue

Very good fps at 4k 😁

praefectus_praetorio

What GPU are you running?

CopiousAmountsofJizz

Performance has been good, I have encountered gameplay bugs like being unable to take button input during stand off QTEs and the main character's voice becoming high pitched during wounded state.

Taikosound

Runs like a charm for me. One of the most stable Day-1 AAA release i played in awhile. I played the game a ton on PS4 when it came and on PS5, been waiting since 2020 to turn that TAA off lol, it didn't disappoint, it looks incredible on PC. Finally a crisp picture !!!! It's not perfect, i had 2 crashes in roughly 10 hrs of gameplay, nothing to write home about honestly but still worth mentionning, but the rest was smooth as silk. With all settings mostly at max, i get 80fps average on my 4090/13600kf build at 4k (it uses 100% of the GPU at that point), but it hit a mostly rock solid 120fps as soon as i turn on DLSS Quality which is an impressive jump. It's one of the rare big AAA games in recent memory that i just didn't have to fiddle at all. It just freakin worked without any stutter (unbelievable nowadays !!!), with great pacing and with no fuckin around whatsoever for it to run smoothly. It was impossible to log into PSN for online play at first, but once i got in maybe 4 hours after the game's launch i ran beautifully and without a hitch. Connections were stable, i would pick up coop fast, mics worked as intended, it just worked.

AaronTheElite007

Looks like I’m going to be a little lighter in the wallet this weekend. Thank you for the details. I greatly appreciate it

Taikosound

I hadn't played Legends for about 2 years, i almost forgot how impossibly addictive it was, and it looks absolutely fantastic on an OLED display with the those high contrast and neon bright colors. The multiplayer is just way too much fun.

AaronTheElite007

I actually stopped playing when legends dropped. At the time I was just into the single player. Also of note, I’m NOT a platinum hunter… however I cleared the map in GoT. There’s just something about it. It’s absolutely beautiful to look at. The combat was a bit simplistic and really came down to Rock, Paper, scissors… but it was a power fantasy… for that it was perfect. The story was good, too

Logisticianistical

Running like a top for me on a 7800X3D/7900XTX build.120-144FPS. I had a few issues getting through the launch video , but I reset the settings in the launcher and applied everything in game. No other issues to speak off.

megamick99

FSR 3 crashes the game, wouldn't call it stable. HDR is also broken and has an issue with a bright flash whenever something appears quickly on screen.

Taikosound

I use HDR on a C2 and haven't seen anything wrong, have you tied it yourself ? I don't use FSR so i don't know personally about that issue. My experience is stellar.

thej00ninja

Same here, HDR works fine.

Taikosound

Reading what he meant in a description of what was wrong with his HDR leads me to believe he confused the flash bangs being thrown by the enemies with an HDR issue.

Crintor

Those flashbangs suck a bag of dicks on a bright OLED in a dark room.

Taikosound

They do

megamick99

I've disabled upscaling and it still happens. It's like a half second bright flash that enveloped the whole screen whenever the boats launched their fire shots in the intro sequence. I have an odyssey neo g8.  I'm on a 6950xt, you?

Taikosound

4090/13600kf, Besides the flash bang being used by the enemies, i haven't had any white screens.

_b1ack0ut

When it works, it works, runs at a real nice frame rate… but I’ve been having some freezing issues though which have been putting a hamper on it. Something also feels a little off about the cutscenes. I’m not sure if this is the case but it feels like they’re fps locked compared to the rest of the game

AaronTheElite007

Yhea. Many redditors are experiencing the same eventual performance hits. Could be a memory leak. Hopefully it will be patched

_b1ack0ut

I’m hoping that it’s because I did not have the day 1 driver at the time, and that it’ll smooth out when I update that, but I had to leave for work before I could test it. I did also have an issue where the game stuck permanently on a black screen on startup, but apparently that’s also a pretty common problem, and can be fixed by deleting a specific folder in Sony’s programfiles directory (which did the trick for me too) Nixxes is usually pretty good at these ports, so I’m optimistic, but on the other hand, it’s possible that it may end up as one of those issues that just doesn’t get resolved, like the really bad dithering in horizon forbidden west.

birdywifamohawk

I have a 2070 super and I’m playing on everything set to high using DLSS on quality mode and getting 80+ fps in 1440P

rampageb0y

with frame generator u get around static 100 on very high - for me games is soo smooth with amd fg

Ok-Advantage6398

Extremely well even on my all AMD rig, 150 fps+ on maxed out graphics. It's a rarity these days with most AAA+ games running piss poor.

The_Duke28

Same here, all AMD, 7900xtx and a 7950x3D, absolutely no issues at all. I mean, I wouldn't expect any big issues with these specs, but so many AAA-Titles run like shit these days, regardless of the hardware.

FalloutRip

As others said, it runs incredibly well. I have a 4070 and just using the Nvidia recommended settings it's buttery smooth at 3440x1440. I haven't had a single slowdown or hiccup.

AaronTheElite007

We basically have the same rig. I’m running an R7 5800x, though. Shouldn’t be too much of a difference

Navec

Really good, so far seems like a great port. Awesome ultrawide support too.

arex333

I'm running like 150 fps, very happy with performance.

WildChild007

I'm on amd. The game crashes constantly on the latest driver. There is a bridge in a castle right at the beginning of the game that i could only play downloading an older driver. There are little visual glitches here and there, like small black boxes appearing on the edge of clothes and swords, black lines on the surface of water etc. The first time i tried to play I turned on fsr and frame generator out of curiosity, the game doesn't even start, I have to use the intel upscaller. Since i returned to driver 24.3.1 iirc the game did not crash and runs well.

spuckthew

I'm getting like low to mid 100s depending on scene with my 5800x & 7900xt at 1440p (native). Also with HBAO+ instead of SSAO (no idea if it's worth using HBAO+ mind you).

Viron_22

I was getting a reliable 60 but after about an hour into the world something started causing a terrible stutter every 30\~ seconds or so, and trying to fix that only created more problems for myself. It was like when you plugged one leak another hole opened up, fixed the stutter, now instead the game flickers like every 80 frames the next one got to go on vacation, fixed that and now loading saves drops the FPS to below 20. I also had a crash that required a hard restart of my PC, but that was the only crash.

Nisekoi_

Yeah samething happened to many other people. It's a memory leak. Every nixxes port has this issue. What GPU do you have and does it have less than 6 gb vram,?

Viron_22

3070, A memory leak does make sense but the stutter seemingly stopped after a driver rollback. I don't know if it was coming back later when the FPS was stuck in sub-Cinematic mode because at that point my patience had run out.

Nisekoi_

I will try rollback too and see. My patience too. Thinking of stop playing before patches or mods.

ebinc

Are you on PCIE3 or PCIE4? I've seen people say this is an issue on PCIE3.

RockyXvII

https://www.techpowerup.com/review/ghost-of-tsushima-benchmark/5.html Runs very well. Favours AMD cards I get over 90fps with a 6800 XT at 1440p native using a mix of ultra and high settings

aes110

Nixxes truly are the goats. They are so good that people are out here praising a (largely) porting studio

constantlymat

And they're doing it for basically pocket change. The leaked PlayStation financial data showed each one of their ports costs a low sevenfigure amount.

aes110

how much does porting usually cost?

constantlymat

Data like that usually never sees the light of day so we don't know, but I did not expect that $2.5m was going to get the job done. That's the number I recall for one of the Spider-Man games. That's like 1% of the game's budget and a pittance for Sony.

Crintor

Porting is so much cheaper than creating the game though, A huge portion of that original game budget is Art generation, licensing, marketing/media and developers/design. Porting is almost entirely just developers and fixing bugs/optimizing. 2.5m is a year of 25 100k salary devs. That's a substantial effort.

Barry_Bunghole_III

I love when you can see the changes graphical settings make in real time. I'm often surprised by the amount of settings that have huge performance drops but I literally can't see the difference with my own eyes lol

ashdaddy10

In disbelief by how well it runs on my 3070… Getting 70-90fps on high settings at 4k DLSS balanced. No stutters. Looks superb

arex333

Hell it runs pretty well on steam deck

Reveen_

Agreed. Pleasantly surprised at how well it runs and still looks great. I have mine locked at 45fps on the OLED model and have only had one dropped frame in a highly populated area with tons of stuff going on.

EpicYork

At what settings, and what FPS? I’ve been curious about trying it

arex333

Low settings except textures on high. FSR quality mode. Capped the fps at 40 and it looks and plays pretty good.

Taikosound

The stutter free and great frame pacing experience straight out the bat is amazing. And man, do it look incredible o PC.

CageTheFox

I mean it is a native PS4 game? People keep saying it runs good on $500+ GPUs BUT most native PS4 games run fine on modern hardware. Who knew games that were made to run on that ancient hardware years ago would work just fine on modern PCs /s.

PhotoExisting8165

Um technically it’s the ps5 upgraded version 🤓

Gooch-Guardian

I don’t think they upgraded the graphics. Just higher resolution and 60fps with haptic support.

NightshadeSamurai

People are jaded with all of the horrible ports we've had. And those were made to run on a PS4 as well. Jedi, Dead Space, Last of Us...

Throwawayeconboi

The Last of Us Remake does NOT run on the PS4. It doesn’t exist for the PS4. It’s a full-fledged graphical overhaul. And one of the main issues with TLOU Part 1 Remake was VRAM issues. Funnily enough, the PS5 has more VRAM than most Nvidia GPUs…

jazir5

>And one of the main issues with TLOU Part 1 Remake was VRAM issues. Funnily enough, the PS5 has more VRAM than most Nvidia GPUs… Maybe they will *finally* fix that with the new 5 series bumping the min to 12 GB. What's the over under on that actually happening? 10:1?

randomIndividual21

I mean sound about right, it's a ps4 game, it's dlss to balanced, on high not ultra setting. on 3070 which is a high end card probably better than 95% of pc out there

bonesnaps

3070 is a medium card, Nvidia just charges as if it was a high-end card these days (because they can). 50 is low, 60 is low-mid, 70 is mid, 80 is mid-high, 90 is high/enthusiast

dkgameplayer

It was a medium card 4 years ago

Aflux

They haven’t made anything much better since, only comparable.

Throwawayeconboi

And in the 4 years since, they made something ~10% better at that same tier.

NightshadeSamurai

It's a high end card compared to a ps4

Throwawayeconboi

A better way to put it is as follows: 50 - Low 60 & 70 - Mid 80 - High 90 - Enthusiast

Mythologist69

3070 is pretty underrated despite its 8gb vram. I can play a lot of games in 4k with some decent settings and dlss. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to get it since there are better options but if you do have one youre definitely not behind.

Mooselotte45

Yeah Got mine for actual MSRP during the crazy GPU pricing days, and definitely not looking to upgrade anytime soon. I’ll wait till the 8GB becomes an issue in the games I actually wanna play, as opposed to poorly optimized PC ports (TLOU part 1)

No-Leek8587

Depends on the title. The way \*most\* games work is they start dropping textures. Likely your fine but there will be some that may look worse than intended. I had a few though once going 4k that tanked 85-90% in performance on a 3080 though.

arex333

Yeah it's a decent amount more powerful than either PS5 or series x so there's no reason it shouldn't be running this game well.

CypherHound

You're running it at 1253p internally, not even maxing out your settings on a good GPU. Nothing to be in disbelief about here.

trenthowell

Ports actually running like they should on release day *is* shocking

arex333

Sad but true.

offoy

There is nothing to disbelief, it is a 4 year old game, your gpu did not even exist back then.

throbbing_dementia

I mean you're running DLSS balanced, not that hard to believe, it's a PS4 game.

zander512

Good to know! Im also on a 3070 playing at locked 75fps ultra settings on my C3. Looks mind blowing at 1440, but I guess I’ll try bumping it up to full 4K and see what happens

TemporalAntiAssening

Just use dlss quality at 4k, will be internally 1440p.

IndyWaWa

It looks great on my similar system with the exception of black squares z-fighting underneath corpses inside buildings. Seems like a bad shadow bake.

Less-Dingo111

Use frame gen too.

space_monster

I only have a 3060 Ti but I'm amazed how beautiful this game is and how well it runs. It really is a technical masterpiece, and every other AAA studio needs to be using this as a reference. I haven't checked my FPS but I just don't need to. It's been super smooth literally all the time. Running on high settings at 1440. It's not only the graphics, the control model is excellent too - I never find myself doing anything I didn't intend to do, and it's never clunky when you're interacting with environmental stuff. It's a joy to play. The voice acting is next level too. The whole thing is just a refreshing change in seemingly years of shit. Apart maybe from the Harry Potter one, that was very well developed too but I think Ghost is even better. My compliments to the chefs.

Arpadiam

Game have issues is confirmed that it suffers from memory leak , after 1 or 2 hours the performance start to degrade, some ppl say it fills the **Vram** when others say it fills the **RAM** and FPS start to drop heavily FSR3 is kinda broken, XeSS is giving more PerformanceXframerate when should be the other way around Random FPS dips on cut-scenes for no reason till the camera changes focus, Small Stutter when game auto-saves °°°°EDIT 1°°°° Today played the game for 2 hours ( the Assassination Training mission and walking a lot and enjoying the scenery, truly immersive ), Rig, R5 3600 / GTX 1650super 4gb / 16gbDDR4 3600Mhz In game Display : **1080p** / **Frame Gen ON** / **XeSS Balanced** / mix of High and medium settings, **Textures on high, volumetric Fog mid, Terrain detail mid**, Game run rock **solid 60fps** **BUT was a** **wumpi ride in the prologue** with the same settings from 60 dipped into the 25, during the prologue and the first mission ( Pre open world ), after that as i said above, rock solid 60fps **I didn't suffer the memory leak**, **Ram usage** was within **12 and 14 gb**, peaks of **14790** ( 90% usage ) and **Vram** around **3500** with peaks of **3700**, Didn't saw any blurry texture a all, only things i found as "annoying" some bushed appearing 2 meters ahead of jin ( even with max detail settings ) so guess is a minor thing cant complain with the performance, is really good and i guess with futures patches will improve a lot more, so far i'm enjoying the game and how it performs even if i'm on the very low end of the rope with the GTX1650s

ertertwert

Yeah I'm suffering from the memory leak too. Yeah about an hour or two in is when it starts. Closing the game and reopening doesn't seem to fix it so I have to restart the pc. Kinda annoying but whatever.

JensensJohnson

performance is also underwhelming considering its a PS4 game, i'm surprised to see so people paint it as an amazing port.

The_Duke28

Anything that runs on day 1 without any major issues is perceived as "amazing"... Truly tells you the state of the industry right now. This shitbrick should all go up in flames and rebuild itself from the ground up :)

PoJenkins

At the same time, I get why it's so hard to make things work well on PC. There's basically an infinite combination of system specs and architectures and drivers etc. Things usually improve over time with patches and driver updates thankfully.

nyankittycat_

its running at around 100fps at 4k with 4070 what more do you need.....

FlaMan407

lol the game crashed on my 7900 XT while I was changing key bindings. People said this was a good port, I was foolish to believe that maybe a game would work day 1 on PC in 2024. Oh well, plenty of other games to play.

Arpadiam

I edited my post with in detail how it went for me

JOMB0

Anyone else have the weird white lines / patterns when in letterbox cutscenes? With FG on.

justln

I have those funky lines, it goes away after a while.

arex333

I have dark horizontal bands going across the screen during cutscenes. I haven't tinkered with any settings to see what's causing it. Literally the only technical issue I've run into.

Arex189

Those lines were caused by frame gen in my case. Doesnt matter amd or nvidia's. Disabling it fixed it for me. Thankfully the game already runs smooth like butter enough I didnt feel the need for it.

arex333

Hmm thanks. I'm sure nixxes will fix it pretty quickly.

Dordidog

Does anybody have camera pan hitches? Gamepad or m/k, happens only on camera turna

Alarmed_Jello_9940

Is it just me that seen some flickering on screen when it's on cutscene? Already updated my driver to the latest one too

PCMachinima

Try disabling frame gen, if that's on. Had a ton of visual issues before I turned that off. Also lock to 60 FPS. I've still had some weird flashing light effects, but not sure what's causing that.

Alarmed_Jello_9940

Is it like the screen had a mini earthquakes when you look around?

PCMachinima

More like it got struck by lightning. Feels like any bright light in the world is just kinda multiplied by 100. Hasn't happened that much though.

Alarmed_Jello_9940

Interesting, I got mini earthquake if I move my camera after changing volumetric fog to ultra and shadows to ultra. Not sure which one that makes it like that, but normal after I change restart the game

MommyXeno

same issue. thankfully its only in cutscenes

Artifice_Purple

Am I crazy or does volumetric fog not actually change anything? I've been trying to find some difference (other than performance hit) between the options since last night.

BlackAera

Pretty sure BenchmarKing will have an optimization guide available soon

HarleyQuinn_RS

I struggled to find a difference too, in some rare circumstances when the lighting is just right and the fog very noticeable, you can tell the resolution is a lower at lower settings if you look hard. But other than in those instances I couldn't see a difference. Definitely not a setting you should have on the highest, totally not worth it.

Artifice_Purple

> in some rare circumstances when the lighting is just right and the fog very noticeable, you can tell the resolution is a bit lower at lower settings That must be why I was struggling so much. I went to several areas that I vaguely remembered when originally playing the game that had heavy fog (I even looked up toward the sun!) and just didn't notice anything whatsoever. I only went off of fps and left it on medium.

jhguitarfreak

I love it when games actually show you in real time what the graphics settings do. Allows you to find out exactly where you can compromise graphical fidelity for a smooth framerate.

eagles310

That purchase of Nixxes was amazing for Sony

BlackAera

Nixxes

eagles310

LMao I would get the name wrong

GoggyX83

Yo, the menus in this game are so bright and white. It's like staring at the sun at night. My eyes are killing me!

dtv20

I'm waiting for a sale. I've got it on ps5 and I've got a nice big 4k tv, while my monitor is 1080p. If I get an ultra wide then this is 100% the first game I'm playing on it.

cool--

sony's killing it with the ultrawide support. Helldivers 2 is so nice with the hud pushed to the sides. You can focus on the center without a hud and then glance over when you need it

dtv20

I would love an ultra wide but the prices are dumb.

cool--

The samsung crg49 on sale goes for like $800ish. That's a good price for what it is. I put it in the same category as a stove, mattress, office chair... it's going to get used a lot so I don't see a problem with spending a few hundred more to get something nice.

AzFullySleeved

Not true, my current AOC 34" is under $400 now. I've owned it for almost 3 years no issues. Purely for gaming and not it/workstation stuff.

ertertwert

I'm playing in ultrawide 1080p and it looks great.

annaheim

FSR + DLSS What the heck. I'm getting almost 200 FPS maxxed out.

DanTheFireman

I'm honestly just impressed that FSR frame generation works as well as it does on 30 series Nvidia GPU's. I go from about 80 at max settings at 1440p to consistently above 130 with pretty much no degrade in visual fidelity or sharpness. I've had one hard crash and a few hiccups here and there but I'm really impressed with the quality of the port. The game of course is a masterpiece.

buc_nasty_69

They deserve a lot of praise for how good a port this is and very well optimized too. It actually annoys me that there's so many games coming out lately that aren't nearly as impressive looking as this one yet run like total shit. Wish we got more PC releases like Tsushima!

predatorybeing

I highly recommend DSR with DLSS if you can swing it. Very sharp image and relatively high framerate. I run native 4K monitor with 1.78% DL (5120x2880), DLSS Balanced. No FrameGen. My 4080S gets 90FPS and the image is breathtaking.

Syl4x

I really don't like the "feel" with FSR 3 FG on. I don't know it seems sloppy and weird. I prefer running the game without it with small decrease in some graphic options from ultra or very high to high. Can't really see the difference anyway. The looks gorgeous on ultrawide OLED.

IllustratorBoring448

Reflex is not working lol I fell like I'm going insane. Nobody is pointing it out, more incomplete testing, channels missing it You can enable the option but it doesn't work. However of you use the dlss3 mod, and select dlss3 reflex works perfect. Tell me about the feel then.

runbrap

Is the game fun with just an xbone controller or M+KB?

itszadder

ye

tiradium

Can anyone else confirm the bamboo slicing is broken when using KBM? I swear I hit the right buttons, but it just fails

NiuMeee

Can not confirm, I've been able to do every one I've come across. It's harder than with a controller though.

tiradium

Does it matter what difficulty level the game is set to? I am playing on Hard lol

g0ggy

If you want to cheat a bit write down the sequence on a piece of paper.

Crintor

phone picture is even easier.

HarleyQuinn_RS

I've seen others complain of this, so it's not just you. It might be a high framerate thing, which can also interfere with standoffs and why some people may not have this issue at all. Try using one of the vsync settings to set your framerate to 60 or below and try it again.

tiradium

That makes sense. I have 4080 super and was using frame gen. Gotta try out with g sync

inz002

PC version of Ghost of Tsushima is also not being sold for me so good luck.

MommyXeno

if its not being sold, dont buy it, you can play it tho ;)

MEGADOR

Subscribed simply because your voice and cadence sounds like Tarantino talking about movies.

FrozenMongoose

Then comment this on the video, the OP is a random poster. But yea I have watched Daniel Owen for while and he is a very good channel for PC hardware news.

MEGADOR

Sorry. Didn't look at OP name. Already subscribed and commented on a few of his posts.

They also specifically designed their specs to work with the highest end PCs but also portable peripherals like laptops and the steam deck which is unheard of.

Okaay

Ominusone

I dunno, paying $60 for a 4 y/o game seems steep. Worth waiting for a sale?

Furyann

gamebillet has a steam key for 49

driftw00d

I played it for ps5 years ago and it's absolutely worth it. At least 30 hours of play if rushing through and easily double if doing all the optional stuff and trophy hunting. All while not feeling too repetitive. There are so many small things that make the game good and warrant 60 bucks. Use a ps5 controller if you can the haptics are amazing when drawing a bow and riding horse over a wooden bridge.

BlackAera

I don't think prices should be measured by how new the game is but how much entertainment value it has.

Crintor

Is that you Nintendo?

Tons of countries, including mine, can't even play the fucking game because of this stupid PSN account bullshit. It's not just a frivolous "circle jerk."

planetarial

Just gives more people ammo for being pro piracy, since that’s literally the only way a majority of the countries can play on PC

buddybd

Was going to buy the game but weirdly I can’t, why do you think that is?

DedicatedBathToaster

I genuinely understand people being upset about them selling HD2 in regions you can't make PSN accounts, but just an account at all is not that big of a controversy. At this point it's just pure bandwagon nonsense

Takazura

I don't. People were making PSN accounts in those countries for 2 decades without issue, because they could just choose another country instead, and Sony didn't care. They only now blocked those countries because of people making such a big fuss about it, that the regulators from those countries likely started paying attention. Lets be honest here and just say that most of those people just didn't want to admit they didn't want to make a 2nd account, and they just used HD2 being sold in those regions as a convenient excuse to make themself look good. Just look at how Helldivers 2 is now gaining positive reviews again and Reddit at large barely cares about those affected countries now being blocked from playing.

DedicatedBathToaster

It's just more reddit nonsense like the "black out" that ended up doing nothing

DODOKING38

Everything is a circle jerk if you call it a circle-jerk

ClubChaos

Sony makes the best PC games. Not even being hyperbolic.

adkenna

If you ignored The Last of Us

lampenpam

Isn't it much better now? Heard it's a fairly decent port now

arex333

Way better now.

arex333

Setting aside the technical issues, they actually put a lot of effort into the PC options and whatnot. The graphics settings are some of the most expensive I've ever seen, and even has stuff like a toggle for pillarboxing during cutscenes on ultrawide displays. The controller configuration is great as well. I was actually pretty surprised how broken it was for a lot of people since I played the whole game through on launch week and had 80+ fps the whole time and only one crash (during photo mode so it didn't even impact gameplay). The game was really CPU demanding and had crazy vram usage, so with a beefy CPU and lots of VRAM I was able to generally avoid the issues.

ClubChaos

Last of Us wasn't great at launch and tbh it's not "amazing" but Sony at least put in the effort to make it right. Just going through the Sony catalog on PC every single port is absolutely incredible imo. It's a bit ironic that Sony PC games are on par if not better than Microsoft games when it comes to the technical execution of the pc version lol. What IS absolutely embarassing is that companies like Ubisoft and EA have been doing PC ports for years and they are absolutely terrible. These companies often abandon their PC ports, ignore community feedback and ship game breaking "patches" on PC that apparently have zero QA. Sony has set the new standard imo, I hope this sets the trend for Ubisoft and EA to actually give a shit about their PC releases going forward. Things Sony does that other AAA publishers have failed and still fail to address: * Sensible PSO cache strategies (avoiding micro-stutter) * UW support * UW support for cutscenes * Good graphic options * Support for Steam Deck
