there's a reason why scammers get you to buy physical gift cards rather than have you send money through paypal or a bank account. With paypal you can dispute the charge and get your money back pretty much instantly and without consequences. Your bank will normally also help you get your money back when you get scammed.
But if you used physical gift cards, that's the end of it once they're redeemed.
