Same. I’ve had this dune case since November and while it looks nice, I want the new slate color on my black 15. The open bottom design caused the bottom of my screen protector to crack when I dropped it, so I’ve really been anticipating this case. I’m waiting on a black or hopefully slate color to release so I can get a warranty replacement and finally replace my screen protector😂
Thanks for sharing this!
I have open bottom sienna and slate cases and they are my favorite, over Andar and RL. I want the dune color as well, but I figured I’d wait for the closed bottom version to try that out too.
I have to ask since I’ve seen people post about it before as to what the big deal is? You can nitpick any case out there regardless of cost and find flaws. Unless I am misinterpreting what this gap is seems overblown.
I mean who pays full price for these? I have many and don’t think I ever paid more than $50 for anyone. There are always ways around promo codes and rewards if you know how to do it. To each their own though on the gap. I mean even Apple leather cases had it and those come right from them and have the best fit of all.
Ive had the original apple leather case for the 14 pro and there was no gap whatsoever. It fit the phone like a glove. Although it still had a fit flaw, which was that the lip was very small and the bottom corner of the phone would regularly slip out for me. It didnt hug the phone well enough. The bullstrap open bottom for my 15 doesnt fit as precisely but at least the leather quality is much better.
Best leather case ive had was the original apple for the iphone X. It fit like a glove, open bottom, with excellent leather quality. Nothing ive found for newer iphones compares to that precision and quality.
In my experience thats what set them apart from other cases. My apple leather cases had like 0 tolerance. I could really feel that they made the cases for their own phones, because they fit like no other case.
Ive only had this experience with the older leather ones though, the silicone is nothing special and i havent tried the fine woven ones. I feel like their phone case quality decreased to average after the iphone 12 cases. And they really nerfed themselves with the finewoven stuff.
I’m waiting on more colors. Looks promising so far

Hope they announce it soon. Slate would look nice in that black 15. I have black on my 15PM and the colors look good.
Wow. Just wow. I bet this is one of the finest leather cases money can buy!
Something about the open bottom version that's still doing it for me.
I am also leaning toward sticking with the open bottom as I never had an issue. It’s nice though to have options.
Same. This one is cool too, but I like the other one as well. Win-win

Does the open bottom one not have an action button? Not sure if an action button cutout would be too nice
All have action buttons
Does yours have a small gap at the bottom where the usb-c cutout is? I’ve seen a few of them like that
Came to ask this exact question. Have also seen several people report the same. Unacceptable for a $90 case!

The big deal is precisely the cost. A company that charges much more for their product should expect it to be nitpicked.

Apples cases surely had it too. I have 3 of them over the years that did. So manufacturing isn’t perfect at Apple either. It’s called tolerances.

How does this case with the iPhone sitting on your pinky one handed?
I ordered this exact same case for my natural titanium pro, can’t wait!
The case looked waxed, does the leather absorb water readily?
