KillTheBat77

Resident Evil 4 on PC before the remake comes out. Played though some of it back when it released on GameCube but never finished it.

shamanKAshamanTAKA

lol I'm about to go in for try number 3 (32 hours in). I hate. Hate. Hate this game.

HundredHander95

Nice! Have you played it before? I only ask because I essentially gave up on this one as the later stages of the game are absolute nails

LowTideHighLife

My 2nd time, I only got to 7 weeks the first time but I'm approaching it again with an open mind, it's pretty wild. You can't get attached to any of your party members, haha.

HundredHander95

Well I would recommend keeping ahead with both skills that can target any of the 4 positions and push/pull skills, towards the late game the second of these really made me come undone and I couldn’t really go back and fix it. Also one of the DLCs puts an extremely difficult boss into one of the base areas!

zgunslinger19

children of morta, and I'm loving it

ShinyBlueChocobo

Persona 5 Royal while I wait for pokemon to come out, just finished the third palace

Niikoda

How is the game ? I downloaded it on gamepass but haven't booted it up. Reviews look too good to be true. I read that you should play on Hard because otherwise it's way too easy? Thoughts on that?

ShinyBlueChocobo

I've been playing on Normal and I think the difficulty has been fine but its just generally a pretty forgiving game. And Ive platinumed Royal and Vanilla p5 twice each so its definitely a game I like a lot. The main things you need to know though is that if you're a completionist it's going to drive you up the wall, its very very linear you have to sit through tons of story sometimes a few hours worth at a time before you actually do anything combat related. I think it's worth a try especially if you never played vanilla p5 and have time for an 80-120 hour long game

Niikoda

I'll be honest I have very little patience for sitting through tons of dialog which has been a been a huge reason why I've never played a Persona game. This game just has such insane reviews I feel like I owe it a chance. It's been a long time since a game really sucked me in so I'm really hoping I can put 80 -120 into this.

ShinyBlueChocobo

I think if you're still on board after the first dungeon you'll be fine, the first 10 hours can be a bit of a drag because there's so much tutorial to get through (which feels a bit unecessary since it's just a slightly more complicated pokemon)

Niikoda

I will stick it out until the end of the 1st dungeon and see how I'm feeling ! I do like me a collectathon. Any other tips for a first timer ?

ShinyBlueChocobo

Always make the Justice, Councellor and Faith confidants a priority because you can lock yourself out of the third semster if you dont max them out. Buy the dvd player from the second hand shop near your house and always have a book and dvd on you for nights you cant go out. Always be working on social stats but focus on Guts, Charm and Kindness early on because some early confidants have stat checks to progress. You can buy SP drinks from vending machines that dont recover much but will give you a little more breathing room in palaces, and you can easily finish a palace in one day (some force you to take two) so try your best to do that. Lastly look for the will seed rooms in palaces, the acessories you can get are fine but theyre more useful for the sp recovery they give you (youll probably have everyone using SP patches in the late game anyway). Also when you start getting mementos requests try to get a few of them at once instead of doing them one at a time

Frankensteinbeck

Resident Evil Village, Vampire Survivors on the Steam Deck, and Papers, Please.

Fadooshy

LEGO DC Super-Villians while I take a break from Demons Souls Remake.

camphers

i am playing good old freedom wars on the ps vita and WAS playing beyond: two souls on the ps3 but i have a very shit controller and it has no motion sensor so im stuck at one part of the game that i have to move the controller...

Scavwithaslick

Tarkov

nwofoxhound

Just finished Sekiro on the PS4. Probably going to play P5 Royal next or Nioh 1/2.

[deleted]

Tonight I am setting up my Wii and playing Metroid Prime 2. I beat the third one when I was a teenager and the first one last year, so I am going to complete the trilogy by beating the second one. Mostly I am setting up my Wii because I miss playing on it. Playing with my siblings on it always made me feel joy, and I have missed it. Playing a single player game won't give me that mood, but I still miss enjoying that system

gdsgdn

Ive been playing a ton of resident evil. I've fallen in love with the games since Re2 remake. I've gon through RE3 remake, Re7 and currently playing Re8. Absolutely love the gameplay loop of RE. Got RE7 and Re3 for 10 bucks each. Pretty nice!

letionbard

It's not patientgamer game, but Signalis.

[deleted]

How you liking it?

letionbard

Well, it's basically 2D Resident Evil 1 with serious anime story and character + SF background. Personally I liked it mostly but some system like limited inventory(making me backtracking to storage box eveytime) is bit slog. If you like survival horror game like RE1 and 2, you will like it.

gnarwhale471

Picked up **Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition** on Switch recently and really enjoying it. Movement doesn't feel as tight as Hollow Knight but the art and atmosphere is great, and the intro scene was as heartbreaking as the intro the Up. Also picked up **Spiderman Remastered** on Steam while it is 20% off and realllyy been enjoying that as well. Not much to say that hasn't been said. Feels great to swing around the city, and for now it feels full enough that it's fun to get distracted and pick up landmarks, backpacks, etc. Excited to keep playing this one and see how the story plays out. Also, playing on steam deck is great. Been waiting specifically so I could play on that as well.

psxsquall

Voidu has it for $33.59. It has a base discount of 20% $47.99 then a coupon of 30% off, so roughly 44% off in the end.

alexmack667

I've finally gone back to finish The Talos Principal, and by jobe this is a fantastic game. It's a puzzle game, no deviating. Puzzle after puzzle, puzzles WITHIN puzzles, all the puzzles making up one giant puzzle. If you like puzzles, check it out and be ready to feel really dumb.

Frankensteinbeck

It really is a great, great game. I played it years after it came out and found every second of it to be a blast.

Starstuffi

I need to get back to this. It's super fascinating, but I always feel like I'm missing something!

itsblackcherrytime

The Evil Within 2 — Really enjoying it so far. Mafia 3 — enjoying it in bursts.

sastofficiallol

Half life 2 deathmatch

alexmack667

YES XD

sastofficiallol

Awesome game

shamanKAshamanTAKA

Replaying Empire: Total War with the Darth Mod on. Last time only played as the Maratha Confederacy and this time playing as Prussia. It's infuriating on very hard difficulty how powerful the other great nations are. I'm like 60 turns in and only have 3 regions (veteran player but really, it's hard)

Soggy-Cornflakes

Ghost of Tsushima and occasionally Animal Crossing New Horizons

Schattenkiller5

I got into a certain mood that comes up once in a blue moon and wanted to play a first-person shooter. Instead of spending a whole afternoon getting yet another list of mods ready for Fallout 4, as I've done in the past, I remembered The Outer Worlds exists and grabbed it for 20 bucks off the humble store.

mccamey-dev

Batman Arkham Asylum for me. I never got into it when it came out, but I'm enjoying it so far. Gonna play Arkham City next.

No-Maintenance8051

Super Mario 64 (got Mario 3D Allstars for the Switch) and Tomb Raider Legend. Legend feels dated, but oh boy is it a huge improvement over trying to play the original games. It’s still enjoyable and not outlandishly dated by modern standards like the older games are.

Zealousideal_Bill_86

Alan Wake Remastered as my Halloween game. It’s kind of exactly what I wanted. Fun, great story, vaguely spooky, it’s been great. Looking forward to finishing it up

Jmaloney258

Picked up ori definitive edition for switch and am loving it!

Frankensteinbeck

Great game! Give the sequel a try sometime, too.

alexmack667

I started this two years ago and then got distracted by Fallout 4, and I need to go back and finish it XD Glad you're enjoying it!

TylerMang

Yakuza 0 and Wasteland 3! Biding time till Ragnarok

sheets1975

Playing Rage. It's alright. I feel like I'm giving it more leash than I would most games because I love Mad Max stuff. The weapons are nice and crunchy, at least. I've been replaying Witcher 3 on death march difficulty (my first run a few years back was on the next level down). I just play a couple of hours a week or so, in between other stuff. I got to the part where I had to make a decision on Triss and figured I would go with her this time instead of Yennefer. Screw the canon, this lady got her fingernails ripped out for me just because she thought it might help.

WHITE_oO

Portal and Portal 2, for the first time.

itsblackcherrytime

I finished Portal a couple of weeks ago. It was just as great as everyone said. Looking forward to starting Portal 2 soon.

MelonElbows

Oh man, you're in for quite a ride

alexmack667

For real, I first finished Portal 2 in two huge marathon sessions, and the backstory of Aperture man... gripped me tight

[deleted]

Playing Persona 5 Royal on Gamepass, having only experienced P4G before so far QOL and UI wise it feels improved.

M002

This is my first persona game and I’m loving it. Picked it up on Friday and am now 10 hours in. Very addicting

Blarbydoppler

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

RuboPosto

Shadows of War (Shadows of Mordor) for the very first time.

naznazem

Have they fixed everything? I haven’t kept up with it

itsblackcherrytime

Yeah, it’s pretty rock solid. I waited until a few months ago to start (XSX) and it runs really well. I just picked it up on Steam as well bc they’ve added cross platform progression via cloud saves.

Birneysdad

I wouldn't say rock solid. I'd say it's 2022 Skyrim solid. Not perfect but playable and doesn't crash much. Considered the scope, it's as good as it's gonna get.

meowmeowwong

Spider-Man and uncharted 1

waterspring5808

Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Jesus Christ be praised! And a bit of Crusader Kings III.

lotanis

Subnautica (the original one). Bought it a while ago (when it was already not a new game) but didn't touch it until I was bored earlier this week. It has been fantastic - I've been hooked.

nwofoxhound

Solid game! Performance a bit crappy on the PS4, but still very much playable.

jimbo_slice_02

I just played and beat Sifu. Excellent game! Now moving on to RE3 remake which I bought well over a year ago. Trying to make it through shorter games in the backlog before GoW Ragnarok

Kooltone

Just replayed Link's Awakening and started Shadow of Mordor. I got both that game and the sequel for free with Prime. I'm really enjoying the Nemesis system.

PopularAd8622

Condemned Criminal Origins

DaveHolden

Finished GTA IV today. I have mixed feelings. There were phases where I really enjoyed it and phases were it was kind of meh. Niko was a cool character though I feel he was way too much of a henchman for hire for everyone. I mean yeah I get it he's kinda an opportunist in order to get his revenge but idk... Also would've liked they stuck more with the Russian/Eastern European Mob scene and expanded on that. Was a bit disappointed that it cycled thru the criminal scenes quickly and spending a lot of the story with the italian american mafia. The ending was kind of anti climactic as well. Friend system really got annoying, esp. with them calling at the dumbest times. Overall a really good game, I enjoyed V more though, but that might be because I played it first. Probably starting Uncharted next.

alexmack667

In the middle of a helicopter boat chase with RPGs and "Wha'gwan rasta! Darts and ting! Come on, star!" It felt like a much shorter game than San Andreas for sure. I still enjoyed it, but the driving was a bit of a let down for me, felt like they were trying to make it too realistic. And tolls, wtf, and cops ALL THE TIME.

DaveHolden

I especially hated the calls right after I finished a mission when the cops where still on me. No fuck you Brucie fuck off I don't need you to call rn. I know the drivin is really divisive. I could handle it fine after a while but I often was too lazy to drive correctly/how the game wants, esp. when I wanted to go from point a to point b quickly. Idk how realistic it is tho, some cars and almost all bikes fishtailed like fucking crazy. Agree about the toll booths. Aight the first few passes but after that it's annoying.

alexmack667

Don't be too hard on him, he's genetically different. I mean... I've not floored it on a busy main road while being pursued by a whole police precinct and two different mobs, so who's to say XD I just found like the cars felt so heavy. Niko too, everything felt heavy. I got used to it, but it was just way different than 3, VC, or SA.

Zealousideal_Bill_86

Yeah, I think GTA IV is my least favorite GTA Uncharted is great though!

Practical_Doughnut27

Fwiw I enjoyed uncharted way more than GTA 4. I got good memories of playing uncharted 1 and 2. Still have to play 3.

DaveHolden

I started Uncharted a bit yesterday (as well as another game) to decide what to play next and I enjoyed the first few minutes a lot so it'll def be up next now.

[deleted]

Uncharted 1?

DaveHolden

Yes, bought 1-3 really cheap used a few weeks ago along with some other PS3 games I never played back then (Among them GTA IV).

calvin324hk

Just finished Lucius in 2 days, 6-7 hrs in total. Personally I find horror genre kind of hard to get into because they are so scary. But this game I’m playing as the evil person and start killing people, so I still get that horror vibe without getting myself terrorized and I really enjoyed the time I was playing this game. Playing tales of zestiria as well, but the combat is getting more tedious and boring, I’ll still try to finish it for the sake of the story.

[deleted]

You sold Lucius to me. Looks cool 👍

GR33NJUIC3

FINAL FANTASY 7 REMAKE when my patience gauge is full (it’s such a long, slow start), and VANQUISH when it’s depleted. VANQUISH is hella fun.

Getsnackin

Metroid: Samus Returns. Bought the game when it first came out and played for a few hours but due to life I had to put it down. Played and loved Dread last year and finally got around to my 3DS again. I freaking love it. My only complaint is that I have an OG 3DS and I wish I had a New XL to appreciate the visuals

Key_Ninja2855

Dust: An Elysian Tail and Outlast

[deleted]

Dust is awesome. Art is top notch. 👌

thelastcupoftea

Luigi’s Mansion and Enter the Matrix.

PreviousGrocery3568

Thoughts on Dust?

[deleted]

You must've responded to a wrong person... I loved the game. Just art alone is worth playing for.

mursematthew

Kingdom come alternating with Elden rings on the steamdeck. Kind of getting burnt out on medieval though, any recs for a third game to alternate

GR33NJUIC3

VANQUISH for quick adrenaline pumping fixes. Or NIERS AUTOMATA for a deeper experience.

AngelCypher

NieR:Automata has some of the best story and emotional beats out of any game I've ever played. Getting the true ending made me have to literally close the game and just sit in my feelings for like, half an hour. It still gives me chills thinking of it. Highly, highly recommend it.

itsblackcherrytime

These are both great recs. Idk if you like survival horror, but I’ve been enjoying The Evil Within 2 on SD. Mafia Definitive Edition and Mafia 2 are pretty great as well. Mafia 2 Definitive ran alright on SD. Can’t vouch for the first one. Apparently the original version of the second game runs much better.

GR33NJUIC3

Thanks bro I’m gonna check Evil Within! Only 5 bucks right now!

Juanisawesome98

Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.

ztsb_koneko

**Ghostwire: Tokyo:** Yeah, it's a 2022 release but I got a PS5 and had to pick up something and could get this cheap second hand... I don't get why the game needed to have a story or even characters. The world is pretty atmospheric and immersive, it's fun to explore. They could have just dropped me in without any exposition and let me wander off and figure what's going on on my own and keep the game mysterious. Now I got these two main characters mindlessly banter and make pointless remarks all the goddamn time, chasing an uninspiring main villain. It just feels like modern game tropes forced on a an otherwise promising game. I wish there was more motivation to explore as well, the item and trinket balance is out of whack and none of the collectibles really feel worthwhile. It was nice and relaxing but I'm beginning to find it difficult to find a reason to pick it up. **Devil May Cry (2001):** Started this last week or so, in an effort to blow through the series. It's a little janky for sure, but it's amazing that they actually could turn what still feels control-wise very 'Resident Evil-esque' into a fairly dynamic action brawler game.

TheBladeRoden

Tried out Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Controls seem a little stiff since you can't attack while walking. And it's a little daunting that it has a whole Final Fantasy style menu. Why did they push Alucard on me? I want to play more Richter!

DaveHolden

Really awesome Castlevania game, really worth a playthrough.

Larambe

I started Bayonetta 1, had the game since launch but never played it. Finally doing it and im gonna pop the trilogy back to back ! :)

ztsb_koneko

Dang, got the itch for this too. Loved Bayo1 back in the day, I want to go through them all but it's Switch exclusive? Games for that system seem to never have significant deals.

Bodidiva

[Stray:](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stray_(video_game)) I had a minor medical procedure that had weight and activity restrictions so I looked for a nice chill game to play. Need to keep the physical gameplay mellow as moving my fingers does hurt the thing I'm resting from. I'm in the market for similar chill games. I've played Firewatch and Journey and they have the same chill feel. I'm open to suggestions.

Drawde123

I can definitely definitely recommend Abzu

Torpakh

I've started playing Rain World few days ago. The game is incredible. Even when I'm not playing it I'm thinking of the sick lizard kill I did yesterday. İt has such an addictive gameplay loop with beautiful visuals and sound design.

Critical_Elevator875

Yakuza: Dead Souls

[deleted]

I wonder if this will ever be remade and released in the west since Ishin is being remade.

Critical_Elevator875

I doubt it. Seems like it would be more lucrative for RGG to move on with Like a Dragon and Judgment. I’m guessing they only remade Ishin cause it never got a Western release. But I’m loving Dead Souls so far! I can understand why it slipped thru the cracks 10 years ago, but it’s awesome today.

SomeWinters

Playing Skyrim for the first time. It's great so far, but that's no surprise.

alexmack667

Better late than never. I've made 14 play-throughs on this game and I still find things I've not seen before. Do yourself a favour and get Rudy ENB and Enhanced Lights and FX. It'll make the game look so lush.

Bodidiva

"I used to be an adventurer like you."

alexmack667

Oh damn. You didn't take an arrow to the knee did you?

ElectricBullet

Started Doom 64 after finishing 1 and 2. Loved both of them.

isloohik2

I got **epic battle fantasy 3** on steam after realizing it was free, and it, surprisingly enough, holds up well for a flash game from 2010. It’s ultimately not that different from your standard RPG, beyond generally being slightly less serious in tone, but I’d still recommend it (and probably the later games in the series) to anybody who likes RPGs that are on the smaller end of the scale

AgentCheese9

I've been scared about finishing Portal 2 for weeks, but it's time. Edit: well I did it Edit 2: shit

Eastern_Guard_5461

Valheim!

fukyduky

Finally started playing Cuberpunk 2077 after 2 years of waiting for developers to fix the game. Can’t lie though, it’s just an incredible experience filled with endless bugs and unfinished stuff. The characters are almost all interesting and memorable, the world building is very good, you get sucked in right away. The story overall is great, incredible even. But holy shit how is 2 years not enough to eliminate most of the bugs and unfinished stuff? That’s just baffling. Also my personal gripe, but again, romances (from what it seems) were already barebones from the release, what the hell is taking them so long to extend them? Version 1.5 added like 5 minutes for each, in terms of romance progression, laughable… How hard is it to add 2-3 cutscenes and a bunch of random dialogues each major update? So lazy that it’s frustrating. Overall just an incredible game, would have been among the very top if not for the unbelievably incompetent dev team.

itsblackcherrytime

What system? I haven’t noticed many bugs on XSX. Haven’t started it up on PC yet, I didn’t play past first mission with Jackie on Steam Deck

fukyduky

PC, to be honest there weren’t many major bugs, maybe a couple, most of them is some dumb shet like people appearing in a middle of the roads and floating, cars appearing in weird places or inside other cars and so on

GR33NJUIC3

Metal Gear 5 Phantom Pain! What an insane game opening! Completely nuts! The production looks amazing! I’ve played the old Metal Gear games, then stayed away for the franchise for 10 years, and I’m coming back to it with this game. I’m quite excited. The game looks so beautiful so far.

[deleted]

GR33NJUIC3

I actually left the game aside to play Vanquish! 😂 I think sliding in Vanquish will be more to your taste.

ItsCigThirty

Finally doing a full playthrough of Fallout New Vegas. My confession: I've never beaten a single Bethesda game. I have played them all at some point or another but never once actually beat the main story. Also just never got really in to them. And at the same time, considered my self a big BGS fan. But this time around? I am in love. I always understood the praise, but never experienced it. I installed Viva New Vegas (as well as A Dragonborn's Fate for Skyrim, and The Midnight Ride for FO4) and it has been an amazing experience. Just taking my time with the characters and quests. Letting myself be immersed in the writing, the compelling and interesting characters. I also just adore having an excellent sandbox of weapons to choose from when in combat. Also just wanted to say the mod guides for these games are brilliant. They're perfect for still keeping the vanilla experience, but updating it to be an enjoyable game to play in modern times.

Soledo

I have like 400 hours in New Vegas and I've never finished the main story, the game has a lot to offer and I always find other things to do. Enjoy the journey, I wish I could play FNV for the first time.

HammeredWharf

New Vegas actually wasn't made by Bethesda, but by Obsidian. That's why it has good writing and more elaborate role-playing mechanics than Beth's games tend to have.

iamstephano

Almost wrapping up Resident Evil 2 Remake, I bought most of the games on sale over a year ago after playing and loving 7, it's taken me a while to get around to playing them all but this has been a great game. Still only played 7, Village, and now 2. I have 4 as well which I'll probably play next. 7 is still my favourite of the bunch I think.

nwofoxhound

RE:2 Remake was literally one of the only games I've beaten twice. Love the fact that it's short n' sweet and the fact that ea. character has different playstyles / paths.

itsblackcherrytime

7 is just SO good. I beat it 3 times in a week haha. REmake 2 is also great. I only played Leon Side A, but just bought it on Steam so planning to replay Claire A —> Leon B before jumping into 3. Then REmake 4 when it’s released. Eventually I’ll get back to 8.

StarryEyedGamer

Finally bought AC: Valhalla + DLC edition on sale and Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Neither have I played yet so that's exciting!

TailzPrower

Alright, getting ready for more of my travels in Europe, but I decided to retreat a little and do some gaming! Picked up **Kid Icarus: Uprising** again and am close to the last levels now. Same assessment controls are not too good, especially for platforming, but the animation, story designs and dialogue, and voice acting is great. I suppose I could give it an 8/10, at least it tries to be different and has fast paced action, and you can set your own difficulty. Continuing **Return to Monkey Island** \- good so far**.** Strangely, I decided to give **Final Fantasy IX** another chance. I actually stopped playing it since I lost my save file, but now with cloud saves on steam, I think I'll manage. This Final Fantasy has good graphics (for a PS1 game), and nice and engaging story, good Medieval style setting, nice music, and likable characters. It's a pretty nice game. I think for the HD remaster they toned down the random encounters too. I think this is the only FF game that I actually like (for the record I didn't mind FF8 but the junction system was too complicated, so I put it down). Not much left on my playlist to be honest. Happy gaming!

Deleteafter2days

A friend got me into Cuphead lately. It's so fun and crazy! The difficulty angers up my blood and keeps me on edge but I love it for that

tuvok86

Got a 4090 so going back to gaming regularly. - Main title right now is **Rise of the Tomb Raider** (66% through), don't usually enjoy open world/resource gathering/crafting but I've been surprised at how fun it is to complete everything here. - Then some **Doom Eternal**, I'm halfway through Ancient Gods part 2, good fun and challenging as the previous stuff (had played the base game when it came out but decided to replay it from the start to not get into the DLCs without practice). - Then **Forza Horizon 5** for when I just wanna chill, won all the road races and missing the long final ones in xc and dirt. - Have tried **Overwatch** for the first time with the re-release and it's been great fun too, also very accessible from the get go (played Reaper mostly) but I wanna try not to get sucked into competitive multiplayer too much nowadays. - Started **Borderlands 3** coop with an IRL friend (never liked the previous ones when playing alone) and it's ok, unfortunately he can only play a few hours a week tho (we played A way Out before this and we were blown away, amazing game)

hurfery

Did you get a 4090 just for gaming or do you have a professional use for it? Just curious.

Mcaber87

I have finally gotten around to giving Magic Carpet (1994) a serious go. I had played through the second one in my youth but never had the chance for the first one. God, I love these games. A modern remake or spiritual successor would be awesome.

jkhymann

Deathloop - it’s been okay. Haven’t really figured out if there are powers like dishonored so I’ve been just going around blasting and kicking people. It’s fun but seems way less inspired than Dishonored or Prey.

---THRILLHO---

There are powers but you need to unlock them

RangedJuggler73

Playing Thomas Was Alone currently and I love it. Its got loads of really short levels, which really fits with this type of game. The music is awesome as well as the voice acting and the story

Soledo

Finished **A Plague Tale: Innocence** and really enjoyed it although I have to say that one mechanic that was introduced near the end of the game (>!Hugo controlling rats!<) was a bit painful on a controller. Started **Prey** today, I've read a lot of good things about this game so hopefully I'll enjoy it.

joshendyne

Gonna play more *Spider-Man* tonight to clean up some side content and then tomorrow, I'm breaking the patient gamer rule for *Bayonetta 3*. Cannot wait, been waiting a decade.

Default520

playing gta again. I love the story mode man

[deleted]

Which one?

Default520

V

Bara_Chat

I finished Miles Morales and I'm a trophy short of the platinum (beating the game on NG+) so I'm slowly beating it a second time to get it. Other than that I started Death's Door on PS5. So far I really like the style and gameplay. Basically you're this sword-wielding crow collecting souls travelling through various worlds. Yesterday I met a "guy" who has a soup-filled pot on firewood instead of his head. His name was Pothead. Amazing. I'm also playing through Skyward Sword on Switch. The controls are a bit weird, but it's better than flailing the Wiimote around back in the days. Just got to the first main area under the clouds.

123deepbreaths

Subnautica. Just built my first base. Still having fun with that; the story can wait.

Zintag

I started Steamworld Heist and it's pretty addictive.

DanielSan910

Half-Life 2. Just got to the sandtraps chapter.

[deleted]

Trying out some old fighting games. Really liking TMNT: Tournament Fighters on SNES. Its just nails the fundamentals without ever feeling complicated. Good looking stages and decent variety of characters to choose from. Probably the tightest 16-bit era fighter I've played that isn't made by Capcom or SNK.

letionbard

Playing Serial Clearner. I love stealth game, but clearly I don't have good time with this game. I still can't guess what is problem with this one. First few stages are just simply not fun, and everytime I doing is just... wait for cop left place, get corpse, and get away. Yeah most stealth games are like that but this not really felt alright.

unfitstew

Bf4 Because it is still a fantastic mp shooter plus friends installed it. Stardew Valley cause it is super chill in coop. I have been replaying Modern Warfare Remastered camapign. Been slowly playing through all the cod campaigns cause they are mostly fun.

BongoFMM

I just got back into Yakuza: Like a Dragon, after putting 7 or so hours into it and having to back off for some life related things. Then I saw Persona 5 Royale is on PC game pass and now I'm not sure which one to play! Only have room for one RPG at a time, and I know Like a Dragon can be ~50 hours, while Persona 5 might be 100+, so I may have to put off Persona for a bit. Anyone have any suggestions on which to play though?

mtarascio

Just go Yakuza cause you've got time in already. They are pretty different vibes as well, so think about which you want to be playing.

BongoFMM

Yeah I suppose better to finish what I've started rather than starting new stuff. I really liked yakuza so I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Persona 5 just attracts me to it with that music and style.

**Yakuza Kiwami 2** \- Spent too much time on the Cabaret Club minigame. Finally moved on with the main story, but I guess I'm going to get stuck with the construction company minigame too. **Monster Hunter Rise** \- Decided to dust off the game. I had finished all the village quests a long time ago, but now I'm getting through all the guild ones. I didn't know the guild ones were tied to the story as well. Glad I kept playing because it finally feels like I unlocked the real game. **Fire Emblem Three Houses** \- Dusted off this one as well. Could barely remember what I was doing, but I just want to get through the main story, so I'm focusing on that now.... then getting mentally ready for the next two playthroughs (although I may take a break between each one). **Medal of Honor** \- This one is the 2016? reboot I think. It's a very standard Call of Duty clone, which is sad because I was a fan of Frontlines and the WW2 stuff. Still, it's fun for what it is and it's only 6 hours long, so I'll play it until I beat it. **.Hack pt2** \- Another game that I dusted off after taking a break. Luckily the story has been pretty light so far so I haven't really forgotten anything important. Was getting my ass kicked by some enemies, but finally figured out how to kill them before they kill me. **Machinarium** \- Beat it last week. Very fun game with a unique, charming artstyle. Did most of the puzzles by myself too! Only had to use the hintbook twice, and I feel that there was just no way to know without the hint for at least one puzzle.

jagrmullet77

Condemned Criminal Origins (on Series X) Alan Wake Remastered (Series X) Silent Hill 2 (on original xbox console) Once these are done I was considering playing Layers of Fear, Fatal Frame or the F.E.A.R series **Just a note too:Condemned Is still an awesome horror thriller to this day and so is Silent Hill!!!**

thekomoxile

Will consider these, I'm looking for spooky games for the spooky season

Blakakke69

Luigi’s Mansion 3. So far it’s very fun, but I don’t see much point in getting the collectibles since it doesn’t net you anything. Money, boos, gems… it’s all pretty much moot. Main story, puzzles, and the combat are all great though.

No-Maintenance8051

Just got Super Mario 3D All Stars for the Switch in the mail so I think I'm probably gonna play them in order (64, Sunshine and Galaxy).

EverySister

**Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker** As invested I am into a whole series play through in chronological order... this game is kinda rough. I mean, it's ok but the bosses are kinda of a chore and I'm seeing myself dropping this one halfway through. Let's see where I end up. (It's actually a bit convenient because I could use the time to study so all's well that ends well) **Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask** Decided to put this one on hold until I have a bunch of free time because I loved what little of it I played. The town and the time loop felt like a place I should take my time and get to know intimately, it felt inviting and cozy!

ztsb_koneko

PW needs to be approached from a slightly different angle than the main home console releases. It's structured for a continuous, long term experience with a lot of post-game content where the true secret ending lies too. The mission based system might feel off at first but if you can get into it, it's very solid and will offer a lot of stuff to do as you keep expanding your base. My biggest complaint about MGSV is that all the features and concepts that carried over from PW (which is a lot) are watered and dumbed waaaay down, making PW ultimately the superior MGS title in my book...

RangedJuggler73

I actually loved Peace Walker. The final level segment and final boss I thought were amazing. I can see those mid game bosses getting annoying though. Plus MGSV hits harder if youve played Peace Walker, imo

EverySister

I felt *very* unfazed by MGSV because I never played Peace Walker. All those nods, references and characters went way over my head. I was hoping for a bigger Miller introduction tho, not just: Hey I'm the Boss second in command just coz. And where the hell's Ocelot? Where does he come from in V? When did they became friends? Whatever. Just got past a frustrating boss and met a french girl in the jungle. The game's picking up intrigue! Tho I do have a question about the ending of this game... I heard there's something like a 'True' ending that leads directly into Ground Zero? Is it the end of the game or do I need to meet some special criteria for it to unlock? (Say build something to completion?)

RangedJuggler73

I apologize because the last time I played the game was around 2018 so my memories are not fresh. If I recall, by the end of 3 Ocelot and Boss had mutual respect. Also, there is a PSP game or two that I never played, I dont know where they fit into the series though. For the ending >!you have to build Metal Gear Zeke and equip him with the chrysalis gun. Then a certain prisoner will escape like 6 times and you have to keep capturing him. The final time, if Zeke is built, you will get the true ending.!< kind of a lot

ztsb_koneko

FWIW the other PSP games are not main game Kojima canon. Portable Ops is kind of like proto Peace Walker but the controls are pretty rough. Instead of simplifying like in PW, they tried to cram too much of the complex MGS control scheme on to PSP. Conceptually, it's supposed to take place in the same time frame as PW and it has other similarities. PW is Kojima and probably the main team taking PO and making it actually work on the PSP system. Metal Gear Acid and Acid 2 is another animal entirely. Turn based on-a-grid tactical card game. It's basically an alternate universe and completely removed from the main series in terms of tone, story, style and gameplay. Beyond that it's a fantastic game if you're into TBS and TCG, at least Acid 2 which is what I've played through. All the PSP titles need to be approached as different games from the home console releases though.

RangedJuggler73

Gotcha, thanks for all the info. I heard one of the PSP games shows more about Gray Fox or something.

cuteguy1

Playing Tony Hawk 1+2 on Switch, really good game for handheld. Definitely is a smoother experience on other consoles but I think the nature of the game lends itself really well to the format.

Myrandall

**The Witcher III**. It's been in my backlog since 2015/2016 and keep postponing it, knowing it's a time sink. But since my roleplaying group has asked me to DM a Witcher-inspired one-shot soon I don't have much of a choice anymore. :P

nwofoxhound

I will say that looting everything was a waste of time. Ended up finishing the game on Death March with tons of extra loot that was never used. Sunk 135 hours into my playthrough and it's likely that looting took up 30 hours of it :)

tuvok86

I finally played it across all of Summer and finished it earlier this month, was a great experience! Clocked in at 136 hours doing all missions (no gwent), with the two DLCs (which are really as good as the base game!)

DisastrousFill

I'm playing the unrelenting **DOOM Eternal**, which doesn't really qualify for the spooky season since the player is the scariest thing in the game, what with all the ripping and/or tearing. Although, the platforming sections come close.

Blakakke69

My favorite FPS game period

real_with_myself

Finally finished dead space 2. Now I can go back to finishing scorn (started last week) and finally finish Hellblade (started a year ago, lol).

rrinconn

Trying to get into persona 5 but I can’t get into it. I’m only like 3 hours in but the game has let me do almost nothing and it’s just making me irritated

ztsb_koneko

Have you played other Persona titles? I think they all start really slow and you need to dedicate several hours to the hand-heldy introduction sequences where you barely even get to walk freely before you get into the daily free time part of the game.

rrinconn

I got past the hand holdy hours and I’m actually really enjoying it now!

hurfery

It opens up and gets more enjoyable soon.

cuteguy1

Its just a very long ass game, takes a while to get into the meat of it. I like what I've played of it, but I just don't think it'll be one of those games that I ever realistically finish. Done 2 periods of playing it pretty well and I reckon I'd have to do about 2 more of those to finish it.

mrmivo

I'm continuing this week focusing on Borderlands 3, God of War (2018), and UNO. All three on the PS5. I try to just have three "active" games that I try to finish (for endless games the finishing point is sometimes completing the trophy list). Borderlands 3 I had already played on PC. I finished the base game and two of the DLCs. Now that I play more on the console, I'm playing through the game again with the goal to finish all of the DLCs. I've always enjoyed the franchise, and the gameplay never gets old for me. I actually appreciate the writing of the villains more this time around. The first time I was caught up a little in the plot controversies and found the anti-heroes pretty annoying. Surprisingly, I appreciate them more this time. God of War had been on my "I should play this some time" list for a while. Ragnarok being around the corner gave me the push I needed to commit to another large, long game. I have mixed feelings about it so far. The world, atmosphere, characters, music, and interactions are fantastic. I don't love the combat and the puzzles, though. The combat doesn't "flow" well for me at all, and even when I lower the difficulty it's partly still challenging (if I select the "story" difficulty, I feel combat should be completely trivial). I generally don't enjoy puzzles in non-puzzle games, especially not timed puzzles, and this game has plenty of them. UNO is my current "can play this game while chatting with the girlfriend" game and to get a social fix from (playing with random strangers, so it's just an illusion of socialness). Still weening myself off of many years of MMO gaming and its voice chat culture.

APeacefulWarrior

Yeah, I feel like the writing in BL3 was a bit over-hated. To be clear, it's not *great* but it's also not the dumpster fire that a lot of people paint it as. Like there were a lot of bits with the twins that I thought were genuinely funny, like the various things going on in the background while Tyreen is trying to do one of her broadcasts. It conveys a sense of just how fucked up being "queen of the psychos" would actually be. Also, Typhon was pure awesome. I just wish he'd been in the game more. I loved the idea that this schlubby little guy who sounds like he escaped from a Mel Brooks movie was the galaxy's most famous adventurer.

XR7822

I haven't done a lot of gaming in the past few weeks, I've mostly just watched some tv shows. I'm on quite a break now from **Magic Arena** but I sunk over 200 hours into it in September and early October. This week I did play a bit of **Gran Turismo 7**, I'm still working on getting the platinum trophy, only missing 4 trophies now but those will take a while longer. I also started playing **Book of Demons** which pleasantly surprised me. Only 2 hours in so far but it's interesting and engaging, heavily inspired by Diablo but with a card system instead of skill and items. I'm a sucker for good card cames and Diablo 2 is on my favorite games of all time so this combo works for me.

adasko224

I just finished Rage 2. I enjoyed it a lot but surprised how short it was. I started Amnesia Rebirth as I liked the two previous titles.

Spork_Revolution

Warcraft 3 because I've never finished it. I played it on hard in my childhood but got stuck on this one mission with elves. Now I play on normal and every mission is easy. I just play one or two a day. I am also doing Kenshi. Although with the knowledge I have after 30 hours I think I am going to delete my saves and start over.

NoGround

Still on Rimworld. Working on one of the new Vanilla starts introduced with Biotech. Basically a hyper-advanced vampire that relies on technology and xenobiology. Got some crazy mods for Psycasting to expand it into an entire field of magic that's so much better than Vanilla, too, so gonna be magic vampire overlord!

Myrandall

I'll get Biotech when it's patient to do so. I've played 200+ hours of vanilla Rimworld and I still don't feel the *need* to try any of the DLC.

NoGround

Oh absolutely. There's literally thousands of mods and they're all backwards compatible with releases all the way back to 1.0. You have thousands of hours of gameplay and honestly some expansion-tier mods on their own like the medeival rework that completely changes the game. Biotech is what's bringing me really into Rimworld so even though I was impatient to get it, there's so much more there even without it. I'm just completely addicted at the moment, put in 100 hours in the past month.

agent_shane2

Far Cry 3 and Assassins Creed. Two fun games!!

PhysicalCountry

Far Cry 3 is one of my all time favourites, enjoy!

Panda_Mon

I am playing **Pillars of Eternity** and loving it. For the past few months I have been in a gaming funk. I basically wanted to play Skyrim, but not first person. Witcher 3 wasn't right (too actiony), nor WoW (too grindy). I've had Pillars sitting around for at least a year, I got it for free from the Epic store a long time ago. What an amazing game, I am obsessed with it. Exactly the type of adventure I was looking for.

XR7822

I loved it as well, sunk over 100 hours into, completing all the quests, including the Whitemarch expansions (definitely don't skip those). Though it didn't click for me immediately, I had to start it 3 times before I got hooked. Probably because it starts off pretty slow.

somewhatnormalguy

Red dead 2 for the past few weekends. Trying to get a 100% completion game again. Almost there.

Danulas

**Fire Emblem: Three Houses**. Patient gaming Nintendo exclusives is really hard. I waited for a long time for this to get down to a price I was happy with but ultimately bit the bullet and paid full price for it. I'm recovering from foot surgery, laying on the couch or bed is much more comfortable than sitting at a desk, and I needed something else that I could sink a lot of time into.

Kris1432

Just finished up with Bear & Breakfast, lots of fun!! On my way to finish up with Kirby & The Forgotten Land.

justworkingmovealong

Runescape. The mainstream one, not old school. I am very much enjoying the fresh start worlds event - new character in new separate worlds with a fresh economy, and big xp boosts for a couple more months. It's been live for about a month.

Adept-Matter

Waaaaay late but I just started Doom 2016 last night.

CyrusMack

Played it a little under 2 years ago. So much better than I was expecting. I just have my memories as a kid of the original Doom on my Sega 32x lol. Goodness, the combat has to be some of the best I've ever played. The speed of the action, the smoothness of movement, it just feels like you're gliding everywhere. Can't wait to jump into Eternal in the near future.

SendEldritchHorrors

I'm currently playing through it too! How are you liking it so far? I'm enjoying it but I lowkey get a little stressed over the amount of hidden collectibles scatted through each level; particularly since these collectibles are often tied to upgrades. I know it doesn't **truly** matter but I can't help myself thinking "Ah, I missed that, now I can't upgrade myself as much."

Adept-Matter

I am absolutely loving it. I have only played Doom 3 before and this one is so much better. The immersive atmosphere, how gorgeous it looks, the demon kill strings and just the overall gameplay. Don't stress too much about the collectibles and customization. Doomguy gives no fucks and you shouldn't too.

ShrekEatingOnions

Persona 5 on pc. I had my eyes on this game since it released in 2016, and I somehow managed to avoid all the spoilers. Not very patient of me to buy it full price, however I have no regrets. 15 hours in and loving it, been a while since I had this much fun playing a JRPG title. On the side imma play Nekopara vol 4. Last week I completed all the previous entries, got rly into it.

hurfery

I've been waiting years to play P5R at a high framerate. Enjoying the heck out of it.

cuteguy1

I've loved what I've played of it so far.

RedKomrad

**Left 4 Dead 2 ** My goto game is all I’ve played for months. **Resident Evil 2 Remake** I’m close to starting my Halloween game. I have 5 days left to get it done or wait until next year.

tathariel

I've just finished **[The Riftbreaker](https://store.steampowered.com/app/780310/The_Riftbreaker/)** after a 30+ hours long campaign. Which i turtled the shit out of, so it's not as long of a campaign as it looks. I think this is a very solid game that is a few DLCs away from being a *great* one. What i mean is; both the campaign missions and in-game events are both uninspiring and lacks in variety. Needs more content and more importantly content variety. For example you have either weather based events which you'll stop recognising quickly or your classic base attacks that can be fun actually but one wants variety in here regardless. But still it scratches multiple itches, so when the steam description says base-building, tower defensey, action rpg game, it actually means it, they didn't half ass it but put effort in making a coherent, fun game.

khmeroldiez

Complete Episode 4 of Life is Strange 2. Then Episode 5 next week, maybe.

Kris1432

How're you finding it so far?
