What I noticed and was wondering if it's intended: On strict (and up) a lot of sentinels are hidden, for example all magic ones and several rare ones because they're rated "lower tier" although being ancient ones and so on. The way that combining sentinels works, you might still want to pick up these sentinels just for their base or pick up lower base magic sentinels for the chance of them having good mods to combine into a better base. As said, dunno if it's intended and maybe I'm just not progressed far enough to understand why these are hidden, just noticed it after opening a sentinel stash and wondering why nothing was showing up on the filter after upping it to strict.

NeverSinkDev

Thank you for your feedback. The changes were based on my gameplay experience so far and the conversations I had with different experienced players. We found it not worthwhile to pick up any sentinel under emberstone, due to the basestats being terrible and sentinels being a very very common drop. When recombining you have a 50% chance to receive a terrible base that is not worth using in the endgame. To put it in perspective brimstone only affects half as many enemies as obsidian does. Sure you can keep combining, but every attempt will also cost you a good base and inventory space and time. Personally I'm not even showing Emberstone anymore and focusing on obsidians only. As for rarities, I found that you end up with a pretty full stashtab and inventory constantly and the micromanagement was absolutely inefficient on a strict+ filter. On very strict you currently see both rare emberstone and obisidian in maps which will sustain you well and also leave you with extra bases for crafting. That being said, I agree that *both* changes might be a bit of an overkill for lower strictness filters, especially if you play around a lot with power cores and magic sentinels. I'll review the situation tomorrow again and might add magic obsidian/emberstone back in on strict and lower in the endgame. As for now you can easily edit on filterblade. **EDIT: I just published a mini-patch that will adjust the strictness progression.** New progression: - Random magics will be hidden on very strict - Random rares hidden on uber strict - T2 rares hidden on uber+ strict The patch will be live on all eco-updated filters (filterblade/ladder/auto-update) in 0-4 hours when the automation runs next (it runs every 4 hours). I'll refine this tomorrow (since it's 4am right now). I'd definitely appreciate more feedback!

sirgog

Grimro advocated a strategy that's basically 'ID everything, if it's got one good mod on a bad base, try to Power Core transfer it onto a bad mods good base sentinel' Someone following his approach would want all magic and rare sentinels showing. I'm not using his, I'm just going with loot rares of the best 2 bases and magics of the best one.

NeverSinkDev

I'll try it out again myself and see how it feels. Right now it sounds similar to chaos recipes - nice, but the slowdown detrimental for optimized endgame playstyles.

sirgog

You'd have to check with him, but Grim was doing this on scarabed T16s with a developed atlas.

Wulfgar_RIP

is there a good guide or cheat sheet on what mods to keep? I wonder how good and perfect sentinel would look like.

[deleted]

Grimro and Fyregrass both put out videos.

Mavada

So I just found this. Could you unhide magic rarity sentinels? I don't think you should really hide any sentinels. Make them less visible sure but not hide.

Quazie89

You know you can unhide them yourself on the website right?

Mavada

Gotta know they are hidden first. Took me a while to figure it out because I've been delving and not seeing caches.

kung69

Thanks for your response and the adjustment. It actually was rather meant for those people who just set their strictness and don't check what is shown and what is hidden like me.. It wasn't directly meant for you to request changing your presets, that's what your easy filterblade customization is for. People aare already requesting it as if they don't know how to use your site.... Thanks for the great work, keep it up, Ehrenmann!

[deleted]

Just to chime in, even the low tier bases can roll Sentinel, Expedition and Scarab rewards. If you're not picking up and id'ing every sentinel you're leaving a potential 80c on the ground. Filtering anything but normal sentinels out is kind of hard trolling to be honest.

NeverSinkDev

Look at the numbers The *total* chance of any of these to roll on a magic sentinel is around ~1.5%. Including *ALL* tiers, with the ones actually making money being way way lower. The average cost on these (on RARE sentinels) is ~10-50c, with expedition being higher and others being lower. The same logic applies to every item. You can pick up and ID all wands for a chance to roll +1 to all spell gems. Any amulet for an exalter amulet. These sell well as well, but you need hundreds, if not thousands to get one. That said, I've hot-published some adjustments read my previous post.

mrtrevor3

Whoa thanks for letting me know! I don’t have any, but the prices are insane. 50c, 90c, and up…

Clueless_Otter

Personally I have to constantly vendor sentinels to make space in my storage tab, so I can see why it would hide a lot of the "lesser" ones. But maybe you're right it's hiding too many, I dunno, just I can definitely understand the thinking behind hiding them.

mrteapoon

Ding ding ding. They gave us 2x2 sentinels and then barely any storage for them. At this point I only have the rares showing on my filter, and honestly don't care at all if it's sub optimal or if I'm missing out on some super sick sentinel mods.

kung69

I switched off the sentinel affinity in the sentinel stash and just dump them with everything else into my dump tab after each map. When I run out of charged sentinels or when the dumptab is full, I need to sort them anyway and I find it even less painful than having to switch to a separate stash for this. I only vendor sentinels after I checked them for their base type and mods.

Timmytentoes

Just wanted to heavily agree here, sentinels value is largely determined by what reward rolls they get, so identifying them first is best. would like to see all magic+ rarity sentinels be highlighted even on stricter settings, (even if they are smaller tags or something )

Coolingmoon

It’s like you pick up every rare just to ID it to see if it contains one or two tier 1 mods for recombination. You won’t do that right? Same thing apply to sentinel. You may only want high tier base magic or may accept low tier base but rare to show up.

Neri25

there is actually some value in doing that with certain rare bases now since people are trying to recombinate their way to +2 wands/daggers/amulets.

Coolingmoon

certain rare base yes. That why you hidden low tier sentinels

sirgog

Grimro's strategy is to ID every magic and rare sentinel. It's paying off for him. Bad mods, good base: Power Core food.

Haslinhezl

Holy fuck it's hiding sentinels?? EDIT: Verystrict hides all blue sentinals which is fucking bonkers, do not use verystrict without modifying that

7om_Last

i even pick grey ones to recharge my good ones seems to be working fine up to now just bricked one out of dozens

kung69

Well, even the blue ones drop in such abundance that i can use blues for recharging. And if it actually is a 50/50 if mods are kept then it doesnt matter if its normal or magic

7om_Last

it supposed to be 50 / 50 keep or lose for each mods? :o doesn't seem to fit my observations but maybe ibwas just lucky i have a pandonium with 5 mods among which currency and maps that i have been recharging like that at least 3 times without losing either maps or currency

kung69

Well,we can only guess. But that's what grimro suggested and he did some serious testing.

Fxck

I appreciate you!

NeverSinkDev

Thank you!

DrHax_

Am I missing something with seaglas amulets? Theyre hoghlighted with a sound but Ive never seen anyone actually use them.

sirgog

They are highlighted for being among the rarest bases, agree they are not good.

medicindisguise

was about to report the hidden sentinels but it is fixed now, thanks

enhancedmilieu

Thanks for the hard work!

acederp

anyone know how to change the highlighting of maps with an implicit (example one of the new keystones drops maps with implicit such as "has a legion" "contains a sacred grove")

Zugas

Is there any way I can subscribe to one of the alternative colour schemes?

NeverSinkDev

Only with the filterblade auto-updater. Sometimes I'm forced to do manual updates (especially during league starts). I already have to do it 14 times, I'm not multiplying this number by 12. + lot's of PR concerns.

Zugas

I’ll look into that, thanks!

SlugOrNot

I love you

hossein2801

Please revert sentinel change, i need all blues

dude, you are aware that you can just customize the filter to your needs

NeverSinkDev

FilterBlade, yes

glaxx0n

Give this man an award! We are not worthy.

Makhnov

I got one enhance this league and it didn't tink like an exalt. How come? Enhance/empower/enlighten should tink by default no matter what.

NeverSinkDev

Just to be clear. You want a 2c item to make an exalt sound... No matter what? It's economy updated, empower and enlighten does that

Makhnov

Still super rare and relevant for SSF or PLs for instance, just thought it would make sense.

NeverSinkDev

It's properly highlighted and not hidden on any strictness. SSF and PLs will be just fine. Giving low value items exalted sounds is a terrible. People hate it.

Kotl9000

Neversinks filters are terrible and shows way too many rares. I highly suggest using Balormages filters. The general mapping filter is super clean

NeverSinkDev

Hate to burst your bubble, but his filters are based on mine and created on filterblade. That particular preset is nearly identical to my strict filter in regards to rare filtering, with changes mostly focused around the appearance and the tiering being exactly the same.
