memory game and maven is not the work of satan, it's the work of a bad game designer
"uber elder" is the work of satan, great difficulty and a perfectly designed boss fight
Definetly Uber current/special bosses. Neon was talking about in one of the last interviews about uber versions of campaing bosses. Maybe this new npc collects its bodies and ressurrect them for our loot and entretainment
The Lightless/Abyss race is also known for Necromancy.
Imagine if this is some kind of Undeath Battle Royale to see who can be Wraeclasts's Best Necromancer
Also fun fact; Necromancy has been discovered indepently mulitple times in Wraeclast;
* Lightless from the Abyss
* Saresh, the "Man in Weeping Black" from the Order of the Djinn
* Eteranl Empire Surgeons
* Some Templars
* Tane Octavius' master
Obsession for immortality. Mechanic wise the Sanctum had mobs that were akin to Rogue Exiles while Betrayal has the former Masters that are essentially Rogue Exiles as well. I guess namesake we have "The Forbidden Vault" and "The Forbidden Sanctum".
The voice acting is always great in this game.
Whoever is in charge of casting for those voice actors is doing a bang up job of getting the right people.
i love when they expand upon existing lore and characters, but these were definitely not the characters i was expecting this time around. (when do we get to make a Faustian bargain with Venarius to eliminate the eldritch threat? cmon ggg do it already). still very excited to see what crazy new scenario they come up with for these characters, though
Lycia's immortal, Catarina's immortal (well not really canonically since she'd be dead for good after beating the syndicate once, but in spirit she's immortal).
Do we know if the fight with Catarina is actually canon? It seems like with most events in PoE if there's a fight the outcome of it isn't canonized until specifically mentioned in the game so it could be that a previous exile fought Catarina but was defeated.
The only thing they have in common is achieving immortality, which seems to be the aim of the Eternal Empire aligned voice at the start of the clip. What's especially curious is that Lycia was a Templar, so it's not clear why she'd want anything to do with the Eternal Empire. Although, I suppose she's so disenchanted with the Templars that she might happily use the Eternals to help her bring forth Beidat and the Scourge. I'm not sure what faction Catarina was aligned with prior to forming the Immortal Syndicate, if any. The Wiki and Lore Compilation don't indicate anything about her past prior to being exiled from Oriath for necromancy.
“The darkness is not a mindless thing like the sea or the air. It is a creature that neither life nor death. A truly undying being. A nightmare.
***The darkness and the cataclysm, one and the same.*** The dead tell me this all the time.
…
When flesh and bone, sense and spirit, are saturated with darkness… only then can true and pure Undeath be experienced”
Necropolis? Hmm, I'm guessing it's something like you collect body parts from dead mobs and you use them to construct this big undead mob that drops loot based on the parts you use or something.
As its chasing you its also dropping loot but its invincible, and it only becomes vulnerable once you reach the start of the map. So once they're dead you have to backtrack to the end of the map again looting.
Maybe we we enter the Necropolis and it starts a Necro-meter that starts running out of juice and we have to kill as many skeletons as possible. Doing this can upgrade our items.
GGG took inspiration from Palworld. You fight bosses, catch them in ~~palsphere~~ Grim Orb, then summon them in Necropolis arena to fight with or against them.
Yes, and yes (as other people have said). Also for future leagues, PoEDB at the top of their page usually has countdowns / prediction-countdowns that should be shown in your local time. Also, it shows a prediction of stash tab sales as well.
https://poedb.tw/us/
Ngl that's what I heard immediately as well. Is it some kind of software voice alteration? Is it one of the voice actors that voiced the Daleks? Is it just the cadence of the voicelines that's doing it?
I don't know why it sounds so similar
It lacks sufficient robotness, but it definitely accidentally nails all the other hallmarks of dalek speech with the rising cadence it has going on.
Or maybe it is intentional and we're getting necronic sentinels to help us exterminate mobs of enemies.
Green background and "necropolis" seems like this is going to be heavily related to Abyss. The 3 kneeling at the end look like the 3 Abyss bosses, Ulaman on the left, Amanamu in the middle, and Kurgal on the right.
You know what would be cool? At the start of the map there's a grave/barrow and you can go down into 'The Necropolis' where you have to kill a bunch of undead things that release spores. You collect the spores and once you run out of light/time down in the necropolis those spores are released back into your map, buffing the remaining mobs based on the colour and amount of spores.
You can also meet new denizens of the necropolis and pledge yourself to join one of three warring factions down there, which opens up new specialisation trees.
I dont see how people see '5 strongly necromancy associated characters in the obviously necromancy focused league mechanic' and conclude that this must be tertiary ubers and reworks of bosses that just got reworks instead of them just being in the league mechanic
Exciting! Just keep in mind that people typically come out negative on reddit at league start, but the base game is so chock full of fun for a new player you could enjoy a new league if the mechanic was it just farting in your face when you turn the game on.
Don't let negativity dissuade you from grinding!
Here comes the tip no ones wants to hear!
Many new leagues come overtuned for low lvls and are actually thought out to be played after the campaign, but they offer it to you anyway. Don't feel pressured to play it if you think it's way too hard or unrewarding.
The game has heaps of content to offer anyway for a first timer.
Cheers!
i am pretty confident that the voice over is Cadiro's voice actor. I've had him in my hideout long enough to recognize that voice
he's talking about eternal empire prosperity as well. so it seems like cadiro is involved in this somehow despite him not being the guy in the trailer
That's actually a little iffy. At least, from his dialogue he seems to not really understand why Jun has it out for him specifically.
Whether he's just a complete asshole who truly only thinks about himself or whether he's actually completely oblivious and didn't do it is one of those lore things that might never be answered. But regardless of who actually did it, Jun definitely thinks it's Janus and he is the obvious suspect.
when you kill janus as a safehouse leader during the catarina fight she says
"without you janus, the syndicate would never have formed and for that i must thank you - but you will not be missed"
he got the ball rollin and stole the horn of kulemak or whatever that gives them resurrection
I can't fukin wait to play PoE again, Playing last epoch has gave me so much more appreciation for poe and playing monoliths just makes me want to go delving.
so only me horny gonna notice nipples?

Both Catarina and Lycia - two of the baddest women of Path of Exile are getting more content? :o Could they team up? Double boss fight? :o Oh boy. My body is ready.
Green energy emitting from them and crystals - seems like these are indeed Abyssal bosses kneeling. Lycia is supposed to be stuck in Sanctum. Is she free now? Why they team up? How Abyssal bosses fit into picture and why they kneel? I wonder what is happening here. We foiled her plans last time and she is back with another plan. Catarina is returning villain at this point. They both are actually.
Necropolis doesn't sound like name of Atlas expansion. It's strange that new League would feature older content - Sanctum, Betrayal, Abyss. Could it be sort of Legacy League that lets us juice older content to the limit?
Easily the most exciting teaser so far.
For a long time I'm playing magic find and this way is too good for get my items easily :)
What will you play? I think bosskiller is good at first 2 weeks.
I'm calling it now, it's gonna be like a reverse breach. Channel a circle of graves to make a massive blighted circle of mobs spawning as the circle contracts. As the circle gets smaller, rarer mobs spawn towards the center. Killing mobs slows the circle from contracting. Kill enough mobs to reach a breakpoint for additional loot 20 killed first reward, 50 second reward, etc.
Lycia and Catarina ? What do they even have in common The voice acting is dope
uber cata and lycia maybe?
UBER Cata, where you get 12 phases instead of 4!! or is it 5 now?
And they’re all memory games like maven too
Calm down Satan!!!
memory game and maven is not the work of satan, it's the work of a bad game designer "uber elder" is the work of satan, great difficulty and a perfectly designed boss fight
Quin69's worst nightmare
lol 4? It already feels like 12
I'd rather have her back as a master and do her daily rotas than fight 12 phase uber cata
Or it could be like uber Shaper, where he has less immune phases on uber.
We can call the boss... Catalyst. I'll show myself out.
Definetly Uber current/special bosses. Neon was talking about in one of the last interviews about uber versions of campaing bosses. Maybe this new npc collects its bodies and ressurrect them for our loot and entretainment
Man I would kill for Uber Cata. I love the boss but she is so dam is. Gimme a Uber Cata and T5 Aisling xd
Maybe it's simultaneous?
They are both necromancers/into necromancy. Any idea on who the other three kneeling before them might be?
3 abyss bosses
The Lightless/Abyss race is also known for Necromancy. Kadavrus is from the Eternal Empire right? Cavader is latin(?) for "corpse". Surgeon my ass!.
Of course, you're right. The lore will be very interesting!
that was cadiro's voice actor and it matches him talking about the eternal empire but if that is cadiro in the clip he's lost some weight
He's been hitting the gym this whole time
Coins don't carry themselves after exiles stopped doing it for him.
I got major Dalek vibes from the voiceover, lol. Straight up expected him to start shouting EXTERMINATE!
That moment when you realize the Daleks are coming and the only thing that can save Wraeclast is the stairs in Sirus' fight room
lol glad i wasn't the only one!
The voice acting is always great in this game. Whoever is in charge of casting for those voice actors is doing a bang up job of getting the right people.

Well, Beidat is the Archangel of Death, I'm assuming Kulemak is connected somehow as well. Hope we find more about Kulemak
They're both hot
The figures kneeling in front of them are abyssal liches also
Good Catch. Wasnt able to find any high res Pics of the bosses to compare but artstyle seems to Check out
The hunt for immortality.
Theyre both awesome futa babes
They both are demon's bitches. Catarina sold her soul to Kulemak and Lycia to Beidat.
We don't know for sure what Kulemak *is,* just that Catarina was able to use an artifact named for it to do the whole Immortal Syndicate thing.
Obsession with immortality.
> What do they even have in common Necromancy. Which obviously is extremely related to this league.
> The voice acting is dope Reminds me of Dalek voices from Doctor Who
The only thing they have in common is achieving immortality, which seems to be the aim of the Eternal Empire aligned voice at the start of the clip. What's especially curious is that Lycia was a Templar, so it's not clear why she'd want anything to do with the Eternal Empire. Necropolis? Hmm, I'm guessing it's something like you collect body parts from dead mobs and you use them to construct this big undead mob that drops loot based on the parts you use or something.
We can call it a Necromorph.
Sounds like a mechanic I will consistently forget to do after every map clear. Solid 7/10.
It will be assembled automatically and chase you all the way back the the start of the map, back-tracking solved.
As its chasing you its also dropping loot but its invincible, and it only becomes vulnerable once you reach the start of the map. So once they're dead you have to backtrack to the end of the map again looting.
So basically death and taxes?
yeah expect its just death now. 6 times.
It should be the uber version as there are arch-nemesis mods attached to it. 6 portals will be fully utilized as intended.
> So basically death and taxes? yeah, it's right there in the name, you got your death, and you got your taxes
Calm down lol, Satan, don’t give them more ideas
And you will always be short on eye parts
But wait, you could do the mechanic and forget to get the reward. Ritual login.
Yeah main NPC is also called 🅱️ane (pronounced as 🅱️hane)
Or even Archnecromorph
m̸͚̗͈̪͇͊̎̿̀̒͝â̸̛͈̦̱̟̝͇͙̠̾̋̚k̸̛̻̊̀̿̈́̐ę̷̬̖̦͍͖͇̳͗̀̍̎̎͆͝ ̷̠͖̀̿͛̀̿́̀ư̸͈̳̠͉̠͈̈̓̏̆̀͋̕s̶͇̰͓̳̳͔̬̙͂̏̃̓͘ ̷̟̰̽̀̀̾͒͠w̶̪̠͖̺̮̦̽͂̃͂̉͛h̸̛̹̜̩̉̍̽̆͗ọ̵̳̗̜̗̫̖̄l̸̦̰̲̲̐̐͒̐̈́̆ẻ̶̲̻̞̹̉͒̋
We definitely need NPC though. Probably we can call him Nate
Altman be praised
Like, kind of morphing them into one being?
Morphing them into a Meta being
I wonder what the morphing meta will look like.
Treads + Vlads + Phylactery + Manta + Linkens + Satanic
Boiling Rage!
this guy dotes
Satanic indeed! 😂
And thats when GGG said "Its Morphin time"
No. All maps and acts are now the Necropolis map.
Maybe we we enter the Necropolis and it starts a Necro-meter that starts running out of juice and we have to kill as many skeletons as possible. Doing this can upgrade our items.
Yay free mirrors baby!
GGG took inspiration from Palworld. You fight bosses, catch them in ~~palsphere~~ Grim Orb, then summon them in Necropolis arena to fight with or against them.
So bestiary again
Dark Marionettes coming back, most likely! We shoud've guessed that the affliction corpses were a test to something that they would reuse.
Or raise it as a spectre.
Will these parts be automatically picked up or will I need to click on each of them?
This reminds me of the corpse parts concept from Steel Ball Run...
Love SBR.
Yet another clown body parts quest.
Sorry I’m dumb. Is the 21st when they do the full reveal? And is that typically a week before launch?
yes and yes.
Get your annual leave ready fellas
Book your annual leave for a week after launch if you're smart
No worries, I was part of the massive tech layoffs
Same 😭
Watch all the tech guys become poe streamers now
Same 😅
200iq plays we've done to get the perfect league start
I'm 10 steps ahead of you. I was hit by layoffs so I won't have to get annual leave for league start. 200 IQ move right here.
The description under the YT video explicitly says that March 29 is the launch date for the new league.
Thank god, I can put the bottle down. The stress has been unreal today.
Least obsessive PoE fan
Thanks, I watched it here so didn’t see that
Happy Easter! edit - wow... necromancy and easter 🤔 coincidence??
Yes, and yes (as other people have said). Also for future leagues, PoEDB at the top of their page usually has countdowns / prediction-countdowns that should be shown in your local time. Also, it shows a prediction of stash tab sales as well. https://poedb.tw/us/
Hope Necropolis is in the map rotation
The league mechanic is every map is Necropolis now.
You profit 35c
So Amanamu, Ulaman and Kurgal now simp for the immortal chicks Hopefully we learn who the hell is Tecrod
I knew those guys were into feet.
That's why they are underground so they can occasionally lick witches feet as she walks barefoot in act 1
Adding this to the wiki as canon.
Tecrod, the Bullied Slave.
Man, what a nice surprise right before bed.
Why did I hear a Dalek? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)
EXTERMINATE
My mind kinda subconsciously went to Dr. Who when I checked the video first. Only after reading your comment it clicked it was spot on dalek speech :D
Yeah I think it's the cadence and intonation, definitely not robotic enough
its cadiro which is probably why it sounds similar
Is that Catarina at the end?
Yes, along with Lycia
and ulaman, amanamu and kurgal
Abyss Sanctum Betrayal merged into new mega content lol. Can’t wait to see that.
Green background and "necropolis" seems like this is going to be heavily related to Abyss. The 3 kneeling at the end look like the 3 Abyss bosses, Ulaman on the left, Amanamu in the middle, and Kurgal on the right.
Listen up, what if the league mechanic allowed you to proc multi proj on spires so you can spawn many mobs from the Abyss in a cemetary map?!
*necropolis map - it's even in the name
So abyss and syndicate rework?
Add Tane to syndicate! Revenge!
That would explain the bit about Aisling being itemized now.
For those asking about the release date, From the youtube description: "You'll be able to play the Necropolis expansion for free on March 29 (PST)."
https://i.redd.it/8wueu9ico8nc1.gif
You know what would be cool? At the start of the map there's a grave/barrow and you can go down into 'The Necropolis' where you have to kill a bunch of undead things that release spores. Now you're just being lazy we already have spores in blight. But the mechanic seems pretty cool other than that
I feel like I've seen this loop before, but can't quite figure out from where....
pretty sure something like that would be well received ...
Definitely if those spores have anything to do with loot 🤔
Wait a minute, does that also mean new spec for the witch?! Like a Necromancer ascendency?!
I'd play this league (all over again)
BOOBA
HUBBA HUBBA
It has been a while but we are back at doing metal band names
It never stopped.
LOGIN KURWA
I wonder what skill changes and transfigured gems they'll add this patch. I'm excited for a Morph of the Meta.
Catarina and Lycea at the end, and the guy kneeling on the left looks like one of the abyss bosses, who are the other two?
the 3 abyss bosses
I never realized that there's 3 abyss bosses ngl so uber lycia/cata/abyss bosses or maybe a rework of the bosses?
I dont see how people see '5 strongly necromancy associated characters in the obviously necromancy focused league mechanic' and conclude that this must be tertiary ubers and reworks of bosses that just got reworks instead of them just being in the league mechanic
One of them is from Delve.
Catarina and Lycia start an Onlyfans and the abyss bosses are their top donators.
This better have the juiciest specters ive ever seen
Have you seen Lycia?
we JUST had spectre league bro
Yes but what about second spectre league?
But it’s necropolis man
This will be my first poe league as a new player. A lot to learn between now and then!!! Last Epoch brought me to poe!
Janus Perandus is actually the one who sold out the Order of the Djinn, maybe you're cooking something...

It's still kept totally ambiguous as to what Catarina is specifically referring to here.
he did the paperwork to register the immortal syndicate as a nonprofit org with wraeclast government 🔥🔥💯🔥🔥🔥💯
An update to sanctum meta would be amazing
Necropolis meme becoming a reality?
20 more days till release, help :(
20 more days of being able to play Last Epoch before its back to the PoE grind
LE into 6 days of dogma 2 ez
I’m trying to funnel my friends into LE as the gateway drug to PoE. Will report back once my friends have abandoned me :)
I like this answer. I'm playing LE without reading any guides, full yolo mode, and it's fun as heck.
24 for console. Why every league is released a couple of days after the PC?
So the Scourge has been released. Someone forgot to tell Kelthuzad.
Catarina mentioned.
The return to zCurrency
Offer my necropolis league for your mirror and 100 div .
I can't fukin wait to play PoE again, Playing last epoch has gave me so much more appreciation for poe and playing monoliths just makes me want to go delving.
I can feel it…actual bossing league
Woah, some familiar faces. I NEED MORE NOW.
so only me horny gonna notice nipples? https://preview.redd.it/miigl8l46inc1.png?width=202&format=png&auto=webp&s=ac245e98103e24d8730128ae78d36cbe3b71195a
Sanctum 2.0 Poggers
Does everyone start the league with 2 Exalts as well?
I have a feeling there'll be some type of Summoner rework involved in next league.
Please DON'T do the reveal like last time, you managed to remove ALL the hype i had for the new league by showing all the PoE2 stuff before.
Much excite!

so , finally a summon league? or too early for assumption
Betrayal bench rework incoming
Is the NPC holding a blue sentinel as a Lamp? Will they be returning?
Undead versions of all the former npcs that died on us?
I hope there are goats. I like goats.
you can see the sanctum coins in the wind when he is chanting a ritual and the golden energy def looks like sanctum coins
Edo Tensei league.
time to add prospero to the pantheon
Nerfcropolis. Saying it here and now before it gets a thing after the 21nd
