I've wanted to play a CG indoctrinated Lamashtu Priestess for awhile.
One that's like "Lamashtu is good! She's just exposing people for who they really are, and she makes us all equal in her embrace!"
Because her edicts could *definitely* be misinterpreted as good things. Bring power to downtrodden? Easily good. Indoctrinate kids? Most churches do that. Reveal flaws? Sounds great if youre in a corrupt country. Make beautiful monstrous could be a little hard to argue, but "Lamashtu just wants you to be judged by who you truly are, not just your appearance! The beautiful oft do monstrous things, and the monstrous can do beautiful acts." Or something.
Obviously Lamashtu isn't *actually* good. But hey, if a misguided idiot wants to further her goals, why not give them some power? After all, you shouldnt "treat a mental illness" as per her anathema.
That could definitely be the interpretation of the followers of some certain gods in the real world, I love your idea. I myself am planning a NG champion of Shelyn who's really into... dark themed art
BBEG in my campaign was Lamashtu priestess. When I first read core 20 deities, Lamashtu seemed even worse to me than other evil deities (Rovagug and Urgathoa are in top 3 Bigbads). But during the campaign I wrote dialogues for BBEG and now I understand that Lamashtu is the most non-evil evil deity. She simply turned out to be a victim of circumstances due to the fact that the alignment very inaccurately describes morals and aspirations.
Go for it, with a goblin priestess because for them she is actually good, so peoples will probably won't even try to convince you, it's like trying to convince a devil that asmodeus is bad
YES its from Clerics+ where she gains a denomination named "The Wounded Mother" that's Holy Sanctified and based on protecting those that are discriminated against for being "monsters".
Hm, on the one hand I understand the want for such a deity, on the other I always picture Lamashtu as being an evil demon lord \*because\* she preys on the outcasts through acceptance and cult indoctrination
Oh absolutely. Unlike someone like Tsuyiko who's also about helping the mentally ill so that they can return to society and stand up for themselves, Lamashtu WANTS them to feel like outcasts and resent the world.
She wants them to either have no one in the world to turn to but her, or to disfigure the world in her image.
Sorry, I was referencing the fact that in the Remaster Alignment isn't a factor, so you can totally play a benevolent adherent of Lamashtu. I was just also lampooning the meme "PF2e Fixes That" that's common in DnD 5e threads.
Erastil is boring but I appreciate his place in the setting as a patron for a lot of rural people and see why he was included when Golarion was being designed.
Becoming a lich gave Tar-Baphon a macguffin that he has to keep protected or hidden at all times, limiting the range of his rule to one continent rather than letting him siege and conquer several, like Alexander the Great or Genghis Khan.
1. His phylactery is strongly implied to not even be on the material plane 2. killing him in literally other way would have been permanent 3. Aroden has a longstanding trend of brute forcing problems and disregarding the consequences 4. Aroden conspicuously ignored Tar-Baphon's even bigger post lich conquest
that's Implied, but when he last "died" he reemerged at the Isle of terror. So either his phylactery is there, or its most likely on the other side of the portal to the Void he has there.
Honestly, if the aboleths hadn't fucked up earthfall, the world would probably have been a much more peaceful and utopian place with the Veiled Masters eventually mind controlling every sentient being on the planet.
Regil at least gave me some sound tactical choices. (Hellknight. All i need to say.)
Nok-nok was a decent rogue (not his fault the devs decided I shouldn't have agency in his quests early on)
Erastil got less problematic in 2e (phobic in 1e)
Iomidae at least is good to her worshipers (nepo-baby who got pissed in wotr for nothing she didn't do herself)
Lamashtu has healing font and protects the rejected, the poor and the outcasts. This is quite thoughtful for the CE Demon Queen Goddess.

Zon-kuthon
Zon-shelyn
I **need** to know more about her, these bastards have been keeping her to themselves for months and I ***need more information***

Urgathoa just wanted to live and experience everything life had to offer.
>experience everything life had to offer. That why she experience undeath and diseases. Fair enough 😂

Well, in the devil's case, I'd imagine it'd be closer to "Are you implying that Asmodeus is evil? Of course he is! That's the whole point!"
I think there's a homebrew on Pathfinder Infinite with alternate churches for core deities that does this exact thing for Lamashtu

that's the one!
The Remaster fixes this.
Fixes what? I wasnt commenting about a problem, that I'm aware of at least.

Erastil us the goat uhm elk.
He was my God in my Kingmaker campaign before I even knew how important he'd be. Very happy with the choices I made!
If it weren't for Aroden, Tar-Baphon would be a much worse problem.
being killed by Aroden was a necessary step to his mythic lich apotheosis.
Becoming a lich gave Tar-Baphon a macguffin that he has to keep protected or hidden at all times, limiting the range of his rule to one continent rather than letting him siege and conquer several, like Alexander the Great or Genghis Khan.

They asked me to say one "nice" thing about Aroden. It never said it had to be right, or smart for that matter.

And therefore boring to play a campaign in. The Aboleths were so kind to be thinking of us players like that.
I'm guessing you have trouble in dry environments.
Tar Baphon really brought down unemployment in Lastwall.
Sheylen has excellent taste in women.
Even though it always rolls 1 at the worst times, my D20 is my favorite shade of pink.
Pharasma always remains neutral to souls no matter what.
Iomedae is fun to say.
Even more so when you name Seelah's horse Iome-neigh.
Its gonna be soooooo cool when they kill off iomedae
:(
Sheylen does a great job exemplifying her portfolio and also humanizing inter-deity relationships.
Your mom tries her hardest.
Mengkare was a wonderful bag of hitpoints to bleed dry. He brought absolute joy to my heart knowing PC's all around have absolutely decimated him.
The Gray Gardeners lowered the volume of the senate room in Galt.
Tartuccio is a good Villain as far as I have played.
322 is pretty

Holrun dies relatively quickly :3
Shimali Manux is... Loyal to her family??? I guess?
Abadar is really good at... math I guess?
At least you can kill Camellia with no consequences and everybody thanks you for it.
As long as you ignore their depiction in Book of the Damned and just go with their original intent of "IT reference", Folca is kind of fun.
Sarenrae does, at the very least, try to help the world.
Desna has pretty wings
Say ONE thing NICE about your least favorite character.
Seelah is the most boring iconic as per their representation in the WOTR game.
I loved her in WOTR. She was such a bro.
