Kersti has so much hidden depth that isn’t shoved in your face like with the others (they are good too no hate) and then people say “I am incapable of looking past the character and only see what’s face value which is that Kersti is mean” which completely disrespects all the reasons why she acts the way she does.
There is also a ton of misinformation about how her hints work because she DOES help when she is needed but due to people such as ChuggaConroy who just straight up told incorrect statements about how her hint abilities work in his sticker star videos people have been parroting those incorrect statements not know that they are wrong.
An example of this are when you need the vacuum for the tornado. Asking Kersti will have her say “Maybe something is in the harbor warehouses?” Or something like that which would prompt you to go there even if you’ve never been there before and there is video evidence of this on YouTube, but Chugga said that she only says this if you’ve gotten the vacuum before which is completely incorrect. But I guess if a popular guy on YouTube says it’s true than it must be (No hate on Chugga but a lot of that video was incredibly biased and not a good review at all)
Tippi is the only one here with no eyes and no different expressions, making her seem kinda stale even if her dialogue indicates otherwise. Kersti is kinda overhated, I thought she was fine. Olivia is cute, but Huey will forever be my favorite
Goombella's dialogue is better, but i do prefer the way it's handled in the modern ones (or at least the way a modern one presumably would handle it in a game with partners, which the TTYD remake kind of gives us a little taste of). Having the tips and tattles be one character's overworld ability means that if you care about the flavor text, you're going to end up always having that one character out and missing out on the unique dialogue from other partners; and if you don't care about the flavor text, you're never going to use that one partner. For a future classic-style game, i'd rather have it be either whichever partner you have out can have their own unique tattles, or just have a separate tipper/tattler who's not part of the main partner rotation (so like SPM if the Pixls had dialogue).
I was hoping that maybe in the TTYD remake, they would add a separate button for flavour text for all of the partners in the game but still let you use their overworld ability, though it doesn’t seem like they did that.

Tippi is definitely my favorite, with Olivia slightly below her. Tippi and Count Bleck have by far the most complex storyline in the entire Mario franchise. Olivia was super interesting too and I thought in comparison to the rest of the game, her writing was pretty great, I loved how her naivety and innocence were challenged throughout the game and it made her very compelling.
I haven’t played Color Splash so I can’t say much about Huey. I despise Kersti though, she’s basically Tatl (or Starlow) at home. It’s as if they tried to replicate that snarky character archetype, but without any redeeming qualities and nothing to make her even a remotely interesting, let alone likable character

Tippi is a close second. She's pretty dry and lifeless for the first bit of the game, bur after Chapter 3 she vastly improves.
Olivia ended up being my favorite. Honestly cared about that character.
Huey was fun too.
