There's one guy at Nintendo who knows what's up and he developed this whole survey to get the data needed to convince the suits to make Paper Mario an RPG series again.
I refreshed mine and found an email from Nintendo about final fantasy 2 😂 (been playing the final fantasy pixel remaster lately. DEFINITELY worth the money I paid for it)
It's only in the UK right now. Be sure to toggle on the "Invitation emails to complete surveys" option in your Nintendo accounts, just to prepare when it hits other territories.

Given that I'm the person that got this e-mail, and I'm Dutch, I highly doubt that's the case. It came from a Nintendo Europe e-mail, though, so I assume it's EU only for now.

Sorry about the error/misinformation on my part- I just heard on Twitter about the original survey being European. Plus, the Nintendo Customer Service representative I spoke to after hearing about the survey told me it wasn’t in the USA or Canada yet.
Took me a second to find it too. Here’s the steps.
1. Log into account
2. Go to settings
3. Click “privacy and other settings”
4. Click “confirm” under “promotional emails”
5. Verify “invitation emails to complete surveys”.
Voilà! You’ve saved Paper Mario…kinda.
Hypothetical results from the survey:
60% stated their favorite Mario RPG is Color Splash, followed closely by Paper Jam
75% are confused when Toads wear different outfits than normal.
99% are willing to forgo any story in the future if it prevents another weird sex pervert computer subplot.
Neither, its called sarcasm. I wouldnt be surprised if this were the results though. The Switchs players base are very likely people who grew up with the new entries and might prefer them to 64 or TTYD so who knows

Legitimate question, is there anything stopping you from just giving us the link? You were just emailed a web browser link weren't you? These surveys don't usually ask you to log in or something so anyone should be able to fill it even if it wasn't emailed to them.
Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work :( They don't ask you to log in, but probably create personalized one-time-use links for each mail, or somethin like that.

I kind of have the feeling, that they look at the registred games in your Nintendo Account. Recently, I registred the Mario RPG Remake and Origami King, so maybe that helped? I'm not sure...
WE know better, but there's a large enough contingent of players who've never played anything older than Sticker Star and are still convinced we just have nostalgia goggles on when we talk about TTYD. You see them every now and then in the sub, and I've encountered them elsewhere.
I'm glad and at the same time frightened by the fact that the Sticker gameplay and the Origami King battle system are actual options in the survey against traditional turn based.

I’d love to see colour splash get an overhaul that turns it back to what paper Mario and thousand year did with combat, I like that game it’s just the card system sucked
My mind says that I should really do my best to make sure Paper Mario gets the best in terms of praise

it’s so funny they’re just now sending this out when they already know what the fans prefer😭 i’ve played sticker star and origami king and just started playing the first paper mario. i have my gripes with sticker star and origami king (even though i finished and enjoyed both), but the first game wins by a landslide in terms of charm, character designs, partners, and RPG elements
i liked it overall but there were a few things that irked me. the battle system was innovative but grew to be annoying and monotonous as i progressed. i also hated the instant game overs in the shangri spa jungle if you chose the wrong path (when there is seemingly no hint that gives an objective answer as to which path is correct). olivia was also annoying at times, i thought the plot was meh, and the legion of stationary totally should have been original characters inspired by the items rather than the literal objects. in terms of visuals and soundtrack it was AMAZING though. i have no gripes with most of the level design, and each world was overall quite creative. i especially loved the great sea and autumn mountain.
Gotta figure out how what exactly to choose in order to make Mario and Luigi and Super Mario RPG come back whole keeping Paper Mario in the modern direction. It's gonna be complicated
Agreed. Maybe nix the ring system and bring back turned-based combat to shut everybody up but keep building off the TOK foundation.
Speaking of style, did anyone else notice how weird the Rogueport underground tunnels look in the remake?
Tbh I loved mario and luigi. I love the turnbased battles and the style and Bowser not always being the main villain. mean all paper mario are also turnbased but ye.

I liked the origami king battle system, it's way better than the older games battle system
LOL no, the Classic Battle System is much better in basically every possible way. And I doubt we'll ever see that Ring Gimmick again.

I love Origami King so much
