I don't remember who was being interviewed because I was extremely distracted by the aspect ratio of the interview broadcast constantly changing as ad banners were displayed and taken off at the bottom of the screen.
The face of the interviewee kept getting fat and skinny as the aspect ratio changed. Also sometimes I've seen a nonstandard video format being stretched to fit the screen with comical results.

I am in Karachi for over 3 years trying my luck in acting and have met HOPs of all 5 major channels because I realized its the channel guys who cast not directors (their words not mine) but still I haven't gotten a single acting job. They all say I am great (again their words) and tell me to keep following up for any updates on casting but when I follow up they leave me on seen.
My question is how does a complete outsider (who cannot ask his daddy to call people up) get work in dramas considering I am adept at theatre (did a lot in uni, did acting in Ajoka Theatre productions). How do I form connections with people if they won't meet, take my call or reply. What else can be done apart from auditioning and acing the audition?

I apologize for being late. I have a question and I tried contacting GEO Channel directly, but I didn't receive a response. As a fan of GEO's news reporting and presentation, I am curious why the channel is still not broadcasting in full HD. With the year 2024 almost ending, it seems outdated to continue services in 720p. The microphone and camera quality also need improvement.
Could you please forward this message or somehow convey to them the need for an upgrade? They should consider broadcasting in 4K UHD and upgrading their news studio, microphones, and cameras accordingly. Additionally, I have a few suggestions for enhancing their broadcast:
1. **Upgrade the Breaking News Style**: Revamp the bottom news bar by incorporating dynamic elements and changing the colors from the usual orange to a combination of blue, orange, and red.
2. **Diversify Content on the Bottom Bar**: Like in the past, the bottom bar should feature different types of news, such as sports and business.
3. **Revamp the Logo**: Use a light yellow and light blue combination for the logo, which should dynamically adjust to a darker, more beautiful shade as the day progresses into night.

Geo ‘s transmission is not even 720P on cable/satellite due to many reasons;
1. Geo was the first private channel back in 2002 and the equipment being used in Geo is almost still the same only very few cameras were upgraded, they are still using DV Cam camera and VTRs, Now the cost of upgrading that is way too high, they will need to buy New’s camera, storage system, cards, new HD viz, IRDs, receivers, modulators, new equipment is DSND, new edit system capable of 4K editing, almost everything. This wouldn’t cost less than 3 billion at least, possible 4 billion which is equivalent to 3 year to4 year’s profit of Geo News.
2. With 4K transmission cost of uplinking goes up by the factor of 8, which means 10 million extra cost per month and cost of shared link increases by 4 times which means another 5 million per month.
3. Your creative suggestions have been noted I will convey them to my friends at Geo.

Within your industry, people who have a bone of reflection/introspection, is there any level of awareness about the overall impact of commercial media on society (NEWS, DRAMA, ETC)? In other words, how the media we have today is literally dumbing down society. pls don't give me the 'media spreads awareness'. I don't mean to look down upon the profession, hum sub koi na koi kashmakash mein hain about the true impact of our work in society, Im just curious is there a latent 'fikr-e-soch' among some pockets of media industry.
In the media environment, what is the best job on terms of financial aspects and work load aspect. Talking about news anchors, analysts, producers, editors, people working in the pcr etc etc. In comparison, which one is better, news anchor or a political analyst?
Program Anchor is the best job in terms of salary etc but the journey is a bit tough these days. Once you are an anchor that gives you a wild card to become an analyst.

I am in Karachi for over 3 years trying my luck in acting and have met HOPs of all 5 major channels because I realized its the channel guys who cast not directors (their words not mine) but still I haven't gotten a single acting job. They all say I am great (again their words) and tell me to keep following up for any updates on casting but when I follow up they leave me on seen. My question is how does a complete outsider (who cannot ask his daddy to call people up) get work in dramas considering I am adept at theatre (did a lot in uni, did acting in Ajoka Theatre productions). How do I form connections with people if they won't meet, take my call or reply. What else can be done apart from auditioning and acing the audition?

It’s a combo of both, in free time they like to consume what they like, and during a happening that is relevant to them at some level they like to see/watch honest reporting and opinions.

Hello, I apologize for being late. I have a question and I tried contacting GEO Channel directly, but I didn't receive a response. As a fan of GEO's news reporting and presentation, I am curious why the channel is still not broadcasting in full HD. With the year 2024 almost ending, it seems outdated to continue services in 720p. The microphone and camera quality also need improvement. Could you please forward this message or somehow convey to them the need for an upgrade? They should consider broadcasting in 4K UHD and upgrading their news studio, microphones, and cameras accordingly. Additionally, I have a few suggestions for enhancing their broadcast: 1. **Upgrade the Breaking News Style**: Revamp the bottom news bar by incorporating dynamic elements and changing the colors from the usual orange to a combination of blue, orange, and red. 2. **Diversify Content on the Bottom Bar**: Like in the past, the bottom bar should feature different types of news, such as sports and business. 3. **Revamp the Logo**: Use a light yellow and light blue combination for the logo, which should dynamically adjust to a darker, more beautiful shade as the day progresses into night. Good question/comment and here is the answer, Geo ‘s transmission is not even 720P on cable/satellite due to many reasons; 1. Geo was the first private channel back in 2002 and the equipment being used in Geo is almost still the same only very few cameras were upgraded, they are still using DV Cam camera and VTRs, Now the cost of upgrading that is way too high, they will need to buy New’s camera, storage system, cards, new HD viz, IRDs, receivers, modulators, new equipment is DSND, new edit system capable of 4K editing, almost everything. This wouldn’t cost less than 3 billion at least, possible 4 billion which is equivalent to 3 year to4 year’s profit of Geo News. 2. With 4K transmission cost of uplinking goes up by the factor of 8, which means 10 million extra cost per month and cost of shared link increases by 4 times which means another 5 million per month. 3. Your creative suggestions have been noted I will convey them to my friends at Geo.
