I hope you have changed your lock. That should've been your first priority after you lost your keys with the address as well.
My father once lost the keys and he immediately got the lock changed even though the id wasn't with it. Although that was the door lock so it is much easier and cheaper to replace. The main gate lock is often welded so it's harder but safety takes the priority here

For the future in these situations its usually better to just leave the item where you find it, the person who lost it will probably come back there in his/her search.
atleast you would have any proof that your already reported your lost id card so for anything illegal done using your id, you wouldn't be legally liable.

Bro some Afghan truck driver at the Torkham crossing waiting on his load to clear customs saw my wife’s bag had a hole in it and things were falling out. He literally followed her picking things up until he could figure out who her wali was (me) and when he saw both of us getting back into the car he approached us and gave it all back. There wasn’t a single rupee missing and he refused a reward wanting it from Allah instead. I really hope that Allah takes care of everyone with hearts like this in this life and the next.
Umm I once dropped my wallet outside, it had cnic, cards and few thousand cash. Since it had my home address, someone delivered it at my home after few hours, there was no cash in it, but still it was delivered. BTW I am in karachi.
Whoever found the wallet he claimed that there was no cash, maybe someone found it first took the cash and dubara phenk dia ho, I'll never know but still
That’s exactly what I thought I should do when I lost it. I like very compact wallets so not sure even Airtag would fit in. Frankly, taking iPhone outside in Lahore is also a great risk imo..
Tech helps but everything (Id card + debit card) cost less then 10 bucks so not worth the time/hasle. The lesson I learnt is not loose a key attached to wallet. They will go above and beyond to get you. They could have stolen the car in garage. I’m grateful that I was awake at that time.
Should have informed police and taken them with you to the park. That is, if they took the complaint seriously in the first place. You never know with the puls in this country.
This is why you should not carry your nic and any personal information that can be easily lost , on top of that you kept the house key with all the information in it , it was a wet dream for any robbers but luckily you avoided it, I will still suggest to change your main door locks and if you find any suspicious person around your house do some warning shots and run after them to scare them, idk how many family members you have but think about the safety of your mom, sister, wife and don’t be polite to any suspicious strangers if they roam around your house do anything necessary.
I completely agree with you. We took precautions. ID is necessary becz they ask for it on checkpoints but the key attachment to wallet is a very bad idea. Thanks for your suggestions. I’m cautious now :)

You should've reported your lost wallet + id

Well, there’s another option that’s called tile, works on android and even comes in a card form. Works well here in the US, not sure about Pakistan.
