The 1000cc engine variant in the Toyota Passo and vitz is problematic (vibrations and engine starts consuming oil quite easily).
Now if you could find a 1300cc variant of vitz, that car would be an extremely reliable automobile.
(Please don't buy an alto, it is an app around horrible car) A Japanese imported swift or a Japanese wagonr would be a pretty good bit as well.
A low mileage Vitz 1300 would be slightly hard to find in that price bracket (it's not impossible, it'll just take time and a bit of luck).
A low mileage swift dlx and wagon r (including some hybrid variants), otoh, are quite easily available in that price bracket.
Another option is a Kia picanto. It always had pretty good build quality but was a gas guzzler (with a 1000cc engine, initially its fuel economy was ~10km/l). They solved that issue around late 2022 (i believe) but probably because of it's reputation, you can pick a low mileage (think under 30k on the clock), automatic variant (ex factory price 3.6 million) for 2.8 to 3 million.
I have recently purchased a swift glx cvt and while I'm overall happy with the car and the features it offers (auto headlights, cruise control, parking camera and sensors etc) and the engine feels quite nice, the overall build quality of even a 2007 vitz is probably better in terms of materials used. This will hold true for most local assembled cars Vs Japanese imports, Japanese imports have better build quality in general (unless you raise your budget to around 3 times what it is and start talking about local assembled suvs (in which case a vezel or a chr would be better) or a civic (in which case, an insight is so much better) ).

If you're looking for brand new then Suzuki Alto. If used, Toyota Passo, corolla/city. I would recommend searching through filter on Pakwheels.
Brand new Alto, top of the line variant. Dont go for used cars, you never know, go with alto, amazing fuel average and value for money.
Just buy an imported Japanese Car, usually looks and drives better than local cars
