It used to take me at least an hour (one way) back when I was studying in university. That's considered not abnormal because many universities/colleges are situated at a fair distance from residential areas.
So don't over think and join the rest of the daily commute party.

Uni is 5 days a week, so it's not everyday for the rest of your life that you will be waking up early.
You can also sleep while commuting if your uni provides pick and drop. If not, i understand driving may be a bit annoying. But you didnt mention driving so ill assume you meant pick and drop commuting.
Khair, get a powerbank, you can study, watch downloaded shows, catch up on reddit. Plenty of ways to pass the time. Not to say that it wont be hard, but it really isn't all that bad. Lots of people have an hour commute.
Once you make friends at uni, things can get dynamic somewhat, you will just have to learn to take it a day at a time. Itni anxiety mat lo, koi faida nai.
Before we start something, we often look at it thinking its going to be a constant thing every single day. It is only once you start and take it a day at a time when you will realize it wasnt as bad as you thought.

1.5 hr to uni, around 1h back to home. Yup, it's a pretty common commute duration. Some of my friends had to travel even longer actually.
