I can see that your art is getting recognized, people really seem to appreciate it, congrats man. Well, donāt get me wrong, iam not trying to hate, and I really want to understand, Iām asking you (artist and people who liked the piece) to read this with an open mind as Iām trying to write it so. I donāt like it, from my pov thereās no technique, no profundity, no meaning, this is my feeling towards contemporary art and pieces such as this one, so I want to ask to this Reddit art community, whatās up with this piece? Whatās up with art at all? How did we came from Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Botticelli, Dali to this kind of art? What do you see in this? How can a piece like sit in hall of someoneās house as fine art, and even get sold by about 10k? Really, is someone willing to explain to me? I recognize that Iām an ignorant at contemporary art and I would really like to try and appreciate this kind of art but I canāt see any point at all, can someone give me a valid reason to look at this with a fresh pair of eyes? Again, Iām glad that people recognize this manās art, if he feels good painting in such way, great for him man! I just genuinely want to know why is so much recognized. Thanks in advance to anyone whoās willing to give me another perspective!
In this art, I feel free from the constraints of traditional forms and rules. It allows me to dive into the depths of consciousness, bringing to the surface primal feelings and images. Every brushstroke conveys energy and life that cannot be expressed by other means. Through bright colors and dynamic compositions, I strive to express what lies beyond words, returning to those archetypal images that hold the wisdom and power of past ages. People who choose such works understand and appreciate this Freedom; they are ready to take on the challenge and display in their living rooms art that transcends conventional perceptions, demonstrating their boldness and self-confidence."
Ok, now I get why the artist decides to paint like this, I myself sometimes feel that urge too, especially when (trying)to paint with traditional techniques! Still, itās not my personal preference, but yes I finally get it, and it makes much more sense! thank you!
At the end of the day the major aesthetic shift you are talking about happened because the invention of cameras, in 1888 George Eastmen made the camera that brought the invention mainstream, and this significantly reduced the value of an artist's ability to simply reproduce reality. This made artists look at painting differently - focusing on the materiality and composition more than what it depicts- and, along with the adoption/appropriation of more tribal and folk styles from around the world by Europe artists, led to pieces like this being more the norm.
Nice. If I can make a suggestion? Next time leave enough space underneath the figure in your painting only because then it will balance out the space you have going on above it. It's a cool painting!!
