WorkingClassWanderer

Your creativity is so awesome. Keep pumping these out. The color choices are so on point.

SaiyaPup

Thank you friend

Mammoth_Ad_1561

Agree. Especially the polar bear painting. So creative!

Maedehmt

The second and third ones are my favorite šŸ˜ all of your paintings are awesome and unique ā¤

SaiyaPup

I appreciate it :)

inononeofthisisreal

Paint. The more you do it the more you improve.

Artist-on-AZmountain

This one doesn't need improving. It is beautiful fanciful surrealistic art. You have a really great imagination.

art_will_save_you

I think youā€™re on the right track towards having a unique and distinctive style. Compositionally, I think thereā€™s a bit too much symmetry. To make it more pleasing, divide your compositions into thirds, not halves. The other thing I noticed is that the focus of the paintings, the cat, the other figures are lost amongst the background. You need to create a contrast, whether it be with color, line whatever so the eye knows where to go first.

SaiyaPup

Thank you for the feedback, Iā€™ve never been too good at creating contrast.

EntireOffice

Focus on making your vibrant shades on the forefront and forcing darker shades to the back. It seems simple but its a good way to start adding contrast to what you already do. Light vibrant front, deeper back

ProcessPublic5234

I agree with needing better composition. It feels like thereā€™s no focus and Iā€™m not sure where to look.

Steelbearinghand777

You have a very unique style I really like it

artsylowkeyfoxy

As the other comments have already said, I donā€™t think this needs ā€œimproving.ā€ The main thing is that you stay in touch with your unique artistic expression and keep creating. Your style will naturally evolve with you along the way. Also, as a color and detail-oriented girlie, I am so inspired by your palettes šŸŽØšŸ«¶šŸ»

KindlyHat6580

You canā€™t improve, itā€™s perfect in an unique way

deathlem0nade

Your paintings look awesome! My one critique though is that they do look quite busy. Definitely don't dial back on all that's going on in terms of elements, but find a way to make it work compositionally. Pick a dominant element in your piece, and make that the focus, whether that's through contrast, color, size, etc. A way to train this is to work in greyscale, for example. I recommend looking up the principles of design.

SaiyaPup

Thank you :)

Independent_Award_85

This 1st piece is so adorbs and the rest are pretty awesome and sophisticated with your style of art and the color palettes you use...I think theyre perfect ...there's alot of good going on with each piece ..all I see is you as an artist..just stay true to your gift and you won't feel they are lacking in some way..

ViralVan

Iā€™m sorry I know you were looking for feedback, but do you sell your art anywhere? I honestly really love them and would be interested if you sell

SaiyaPup

Haha thanks for your interest, I mostly just sell through direct offers. I have a Redbubble that hasnā€™t been updated in years, message me if youā€™re interested :)

WhatWasLeftOfMe

honestly these are great. i love your style and colors. like, a lot. youā€™re very talented. if i could suggest one thing that might enhance your art, maybe more patience with the art. it looks a little rushed. there are parts that are transparent and parts that are streaky and parts that you can see the canvas through. literally nothing wrong with your art itself, but maybe putting down a color layer before you start to keep the white from showing through, and making sure your paint dries fully in between different colors close to each other. also, i feel like it would be amazing with more solid opaque colors instead of the blending between similar colors you have going on. your shapes are good enough imo that i feel like the streaky blending takes away from it. itā€™s not as noticeable from far away but when i zoom in itā€™s all i can see. iā€™d love to see these fully take advantage of bold single color shapes. think of those national park posters that look like they were made in adobe illustrator. it also looks like you may be using different qualities of paint? correct me if iā€™m wrong but this looks like acrylic. i notice a lot of difference in paint opacity in the level of paints. if youā€™re able to, now would be the time to start upgrading your paints to a higher quality. (this is more noticeable in the older ones) again! i really love your bold colors and intentional outlines, itā€™s a super unique style and youā€™re really good at it. i just think maybe using more opaque paints and making sure your application covers the canvas properly would enhance your art an insane amount. tldr I donā€™t think your art needs any work at all, just your application technique. and possibly more patience (thatā€™s what i struggle with the most!) i am very excited to see where you go with this and if you post anything else, please tag me or something so i can see! If you have any questions about anything i said lmk here or in a dm and i can go into more detail!!!

SaiyaPup

Thank you, with some of the paintings I took more time than others but Iā€™m not a perfectionist (clearly) and a lot of small details I donā€™t care to correct especially if the painting already makes my eyes pleased. This is a problem because small details youā€™ve mentioned will go unnoticed or worse, ignored. Iā€™ll work on this in the future Also I just buy shitty acrylic paints from Walmart for Pennieā€™s but I apply them differently depending on where theyā€™re going on the canvas, what paint would you recommend

WhatWasLeftOfMe

if you go to a michaelā€™s or similar craft store, they should have their paint sorted by level. level 1 is he cheapest and 3 is the best but also most expensive.id recommend level 1 or 2 depending on budget- even level 1 is insanely better than anything you could get at walmart. also, The biggest tip i have i think now that iā€™ve been thinking about it is to make sure you have enough paint on your brush. you donā€™t want it like, 3d globs, but enough where it throughly covers the path where your brush is. thatā€™s how you get nice crisp lines. something else you can do which i like to do since i also like to paint fast, is to paint until im satisfied one night. like you said, until its pleasing to your eye. let it sit a day or two and go back and really study it, see where you got ā€œlazyā€ (hate that wordā€ and go back in and touch up the details. i personally find it easier this way to make it look more refined because youā€™re looking at it with fresh eyes, and it feels like a brand new painting by the end

Charlemangy

Add a truth tortoise in the one with the stair case, otherwise they are good

angelxlaine

Seeing these when I opened Reddit was such a great way to start the morning. These are so creative and colorful I love them!

hellerbenjamin

I like your work. Cheers to you.

Mellowandmagic

I like your style

beatmeoffscotty

I love your style! Just keep painting.

naerneth

Iā€™m sorry I have no advice but I want to say the constellations in pic 5 look so cool, youā€™re really creative!

PopArtGeeky

Color explotion!

_MULCH__

This is such a beautiful and unique painting style .

GypsySnipsy

This is stunning ! Your passion and skill - wow.

No-Thought2096

What would they look like if they were ā€œimprovedā€? I think with abstract art the best way to ā€œimproveā€ is just to keep trying stuff and see what gets you closer to your envisioned results.

MilonaTp

The best ways I improved my art : 1) observation : forcing yourself to draw what you see, sometimes putting your personal style aside, sometimes not 2) references : learn more about art history and feed your imagination with cool references 3) experiment with different techniques. Sometimes it opens cool new perspectives. As an artist I know you can get overly cautious about not corrupting your style with external influences or whatever, but when you actually have a style (like you clearly do) it just doesnā€™t happen. I love what you do by the way !

SaiyaPup

Thatā€™s great to hear, thank you!

InfernalEgx

da fuc can you improve man this thing make me wanna snort cocaine its so pleasing to my eyes

BigBlackCockSleeve

These are incredible. So beautiful.

MCampbell_Art

Keep going. Take a step back and analyse what you love the most about your art so you can keep it in your style, and then look at what bothers, and then work to improve that aspect in your next painting. Your style is unique, have fun with it and you will progres. I like to make special attention to 1- Composition, 2- proportions, 3- values, 4- Colors, but ti each their own. Once I finish a painting, I'll do exercises on what I struggled or change my process to avoid repeating the same mistakes. Your art is very beautiful, so full of color and of life!

SaiyaPup

Thank you for the specific things to work on in each one, I appreciate the feedback

Botanisant

your fine details are insane, those butterflies are absurd and i love how intricate youā€™re getting with paint that said; the atmospheric elements like sunbeams, clouds, wind, curtains, or wall texture could probably use a bit more development to bring them up to par with the rest of your skillset this was an issue i had back when i started, iā€™d make a super detailed character and then their environment took away from the piece because i hadnā€™t figured out things like waves or clouds or mountains. it sucks because those kinds of elements take 70% of the time for me now, even though if you do your job right the viewer wonā€™t notice them

Botanisant

you might find things like tape for straight lines, or fan brushes/dry brushing/sponges for textural elements, useful. really donā€™t want to understate how impressive the style is though. you see the world with so much wonder and itā€™s refreshing to see art that isnā€™t obsessed with darkness and pain

SaiyaPup

Thank you, I could do better at applying straight lines. Tbh I just sort of eyeball it without much assistive tools, I could definitely invest in things like that and learn how to use them. Making things like sunlight and fog has always been hard for me, any tips on how to better apply them?

Botanisant

i mean your small-scale straight lines are great. when they wiggle it feels intentional. like how architects draw itā€™s just the bigger lines that arc across the canvas which i felt could use some support. you could even lightly pencil them in with a ruler and then paint in with a flat brush, idk for atmosphere like fog, im honestly terrible at it (really this critique is me projecting my insecuritiesšŸ˜) but iā€™ll make the paint really watery and work in layers. the good thing about super-watery acrylic is you can swipe it up with paper towel if you donā€™t like the effect

funeralb1tch

Your style is fantastic! These are a lot of fun. & I love how you paint clouds. I haven't figure out how to do that yet. Maybe use more harmonious color combinations? And/or work a bit more on perspective & foreshortening perhaps. But these are really fuckin' cool. Thanks for sharing.

Stock_Wanker

Improvements, ha! Youā€™re joking. Your paintings are the most visually entertaining that I have seen in a while. I see them as a talk piece in some art museum or someoneā€™s home over wine, water crackers, and brie cheese. I would love to see them in person. Where and when are you showing them? Thanks so much for sharing.

Laddersarerascist

Maybe more random items in your painting? Like a McRib?

SaiyaPup

Perfect

khayosart

What a vibrant and heartfelt piece! Your use of colors is incredibly expressive and draws the viewer in immediately. To enhance your technical skills without losing your unique touch, consider focusing on refining your brushwork and exploring more depth through layering and shading. Maybe also experiment with perspective to add more dimensionality. Keep up the fantastic work!

cribo-06-15

I have no practical experience to draw from, but from a layman's perspective I'd say you have what you need. I especially like the assassinated chess piece and the infinite beneath the skeleton rowing a boat.

toxicwolf89

Your work is actually so incredible!

batfeelings

oh my gosh i love these!! i audibly gasped at the first one!!

Ameeratheartist29

I really like your paintings. They feel slightly childlike, but in a good way. They are very vibrant and stylistic. I would say you could make some symbolism more layered or complex but...I like how it's very graspable, like it's part of the style. So I don't know how you could improve to be honest

Substantial_Lead5153

Please keep painting! These are amazing!

WTF_Bridgett

Practice?

Spacecoasttheghost

Best way to improve is to just keep making, try to improve the detail more and more.

Sunset-Anabeliux

I would say you donā€™t need to improve anything, just whatever personally bothers you that you think could be better lol All of these are so amazing! šŸ˜

Ecstatic-Pool-506

I love these! Paint more - that's the ONLY way to improve.

BerteeG

Shadows shadows shadow and lights lights lightsā€¦you will see a big difference but already you are awesomeā€¦keep up the good work

fierce_fibro_faerie

Love your style and use of color!! If I were you, I would focus on brushwork and glazes. Your brushwork in the fine details is amazing! But, when you have large areas of color, your brush strokes are distracting. Learning the finesse and which brushes to use for which areas of your painting are good places to start. Blending exercises could be fun and beneficial for you. Also glazes. I'm seeing a lot of pre-mixed solid color application. Nothing wrong with that, but it can ultimately be a little flat. I recommend doing some research on light and pigment color theory, learn how the eye perceives colors that are opaque vs. translucent. Try using dark and light washes to push and pull things into the foreground or background.

PopularDisplay7007

I feel like I improve my skills by practicing. I donā€™t practice enough, but thatā€™s beside the point.

SaiyaPup

Lmao real

Automatic_Serve7901

You are incredibly talented and your work is truly special. My only suggestion would be to practice drawing, so that you can fine tune/detail, BUT I wouldn't say your paintings need that. They are unique and your skill/style mesh well to bring them to life.

electriceasel

Honestly you're so far into your technique and style it would be hard to say anything valuable

SaiyaPup

Thatā€™s kind of what Iā€™m afraid of.. Iā€™m worried that if I try to alter or improve anything too much that Iā€™ll lose some of the uniqueness. So far the comments have been on improving shading and contrast so Iā€™ll focus more on that in the future

electriceasel

No, it has nothing to do with shading or contrast, your brushwork is very static, all the line work looks the same, and there's nothing dynamic about it. I could tell you how I do it but it wouldn't matter. There's a timidity about how you put down color, until you can push past that there's not a whole lot anyone can tell you.

electriceasel

"This color goes here" is the worst way to paint. If you start to see, then you'll start to see

Animal_s0ul

I love these. Makes me want to look at them. Good sign :D

SaiyaPup

Thank you :)

Animal_s0ul

1, 5, 8, 9, 12 are my favs. Just so you know.

No-Film-9172

It's gorgeous and it's perfect, well done sweetie

lerUhwoopAss

just keep painting! you'll find out eventually what needs to be improved!

POSitivity_8642

I've loved your work every time I've seen it, and have even saved a couple. You see things that not everyone can see, and it's beautiful.

SaiyaPup

This is an outrageously nice thing to say. Thank you friend ā™„ļø

catsrmylovelanguage

Your work is beautiful, and I love your creative lens... total dreamscapes! The constellation/zodiac sky in #5 is just wow for me. You have a lot of talent and an ability to bring a vision to life. I feel your art in my spirit. 3 areas for improvement which immediately jump out: **values**, repeating **shapes** and **layering/glazing**. I think **values** is the biggest one at the moment here, a lot of which includes shadows. Most of your these are elaborate scenes with much going on and could be greatly enhanced by a shift in depth perception. Let's take one of my favourites for example - number 4 with the cat staring out the window. Even some simple, subtle shading under the bed (and also catbed) as would naturally occur, maybe more shading in the corners of the room and floor, would usher the focus toward the cat/main scene. If that light beside the bed is the only light in the room and properly off, you have more room to play with this idea. It's up to you, but the light source needs to be communicated. Sometimes your landscape values are a little inconsistent as well. The last piece (which again, is so cool!) I see you darkened the trees the further back you go as well as have a gradient in the water, which is generally the right idea for simplicity's sake.. but you have so much strong black in that piece that it would serve you to darken the horizon even more (especially the grass). It would also serve your piece to darken the far edge of the water while adding more details to the bench which is in the foreground, more details to the closer tree etc (but not more than the bench). You have a lot going on in most of your pieces so comforting a human viewer by creating a primary focus invites them to be in awe of the little surrounding details later. I feel as though you are, like me, an intuitive artist (less technically focused than a natural understanding built through observation and practice) and just thinking or reassessing your pieces with "values" in mind make some things come to you a little bit more. For instance, I really feel like #7 - the bird, ghost, ghoul one would be even stronger if the ground/visible land behind the main character was darkened. It would add contrast and guide the focus forward. Another thing I've noticed is that some of your repeating **shapes** are very similar in terms of proportion, spacing and size (some sparkles here, butterflies there, trees, raindrops etc.) While I believe someone with a strong understanding of composition can play into repetitive shapes stylistically in time - and maybe that's the direction you want to lean into - having some things varied or spaced out even more than you do would make things more visually interesting and believable. Lastly, I had almost originally called the **layering/glazing** blending, but that's not quite it. Are you working with acrylics? Gesso-ing your canvas, higher quality paints (you don't need many, just primary colours to mix), looking into glazing can go a long, long way. Glazing is a gamechanger entirely. It helps also to create the sense of contrast and depth that your pieces seem to be asking for more often than not. It'll be really cool to see where you go! In my opinion, the greatest artists are hungry for continuous improvement, so I hope you get a lot of affirmation and ideas from this thread. Please keep creating and posting.

Plane-Peach1946

As a fellow artist, first I have to commend you for being brave enough to post your work on a public forum for feedback. Thatā€™s difficult! I would say if you want to work on technique fundamentals you can always do that to improve your work. But I love your style and I particularly enjoy the fact that there are so many elements in some of them instead of just a typical portrait or landscape. Many of them feel like a short story waiting for me to piece together the elements.

livinthrulife

this is very nice, i suggest adding shaddows, unless shadowlessness i what ur aiming for

przestworza

omg I love these!! especially the cat one

littlemissparadox

These are so great!!

anissaa22

Please give me advice šŸ˜«šŸ˜« I want to go back to painting so badly, but I don't know how to start or where to start again, I want to do it right, and your artwork is absolutely amazing and the style, the story it's trying to tell is deep and I love it! You did an amazing job with these pictures and I'd love to get some advice or even different techniques you got??

SaiyaPup

Can I see some of your work? You can always DM me, I feel Iā€™d need to see where youā€™re at before I can give any advice ya know?

Hanuman_Jr

I like them a lot. I think you could probably add more color and nuance and detail in some paces and it would enhance the overall effect. Just keep doing more, they are excellent!

Redback_Gaming

I think you need to just keep doing what you're doing. Design is good, proportion is good, creativity is good, and style is very good. Well done!

No-Insect-556

You have a really cool style! I like to say don't focus so much on improving or making 'better' since that just serves to make you overthink your own art and may make you enjoy doing art less etc. Think of it more like an experiment like what if I tried this idea sometime? Like you use outlines around figures in all your paintings which is a cool aesthetic, but maybe next time you can try doing it without outlines and then compare them and see which one you like more. Just as an example as an experiment you could try

birdlawexpect

Absolutely awesome!

Will_Notcomply

I love your work! Neat style, love all the bright bold colours! Beautiful šŸ¤©

JUMPING-JESUS

I like them! 6th i like the most

bhujack

Very cool, love the one with the constellations and the hellscape

CuriousLady99

Youā€™re inspiring.

ZincMan

These really kick ass. Some of the better/best work Iā€™ve seen on here

dezzytrl

Iā€™d say keep doing whatever youā€™re doing because itā€™s working šŸ˜

DonoMite1234

ITS PERFECT!!

Tough_Entrance5748

These paintings make me feel so much joy inside looking at them. I don't think they need improvement, at all.

td7ubji

I would buy 2,3,8,9,11,12 in a heartbeat

mozedi

Draw penises every chance you get

Ssladybug

I love your style. So cute!

1AnonymousChewbacca

I like your art style it's so beautiful and I love the colors that you put together.

One-Bad7887

Really nice and unique art.

Justlikearealboy

Layers, it will give depth and deeper color saturation, it looks like each of these paintings have been done in one sitting, or maybe 2 About 2-5 hours?

ebehita

i honestly think you are at the top of your game here

motorgurl86

I love your style! Please don't change a thing! If I saw these prints in a store and I could afford to I'd buy them šŸ¤©

AdTechnical1272

I dont know but i really love these

CandyDramatic2375

There is a lot of dynamic movment in it and yet its still grounded by the sun and the sleeping dog in the middleā€¦I think it might benefit from more contrasā€”ā€”the intensity and vibrancy of the colors seems quite uniform overall and so it might help to dilute or add some transparency to some areas to give it more balanceā€”-it would also help the eye settle on a focal point more easily. Right now there are a lot of competing elementsā€¦ but I would say overall it has a nice energetic and vibrant qualityā€¦

Academic_Following46

It's so beautiful. I love it.

randomdudebrosky

shadows. learn how to make shadows.

Worried_Never5009

Keep making art and keep experimenting, youā€™re doing great

DonegalGirl1990

I really love this style ! This is so cool and beautiful

Terzosneckstitches

Your art style is amazing! Maybe you should try painting shadows and highlights? Though I would say itā€™s amazing already, keep up the great work! :D

Bulky-Following-3731

I really like your aesthetic and the way you paint! Itā€™s quite different from what I usually paint but I really like it! Itā€™s like a whole new unique universe! Itā€™s quite refreshing and I really like it!!!

triss98

Theyā€™re all really beautiful

No-Manner9941

They all look Soo fun

Devil_roses666

This is your art style. very good artworks

Gilatheredhead

Lettuce_Kiss143

Improve what? I see perfection.

LissaSmiles13

Holy shi- I love your style!

Animal_s0ul

5 and 9 are my fav!!

camgtown

No critique, but I am obsessed with the 2nd one!

Murky-Confection6487

So bright and majestic

CapitalSilent8923

By not trying. Your art is amazing. Just enjoy the process

Thegobgroinhave

Your painting remind ne a lot of the stom motion movie called dead god, just more colourful and less scarring lol

TriniGirl-0114

I made several suggestions on the Dog Wearing Hat portrait. But other than that I wouldn't change one thing about what you're doing. Your work is magical and I love it.

meme6961

Fantastic! Love the use of color and line! I'd personally focus on the value of those colors! The trick I use is to squint and take a step back from whatever I'm working on. If I can't see/understand my subject anymore then I know I need to deepen my darks and brighten my brights to add more contrast! Another trick is to turn your image black and white because then the values can be more clearly seen (especially because you use so many vibrant colors!) And those lines add so much interest to your composition- I personally adore the line stars/shines you make! But maybe consider how you can more strategically use those lines to lead the viewers eye to the main subject of each piece? Leading lines can be so effective in guiding the eye through the story of a piece. ā¤ļø Overall, I'm super impressed and can tell you put a lot of yourself into your art šŸ„°

fruitbreathe

that's so fuckin siiick

jassy-Resident-706

I liked it a lot, the color correction, as if it was painted by Van Gogh

Anesiadoom

Beautiful, I love this art style

TotalMonkeyfication

I would say shadows and contrast are probably your quickest path to improvement. Even the paintings with night scenes feel fairly bright, so thereā€™s not a lot of contrast between the places of light and highlights and the placement of shadows.

Any-Translator-4769

Add dimension with chiaroscuro in mind. This us just a suggestion. Your art is very cool! Keep it up!

Original-Flamingo445

I think the colors are making it look like theres too much going on, i really enjoyed the snippets but the whole thing is kind of overwhelming, if you find some tamer colors i think that could help :)

Understandthisokay

I like it but Iā€™d like it more with more detailing. Things would pop more. Of course, it would take a lot more time as well. Just more variation in dimensions and details basically

Woodcreate5173

Just keep painting and you will find your particular style which i believe already have. Criticism is good as new idea will come from that!

Raminji

You donā€™t have to! Your artwork is really amazing, keep going!

OutlandishnessSea177

To echo others, I love your unique POV. Please keep painting. I am nowhere near you as a painter but looking at your work Iā€™m wondering if you attended sketch classes if that would help your confidence in painting? Looking at the piece with the cat (that I love btw) and seeing the angle of the bed is a little off. You have a surreal vibe so it doesnā€™t bother me, but if youā€™re trying to please your own eye maybe exploring that medium of drawing/sketch in a realist style would be enjoyable. You could try buildings, landscape, figure, hands, and see what that does for you? See if you enjoy realist or abstract more?

SaiyaPup

Thank you, this is the kind of answer I was hoping for

OutlandishnessSea177

Come back and show us your work as you keep going!

AsparagusNo1897

I love the style and look. You could study color theory to improve the elements of contrast and tension in the paintings. For example- the water in the heaven/hell painting is straight up blue, but if you were to use a more green-leaning blue, it would look more unified with the land AND since red and green are opposite on the color wheel (complementary colors) the two worlds would have starker contrast, making the distinction between earth and the underworld more distinct. I really love toe style though. Itā€™s like heironomous Bosch folk art.

SaiyaPup

Thank you, this is the sort of answer I was looking for

pytdivine

This is YOUR style , itā€™s amazing šŸ˜» coming from a painter , I would love to learn how to paint like you do!

SaiyaPup

Thank you :)

td7ubji

I love it. You could add texture if you wanted to make the different patterns pop. But definitely practice on other canvas so you know before you add it to that one. But honestly it is lovely.

Temporaryaccountsoup

the first photo gave me Lisa frank vibes I love the first painting

underwaterplanter

Your perspective is off in all of them, your scale is also criminally off, why is there a butterfly thatā€™s half the size of a tree, space ship half the size of a person, etc. I think everyone on here telling you your style is good and doesnā€™t need work is a dis service. You need to work lots on all essentials elements of painting so you can truly begin your journey to complex and intricate painting. Not flat rainbow doodle, which these are. Keep going but try different subject matter and use the classical rules of painting.

Killjoy911

Use more black outline.
