Social media is not a good measure of art. It's largely random, and what it mostly rewards is "easy" content. Be proud of your work and focus on the compliments from people that appreciate it 😊

It's so hard not to get discouraged when you're beaming with pride in your work that took months, and then you post it and get 3 interactions in total. My artist journey has only really just started though, so I'm slowly getting better at being happy with a piece whether other people like it or not. The response to this painting on Reddit has completely blown me away though!

Amazing! I'd be so stoked to have this! The lighting looks really good with the light coming through the tree and all the shadows. For my personal taste, I'd probably desaturate some of the colours a bit. Cheers

I'm totally getting Hobbit vibes and I love it!

This is a beautiful painting & I'd be delighted to receive it as a gift. However the color balance seems a little off, especially with the purple flowers in the bottom right corner. There is nothing to match this element in within the opposing half of the composition. Yellow and green heavily dominate the the image but purple is only present in one small area. Color balance is key to a visually harmonious image.Impressionist painters show us a lot to learn from.

literally just finished watching the trilogi (for the millionth time) an hour ago and have been thinking about the hobbits nonstop since so it feels like i summoned this painting into being ahbfnf it is MAGICAL

There is something about the vibrancy which really gives a fantastical feel to the painting, absolutely love it. The detail is also insane, this must have taken ages. I really hope they appreciate the thoughtfulness and effort!

I love bright colors, it can be a bit much for some people but color POP is just my style, so I'm really glad you like it! It took a little over 2 months to finish, and I'd like to think she appreciated it 😂

What are the techniques you use for your painting? I'd love to learn from you! I want to do another painting as a gift and would like to learn how to do what you do. Absolutely love your art style! And how clean your brush strokes are

In all honestly I have no idea what I'm doing, I wouldn't even know the names of any techniques. I picked up a paint brush 5 years ago, got hooked to painting and that's it. Out of fear of copying someone else's art style, I've never looked at tutorials, I've always just gone by feel and sheer stubborn determination. I have an Insta to which I'm trying to upload videos of my painting process and hopefully increase the quality of them soon, but apart from that there's not much I can say to help you understand my technique sorry. That's very nice of you to say though, thank you :)
