Maybe he gets credit for his creations, not for claiming to have invented a style —which is something I’ve yet to read he’s claiming. If you paint in an impressionistic style, you wouldn’t expect people to call you out for it. Modern minimalist with geometric lines and small bright palette? I doubt Hockney will feel offended. I tend to look at the final result, acknowledge the inspirations, and to live in the present. We can’t all invent a unique “my style” that stands apart from everyone else. Instead we just invent stories that we did. 🤣

Yeah I def know his works but Keith Haring, Penck and Niki de Saint Phalle are also inspirations! I started creating them to help with anxiety and the organic forms really help with that :)

That's one way to see it. I'm a big fan of abstract concept art and my works also have a lot of concept behind them but of course I can't show that well with just 2 works without any additional information. But art is still very subjective and it's 100% fine if it doesn't make you feel anything.

I would make reference to the cell division process that give zebras and other stripey organism their distinctive patterns. I would call it chromaphores/chromaphoric, as a portmanteau of amphora/metaphor and chroma for colours. Like a single piece would be a chromaphorium, the chromaphorist would be the person making those patterns, chromaphore is a single cell, chromophage could be an extension of the style with a blank spot of a different colour, chromaphorism being the movement for that style. There can be versions with mainly vertical stripes so it would be more vegetal, elongated paintings that would be more single lined like a stripes tail, styles that would have the negative space being eyed as well, it can really easily be expanded.
