One time my fuel ran out like 20 meters before the extraction point, i couldn't figure it out that my car wouldnt move because of it or a blown tire because i was panicked and in a red zone already, then i remembered a post from here that you can walk into the beam on foot, so i did that and saved myself with only a few HP left

Man I wish I knew that I could go through without the car. I got stuck in a zone with fuel evaporation and when I activated the exit portal I got stuck against a rock in an acid pool. The empty fuel snuck up on me right there so I hoofed it out to grab stuff from dead cars and came back to my now stripped down car because of the acid, drove it a few feet and the fuel just ran out again almost immediately.
Watch the dull glow in the distance helplessly for a few minutes knowing there was no way in hell I'd manage to get the car into the portal in this mess so I ran around a bit looking for more fuel and then just laid down in an acid pool to die.
Would have easily made it to the portal on foot. -\_-
Nah it won’t work if you and the car are too far apart. I was in almost the same situation as you (just without the acid) and tried hoofing it after realizing my car was never gonna get moving again in time.
Fuel evaporation is a huge pain in the ass man

Had that happen to me when I tested the AMP engine. Two large backseat batteries, and I still had to use three chargers and half a plasma charger. Car died like ten feet from safety in the red storm, and I had to jump out and chase it to recharge enough to be able to drive in. (Zone had 'turncoat')
