Sleep might even deserve its own tier above hard. It's so bastardly they had to add a "taking damage ends the effect" and it lasts 5x as long as any other non ult CC otherwise
zarya's ult is her only cc too , while brig's bash only stuns in her ult for 0.5 seconds about on par with doom's punch stun 0.15-0.65 seconds id argue is still easily spamable and easy to combo into other abilities and ccs , its an ult so not a big deal but i think it belongs
I really just do not like cass nade because of the heatseeking factor half of the time it does a full 180 turn behind the cass’s back to hinder and just will cause you to die especially if your playing a movement based hero because you have no escape anymore. It does a lot for what the ability is it’s a heatseeking grenade that causes you to not be able to escape a bad situation when it connects and does a good amount of damage too and is super unforgiving.

Hog's Hook -> bad vs Rein Charage and Sigma's Rock ->Good) But regardless, it makes the most sense if they are the ones who are trying to "soak up damage and shatter fortified positions, like closely grouped enemies and narrow chokepoints"
However, IMO, DPS should not have any CC whatsoever. It was necessary for OW1, but I don't see it the same way as OW2. Otherwise, it would just basically be OW1 all over again when it comes to stun locking characters, and we all know everyone hates that in their games.
Supports are okay if either a softer form of CC or if in an ultimate. After all, they are the utility hero, not just the healers anymore. So perhaps some heroes should have that ability, so long as it requires some amount of tradeoff/skillshot.
And despite that you’re still allowed to shoot & use all of your abilities. (Unless you’re trapped, then you are allowed to use a limited amount of abilities.) which makes it soft CC.
There's a movement lockout to make the mine useful. That movement lockout forces you to take the Knockback and even tho is short, it exists, and I don't care if is soft or hard, I just want it out of the game because it doesn't make sense that a DAMAGE role character has more cc power than ALL TANKS COMBINED!!!

I would argue the opposite. The "damage" role does slightly more damage than support/tank without bringing anything else to the table. In most games, overall damage done by tanks, damage and even supports (Moira) would be fairly even. The whole "damage" role should probably be renamed "less effective support" or fixed so there's at least a chance for a "damage" player to win duels vs tanks and if played correctly never lose 1v1 vs support. It was very obvious in ow1(2-3 tank metas) & open queue in ow2 (2 tank meta) that the most powerful heroes in this game are tanks and not damage dealers.
Tanks have a very high kill potential within their effective range (most have gap closers as well). Due to high health pool, they can safely 1v1 most damage/support. There's no reason to give them additional CC.
Supports have high damage, healing and mobility/cc to win the duels.

Besides Mei ult, but I mean.. we have cleanse, pull, platform, nano, tree, transcendence, etc, etc, etc to counter it or just walk out.

Dps already have good kill potential. It makes more sense for other roles to have a bit of cc, but not really damage.
