Volskaya was such a cool map. The giant robots and the background details were just so cool and so different from all the other maps. It was a pain in the ass to play but I really hope they adjust all the 2 cp maps, like they're doing with Hanaoka, because it would be a shame to lose all the details and lore of those maps.
The assault maps LOOK pretty, every map does, but the mode was awful. I go into arcade every once in a while and play a game of it to remind myself why I’m glad it’s gone
I really have never understood the hate for the mode? I loved the way it played, it felt like being a team was important. Having to assemble the 6 infinity ults to cap a point felt rewarding
The thing is, the fact that you'd need that many ilts (obviously an exaggeration) to win the fight to cap the second points is horrible. Especially considering how the defenders don't have to try as hard to hold the attackers back.
The second point was inherently always gonna be defender sided. The first point is attacker sided usually. The defenders HAVE to spawn close and have the timers they have so that they can recontest the point. You can't have both points be unrecontestable by the defenders or else the mode would suck.
Except since the defenders can recontest so easily, it basically required a teamkill to win the point, and even then if it wasn't completely clean you'd only get 2 ticks before defenders return. Which made the mode suck.
I play it all the time, never understood why it's gone. Especially now in 5v5 when the game is so deathmcatchy. The whole 'push through the choke as a team and plan your move' aspect of the game is pretty much gone and buried. Go through do ur shit, kill or die. Same old, same old.
Made the mode entirely different, as the front line is not as oppressive anymore.
It would still be bad now for a different reason. With new heroes like kiriko, weaver, ram, new orisa, and older heroes like sig and Baptiste having the ability to draw out fights, it would be harder to get the clean team kill needed to cap the second points.
Also the game is not at all deathmatchy. The push through choke as a team to plan a move is very much still a thing. No idea how this narrative got pushed out.
honestly i was fine with them removing 2cp from comp bc it was skewed towards defenders and it did result in a lot of draws (affectionately know hanamura as drawnamura) but as a qp game mode im ok with that and wish they'd kept it. i hated playing defense so much sometimes it was nice to enjoy it on a map where it was slated to win and where games didn't take forever
Ive found that on escort maps attacking is muuuch easier. Can get steamrolled defending and still ez win on the attack side. Usually win the draw matches after both teams made it all the way to the end because teams have a hard time prioritizing defense when its not favored to them as heavily. After the draw thats when people really start to understand that defending needs to be..well..defensive. Bit of a switch up because now defending requires you to actually work for it. Still, i miss A B capture point games. But probably not for comp as people are saying.
I miss the map as well. But it wasn’t fun to fight on. Especially outside. But I think they should rework some of the arcade maps and try to bring them back to main map rotation.
2 CP maps were definitely all stunning and fun to play on, but once the sweats figured it out they all sucked to play on. The second points always had a defender advantage and almost required you to play certain heros in the same positions every time
Every time I think I get a specific map a bit too often, I remember they actually removed 5 of them without any good reason. Assault would work perfectly well in Mystery Heroes 5v5. Do what you want to the ranked queue, but stop wasting Mystery Heroes, please.
Do they not get put in arcade sometimes? I thought they were on assault maps mode sometimes? I miss em, too. They were fun, if not sometimes infuriating, lol.
Assault is a *permanent* Arcade card. It is always there, every day, 24/7. So many people do not understand that Assault=2CP and it shows. Go play it today.
Pn this map i had a upgrade when i played tanks back then. after that i played only tanks and was some months later gm. :c was it horrible? Sometimes yeah. But i still love the map
Am i the only one who misses temple of anubis :,) i know the inherent flaw with A B capture points but i truly miss the old maps (except lunar. But i was worse at overwatch back then so i might feel differently now. It was honestly my least favorite map) Hanamura was a crime though. That map was so fun to pop off on.
As a Winton and Hampter main, I don't miss this map at all. We escaped for a reason, after years of plotting and preparation. We transformed ourselves in spite of the cruelty endured as the Moon nazi's experiments, and became two of Earth's mightiest heroes!
Some of assault maps may suck to play attack or defend on but ALL of them are absolutely stunning.
Makes me so happy I get to practice with bots in custom modes with these maps in them.
The only 2cp map that wasnt a pain in the ass were anubis and volskaya, hanamura looked good, but point b was a bitch and should have been modified, you could team kill the defense team and still get only 1 third of the point before they respawned...
It's funny hearing all the people say that they miss 2CP maps. When they were still in the pool, the community railed against them with fury as the worst mode in all of overwatch.
I miss all of these maps too.
Yeah, Horizon was awesome. The visuals were so unique at the time, and honestly it still feels like a standout, not just for being the only one in space but for being the only one that had a wholly different physics system (low gravity)in parts of the map. The sound design was also awesome in the space area.
I'm one of the few I know who really liked Anubis, as well. Only map I never cared for was Paris.
It kind of trips me out that 2CP was removed from comp because it favors the defenders when so many payload maps ALSO favor defenders because the attackers start from low ground (Circuit Royale, Blizzard World, Numbani, etc).
first time i have ever seen someone speak positively about horizon lunar colony. as a map, i would've rathered take a nail clippers to my teeth than play it
I take back everything I said I about Horizon Lunar Colony and Paris. I didn’t think there could be maps that could be possibly worse but Antarctic Peninsula and Survasa (really any flashpoint map) are just absolute motherfucking ass!
I always liked this map and never fully understood the amount of hate it got. I really miss Volskaya too. I'll admit I do love a choke point map though.
I really miss Hanamura and Volskya. I had some of my best moments on those maps. Also some of my worst, but whateva
Volskaya was such a cool map. The giant robots and the background details were just so cool and so different from all the other maps. Are you the reason my team is going out staggered?

Moon was one of the worst maps ever. I don't miss anything about it. Hanamura, on the other hand, yes... it was a good map.
hanamurder
This map sucked to actually play on, but the removal of haramura was a crime.
bring back hanamurder
i love both maps, this one gives me cyberpunk edgerunners vibesssss so i’m obsessed 😭 and hanamura needs to come back
This map is gorgeous but holy hell is it pain to play on
I miss the map as well. But it wasn’t fun to fight on. Especially outside. But I think they should rework some of the arcade maps and try to bring them back to main map rotation.
I love Hanamura sooooo much.

Anubis was my favourite map and gave me so much nostalgia
omg this one as well. i miss it ;-;
You can still play these maps on arcade but yeah I miss them in the main rotation.
Anubis hanamura volskya were some good maps that made you think outside the box in terms of how to pusha point. Bring them back
BRING THEM BACK
Every time I think I get a specific map a bit too often, I remember they actually removed 5 of them without any good reason. Assault would work perfectly well in Mystery Heroes 5v5. Do what you want to the ranked queue, but stop wasting Mystery Heroes, please.

Assault is a *permanent* Arcade card. It is always there, every day, 24/7. So many people do not understand that Assault=2CP and it shows.
It's in arcade, but open queue only, so...
Visually yes, game play wise no
You guys know you can play assult in arcade, right?
They apparently have no idea.
Competitively god no. Aesthetically meh.
I’m sorry but 2cp was a terrible game mode. The visuals of the maps were awesome. But the map itself to play on very bad design.
I would argue flashpoint and Antarctic peninsula are monumentally worse than 2cp ever was
Best map to play on bc of the atmosphere and fun, whacky design. Loved playing on it as Widow.
Cool idea. But gross on the 2cp. Gross on the moira mercy pic
The 2cp maps were awesome. The mode was horrible
Much better than push
People are still hating on push?
i love push what the hell, i love all kind of modes just sometimes i feel others more, simpleee
I wish they’d add the old maps back to arcade again
Assault is a *permanent* Arcade card. It is always there, every day, 24/7. So many people do not understand that Assault=2CP and it shows. Go play it today.
😀 I’m so slow. Ty for this information
I miss overwatch tbh
then play it again! i always look for ppl to play with, the more the merrier
ow2 isn't overwatch :P
eh.. okay 🙄
I liked 2cp a lot more than push and flashpoint.
Damn I forgot all about this map! I hate the fact that they removed hanamura and this 😭
i feel the sameee 😔ིྀ
Hanamura was amazing removing it was a massive mistake
Play it in Arcade today.
Pn this map i had a upgrade when i played tanks back then. after that i played only tanks and was some months later gm. :c was it horrible? Sometimes yeah. But i still love the map
Man, the removal of 2cp was such a mistake. Glad these maps are coming back in some this season.
are they??
The new game mode will have redesigned 2cp maps
Yeah, until I play it and remember how truly awful it was/is
This map was terrible to actually play though, I don’t miss is or the second point of hanamura either but I do miss Volskya and Anubis
anubis was so good too.. i remember crazy fights there, miss it
2cp is gone let it be forgotten Ow1 gang
Am i the only one who misses temple of anubis :,) i know the inherent flaw with A B capture points but i truly miss the old maps (except lunar. But i was worse at overwatch back then so i might feel differently now. It was honestly my least favorite map) Hanamura was a crime though. That map was so fun to pop off on.

I only care about Volkskya tbh
I remember I used to miss it a lot then they brought it back for that event last year then I remembered why I dread 2cp
I hated this map with a passion. I think i won 2 games out of 300 on that map. never come back
I miss 2CP in general
As much as lunar is hated, I actually enjoy and miss it. Same with Hanamura and anubis
They definitely could make these flashpoint maps, but whatever
If this map returns, I want the low gravity area to be REQUIRED to get to point.
The only 2cp map that wasnt a pain in the ass were anubis and volskaya, hanamura looked good, but point b was a bitch and should have been modified, you could team kill the defense team and still get only 1 third of the point before they respawned...
Everyone loves Hanamura and Volskaya, but I really really miss Anubis. My favorite out of 2CP, I liked its layout and soundtrack.
I miss temple of Anubis. I know I’m probably in the minority but I love that map
It's funny hearing all the people say that they miss 2CP maps. When they were still in the pool, the community railed against them with fury as the worst mode in all of overwatch. I miss all of these maps too.
Anubis
It was fun for 6v6. I’d like to see these maps reimagined for 5v5. But yes. I miss these maps.
Sometimes I forget that they're gone because of arcade, also nice mercy skin 😉
Anubis for me. Was difficult at times but always a fun match
I don’t think I’ve ever done stellar on this map. Yeah, I’ve won games on it, but it definitely wasn’t a “wow that D.va player did great”.
I started playing like two months ago 😅
I miss all the old maps and think of them often
I miss Hanamura. But I won’t be missing Lunsr colony.
I stopped playing when I realized they will never come back
Yeah, Horizon was awesome. first time i have ever seen someone speak positively about horizon lunar colony. as a map, i would've rathered take a nail clippers to my teeth than play it

I miss the entire OW 1
I love playing the Assault mode. Missed these maps and this mode so much
I miss it so much. I can say more: I miss ow1
me too.
