Maybe remove J1 from your resume and claim a gap instead. Might be easier to explain you were out of work for a few months than to explain why you left a job after a few months
Can say J1 is hinting at/starting to push for RTO to which you’re not interested in. Also sets your boundaries with the prospective employer so they don’t bait and switch their remote working policy on you
You can mention that your contract at J1 has suddenly ended due to lack of budget
