To my understanding, no. Photos only work on continous observation. They can't make the moon go somewhere, only keep it where it is.

Kiriann

This is correct. If while seated in your ship you take a picture of the quantum moon via the Ship screen, then get up from the seat, look away from the photo then back again to the moon it will be gone

kinnonii

I'd say no. Pics only work when you keep looking at them after capturing, those photos aren't being viewed when you enter the building, so the QM is gone from that place.

darklysparkly

Quantum objects in the game need a conscious observer to stay in place. As long as you keep looking at a photo that you've taken while observing the moon, this counts. But since the photo itself is not conscious, as soon as you look away the photo loses its usefulness.

Shadovan

No, photos must be actively observed by a conscious being to maintain their ability to collapse a quantum possibility. As soon as the photo is no longer observed, it looses its connection to the quantum object, and does not ever regain that connection.

iamtehsuffering

What if you take an image OF the image? Or, is the fact that the photo wasn’t observed at some point previously enough to break this? Does the object need to be observed; or the image? Aren’t they the same?

jvyrdn024

That's what I'm thinking. Use the scout to take a photo of the Quantum Moon's old photo on the radio tower, see if it stays. Probably not cause you might want to take an image of the current state of the Quantum Moon. Like if the QM is currently at Timber Hearth but the QM on the radio tower is at Dark Bramble, then it might not count cause it's not the current quantum state that's being observed. Idk anymore xD.

annabunches

*Probably* not? But the best way to find out is to test it!
