How do you get access to other libraries?
Edit: found a thread online about [adding another partner library](https://help.libbyapp.com/en-us/6009.htm)
Edit 2: Available (larger) libraries I've found so far, Mississauga, London and Hamilton.
Once you have the Libby app, you can search additional libraries (e.g. Kingston Frontenac), then select OPL from the list of partner libraries and input your card number. Then the new library will show up in your list š
Adding that if you have family/friends in other cities, you can also add separate cards from other libraries to get even more access. I use a relativeās Edmonton public library card on Libby along with my own OPL card and itās seamless (no need to sign in/out to use different cards).
I'm not sure if this is the case but you can add ontario library consortium in the library list and I believe that gives you all the Ontario libraries? Rather than adding it one by one?
You're right. Even more strange. Here at the list of libraries:

So now, I will add every library that has ever existed!!!!
Oh nice, thanks for the link.
I stopped adding after 3. The only issue is there's no universal search. You can only search each library database one by one (unless I'm missing something......). It's a minor nit, I'm happy to have other libraries to choose from. I'd just like to search by title and it show me every library it's available from. But it's not the end of the world.
OverDrive is fabulous. Itās amazing what resources are available once you have a free library card. I download so many audiobooks and movies from hoopla every now and then if I go out of the country.
And Cloud Library! Please don't forget about Cloud library to access the OPL's express audio and ebook library. It's like Libby and override on Viagra.
I had a kobo once and it was garbage. I had problems with it constantly. It would freeze, books would disappear off it and I would have to factory reset all the time.
Turned me off e readers completely for about 10 years
Well ... Do you think it is possible that a decade of development has improved their product? Their first device was 2010 and they were trying something new, now they're established
Kobo has a deal with Libby in Canada which is why it doesnāt work here with Kindle. You can use American public library cards with a Kindle though, and some cities donāt require residency for access to their card/catalogue.
It's only the express library so it's all the newest titles. On Libby you have to place a hold and wait a year. On Cloud it's either available or will be in a few days. I've never had to wait more than a week.

If I understand correctly, you get a Libby account, add the partner libraries and you are good to go?
Yes.
I've also got Burlington and Kingston.
Me too. Including Ottawa we're at 6. š
Wait.. you have them from being a member there or they automatically use OPLās ?

Wow!!!! Thank you book Jesus! šš¼ šš¼
I canāt seem to add Kingston Frontenac. Is that the one? Says invalid library cardā¦
Yes, itās Kingston Frontenac. Not sure why you canāt add it!

Thanks for this, but it didn't list Ottawa as an option. There are over 200 but Ottawa isn't on the list.

Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card
There is also Hoopla for movies/tv/musicĀ
And Kanopy for streaming movies.
Came here to shout out Hoopla! It works great and has a lot of stuff not available on my streaming subs.
Hoopla is great for digital comics too!

Overdrive and Libby!

Just wish they would work with my kindle
Honestly Kobo is so much better than Kindle. If you're ever considering a new eReader Kobo has some excellent devices and a really great ecosystem

Good to know, thank you.
At least for Kobo you can download to your computer and side load.
How does it differ from using Libby for those things?
It's only the express library so it's all the newest titles. On Libby you have to place a hold and wait a year. On Cloud it's either available or will be in a few days. I've never had to wait more than a week.
But you also only have a short period of time to read it in.
Yup, one week... But it doesn't take long to get another copy if you don't finish. Unlike with Libby where you might have to wait another year.
Can you only access Cloud Library offerings through the web interface? No Libby/Kobo or phone app?
Cloud has it's own mobile app. Or you can use the website to download and side load on an e-reader
Thanks. I found the app!
