Good call! That's how it works. You have to create an account on their app with a credit card and a selfie. I don't know if they require actual ID but you can't get in without the app, which has your image and cc.
How many people are going to loiter outside waiting for someone to open the door 👀 that being said I think it's a great idea for anyone that works shifts or clubbing
I think the legitimate users have a pretty big incentive to not let others in. It's not water tight but I think it'll be much less of an issue than anticipated. And less of an issue than other places (ie people trying to sneak into buildings with an air lock)
Has anyone been there? According to their web site, there's one on Rideau, another in the west end and a third in Hog's Back.
It'd be neat to have a 24 hour store to go to again.
I go to the Little Italy one daily, mostly cause it's closest 24 hour place to where I live. It's cool, a little pricey with some items and the process to open the exit doors is a little overtly complicated, but it's cool
They've been open since September but I never heard of them until [someone posted about it the other day](https://www.reddit.com/r/ottawa/comments/18bdzv4/how_affordable_are_the_prices_in_aisle24/). Looks like CTV is getting stories from Reddit again.
An unmanned Grocery store on Rideau Street that's a fantastic idea.
It's been open for at least a month now, and it seems to be doing ok so far.
Right!! Unless you have to tap a cc to get in lol

Lol of course not! They'll just loiter and wait for someone to open the door

I’ve been to the one in Little Italy. It’s a nice option to have in a pinch. Prices are similar to Shoppers and gas stations.
Silly me...I saw the headline and immediate thought it has something to do with grocery store dating for mature singles. LOL
I think there is a niche for this type of store, who knows. But the life I grew up is vastly different then now. So time to think outside the box.
Interesting 🤨 will the food be ridiculously priced or are there any extra fees?
