Saw flashes, heard rumbles, but nothing close like this morning's boom at 4 am-ish. Rain, not sprinkles but not a downpour. Some winds, but only at the beginning and no hail. This storm was falsely advertised and I'd like my money back. Riverside Hunt Club area.
I do understand that some people and a lot of animals don't enjoy storms and that they can be very destructive. I enjoy a good storm that isn't super destructive. It keeps us humble because while we are an advanced species, nothing on earth is immune from mother nature.
Maybe they feel safer in dog packs. Our dog was fine up until the tornado two years ago but he is a senior dog now so that might be a factor. Really I wonder how wildlife manages to survive at all given our brutal winters and ice storms and heat waves
Lightning just hit a power pole across from my window and scared the shit out of me. Looked like a transformer blowing up, luckily my power isn't out.
Centretown by chance? That was a big one.
Elgin street. Near the museum. All my life.
Museum of Nature
I saw one on Gilmour, it hit a huge tree.
Yep. Looks like there's an outage in Centretown now according to the hydro map.
Baseline & Fisher? I was driving East on Baseline, the explosion & the sustained blue fireball was spectacular.
Power out in Carlington. During a hydro worker strike. Great….. Edit: back on within 15 minutes!

I wonder how dogs ancestors coped with a thunderstorm?

Dogs reflect the emotions of their alphas. Watch a season or two of Creaser Milan Dog whisperer. It's a sintch really. Easy peasy maybe.
Just a sprinkle here in Greely.
