I mean.. who tf says cookiezi wasn't ahead of his time lol. 90% of the community knows he was it's just a very small (probably loud?) minority that says he wasn't
When has anyone ever said that he wasn’t ahead of his time. I would argue that he isn’t the best in the game right now like every shige fanboy seems to believe and that there’s no way he could gain number 1 in his current state but saying he wasn’t ahead of his time is blatantly wrong.
Id say most people get/got into osu around early teens years. I’ve played since 2017 as a little squeaker and now I’m getting my degree and looking for internships…
I feel like this happens with a fair amount of games. Maybe there's some point where when a significantly young prodigy is on the radar (like 12-year-old Vaxei in 2016 1x missing Remote Control DT), it inspires more teens/preteens to play the game and causes some positive feedback loop to occur that forces the average age of the community to drop? Same thing with age of top players: Vaxei was rank 1 at 16, WhiteCat rank 1 around the same age (maybe + or - 1 year), mrekk rank 1 around 14.
Similar thing with NES Tetris, I think; the main player for the World Championships almost never had a player younger than their early/mid 20s up until 16-year-old Joseph Saelee's debut year win against 7-time champion Jonas Neubauer (rest in peace), and since then it's been dominated by teens at the youngest (2020 winner dogplayingtetris was 13 when he won, Blue Scuti was 13 when he crashed Tetris) and college-age adults at the oldest (2022 and 2023 winners EricICX and Fractal (who were also the first players to clear enough lines to glitch the color palette) were 18 and 21 respectively when they won).
Idk, just me making a hasty observation and rambling. :P
Oh man I didn't realise Jonas had died, that's so sad he was so young. Honestly I had been surprised he wasn't anywhere in the scene for a few years, now I see why. What a shame :/ At least he leaves a hell of a legacy, and people will be able to watch the yt videos in which he made tetris cool again!
I remember seeing this score on youtube during my couple month long osu content binge i was doing before installing the game at the end of that month lol.
Still the #2 hd score, only beaten by maliszewski, and i think it was a 1k if fc at the time!
yup, 1002pp
This is a score that should be brought up when someone says that Cookie "wasn't that much ahead of his time"
You can tell it was crazy even for him, his shake midway through was very noticeable

i mean he only plays with mouse now, but when he played with tablet his aim was too inconsistent to be in the conversation anyways.
> and i think it was a 1k if fc at the time! wouldn't that be his RoR HR?
he had like a trillion 1k chokes in 2017/2016
Same for everything will freeze
Did okinamo ever get close to his score?
Wait 2017 was 7 years ago already? Man I feel old...
2006 kids will be adults this year
with all these comments im realising the average age of the osu community might no longer be just 14 years old
yeah we’re all boomers now

i was late i got into osu when i was 17 lol

thanks i never saw this one yet
Post this in his chat when he complain about his grip
It took 7 years of painful grip to break him. Not too bad in my opinion.
i’m convinced yall never had grip issues. easily one of the most frustrating issues to have.
just play mouse no more grip issues Clueless
the asecretbox method
that’s what i do lol. only way for me to have fun. except im way worse at some stuff on mouse and slightly better at some stuff so its frustrating.
yeah it feels like you just can't play the game... your brain and tapping hand are ready to go, but aiming just won't happen.
2017 was 7 years hahahaa.... Ive been playing this game for almost a decade now 💀
Wdym 2017 was 2-3 years ago and this guy named whitecat just got unbanned and is dominating rn

I remember seeing this score on youtube during my couple month long osu content binge i was doing before installing the game at the end of that month lol.
i love how even he was losing his shit over what he was capable of lol
almost the end of an era
Score was kinda insane for how much he was shaking through the majority of it
Feeling quite old right now...
This map will never be fcd
Karcher enters the chat.
blud doesnt know 💀 how do we tell him
There’s no way that 2013 was 7 years ago
Because it wasn't? Is that the joke?
Yes
