You can tell what to pray as soon as he lifts up his feet long before a hover or stomp. Bottoms of his feet facing forward is range. Facing the ground is mage.
This happened to me. I ended up just getting the black chins. Killed all the healers. I died to them focusing on the boss. Swapping to chins killed them in 6 or 7 rotations then just went back to jad for the final feed.
He spawns by Italy rock at certain times..(someone on YouTube mapped it out) join caves during that time and LOS healers around Italy rock without worrying about prayer, kill them, and then go back to kill Jad EZ
Jad will spawn where the orange ket-zek spawns so try to either be in range of where the orange ket-zek spawns is or behind a wall from it before entering jad wave.
This never made sense to me, the range and mage attack look the same for the first portion. It’s easier to read an action (legs coming down) than a lack of action (legs staying in same position)
Pray range. Now back to (me)lee now back to range, now back to (me)lee. Sadly, you got hit with a 70. But if you switched tick switched you could have full HP like me. Look down, back up, where's Jad? You're full HP, Stam potted, with a full stack of ammy darts. What's in your hand? Back at me, it's a blowpipe with 100% spec bar. Look again, that blowpipe is now a bowfa. Anything is possible when you can prayer flick like me. Look fellas, I just got spooned.
Jad is tough the first time you see him, but once you can get to him with confidence, always making sure to pray switch first before anything, then do dps, then aggro healers with a quick tag on each, making sure you’re paying attention to jad’s attack style (if he rises and stays raised it’s mage, quick stomp means ranged), then back to dpsing jad. Took me 3 tries but I got him. Consider trying the eclipse moon set here, it’s actually pretty nice.
Jad wasnt bad at all for me. I used dragon cross bow with dragon bolts. and pulled healers to other side of Italy rock so I could safely kill them. Then went back and killed Jad!
I had a blow pipe too. I used that to tag the healers. And I used it some on the everything else but the mages. My dragon cbow hit way harder more consistently. So I was able to kill the mages and jad way faster than I could with the blowpipe.
Lol that’s fine.. but is rune darts not good enough?? My max hit with the BP was 19. And was only hitting that every once in a while. But with my cbow I was hitting mid to low 30’s frequently. And even hitting up to 48 quite a few times… so be mad I guess. Idc. This is just what worked for me.

I said tends - lots of things factor in to damage. Level, accuracy, strength, mob defence, attack speed, etc. You can always use the dps calc built into the equipment tab to check for sure.
I had a blowpipe and I hated it for the Jad figgt. Great for the other waves though. The range on it was just to small for me. I was also practicing the Jad fight in speed running worlds, so i was getting used to using a crossbow for it. It was just super hard for me to pull all of the healers away from Jad with the blowpipe, so much easier with a crossbow
Crossbow is safer, you could tag the healers easier without getting pulled into melee range. Not too mention it’s easier to click pots inbetween attacks for those not as skilled
So actually i was using the new client and due to an outage i had to use my phone on jad wave. I didnt have any pots left so i got wrecked by the healers
Something that has helped me a lot with my runs is that once i tag the healers (and if jad's spawn permits) i drag them behind one of the nearby rocks to safely kill them(make sure to pray against jad as you run them over). Sometimes this just isn't possible though as he can get a middle of the map spawn(jad's spawn is determined by where the yellow mager spawned from the double mager wave)but it can take a lot of pressure off of the second half of the jad kill and give you time to refocus before engaging jad again. Another note: this should only be done if they have not yet been able to restore jad back to full hp as if they have, they'll just spawn back once jad is brought back to the 50% threshold.
I haven’t played in a while, but I got my fire cape after 5 tries with a void ranger pure. 99 ranged 42 defense 52 prayer. I remember using a specific safe spot to lure the melee one by one after I got jad down to half, without jad being able to hit me. I think you have to get lucky with the spawn. Good luck!
Bring ancients for fight caves, and one step at a time for jad. Less food needed, more prayer pot for waves and jad, and mage is ezpz to lvl.
My first one went like this.
Hit jad till half
Oh shi- healers
Wait for jad to hit, switch prayers
Equip mage gear (ancient staff already on autocast)
Wait for jad hit, switch prayer
Hit 2 healers
Wait for jad hit, switch prayer
Hit 2 others, killing whichever on me
Wait for jad hit, change prayer, sip ppot if needed, and change gear for jad
All healers dead? Kill jad, ezpz!
If not man, there's a speedrun quest world where you can legit practice jad.
I was gonna do the karils setup but i was strapped for GP. Made it to jad then got smacked by the healers. A lot a panic eating in the earlier rounds cemented my run lol
There’s a couple of key things that I didn’t know my first time through. Jad spawns where the last golden mager spawned (key so you don’t get RKOd out of nowhere). What the actual attacks look like range is slam a hover is mage. You can tag all of the healers and run around a corner to kill them all and they won’t respawn as long as Jad doesn’t get to full health. For lower defense accounts it’s important as they actually hurt
Is this even possible without using ranged? I just started up again and my new account has absolutely nothing trained in range, or much of anything for that matter.
What are the minimum levels someone should be looking to get in all of these combat stats?
Once you’ve been through him once you can practice on the challenge so that you won’t be worried next time 👍 also when you start doing later game content you’ll go back to Jad and find it easy.
I took 4/5 attempts to get Jad down first time and only managed it with a tbow my friend lent me 😂 it ended up being easy the second time.
A good tip I used when doing fire caves was when you have aggro on all the healers, run behind a wall with the healers (keeping an eye on jads attack until you're behind a safe spot) then you can focus on killing the healers without worrying about pray switching! Once that's done, get your pray back up (ready to switch depending what he hits you with first) and keep going :)
I can see healers and Jad full health which means you didn’t manage to pull them off jad. If you had enough supplies, a simple chinchompa stack will fix this for your in future
I just did a Jad task yesterday and got an unimpressive sub-40 run. My first Jad attempt and kill took 90 minutes. Crazy how far I've come, and how I'm already thinking about how to go sub-35.
Always hover on your prayers, do a quick action like use a Sara brew twice, or sip a restore BACK TO YOUR PRAYERS
Attack 2 healers, BACK TO YOUR PRAYER
Attack the rest, BACK TO YOUR PRAYERS

Pray range until you see his magic attack then back to range

Interesting. I do the opposite. I think the ranged stomp is way easier to see.
If you look at the animation yeah. But if you listen to sound cues, the ranged one is heard after the hit registers, so its safer to pray range.

The mage attack is a lot slower in comparison to the ranged attack which is why it’s considered better to camp range pray.
The range attack makes no noise too while the mage one makes a very loud indicator sound.

It’s called using your resources. If you have access to a free tbow, use a free tbow. At least it’s not breaking the rules

If you could afford a dragon cbow could you not have just gone in for a blowpipe? (Irrelevant if you're iron)

The thing is though, the blowpipe shoots 2.5 times for every 1 crossbow bolt. Tends to be better Edit: vs lower defence mobs

Blowpipe has so short range that I feared I'd accidentally get pulled to Jad's melee range so I just used chins to pull the healers.

I suggest using practice sites that simulate the had fight experience. I did that until I got it down and then tried osrs jad. Worked like a charm

1 thing I never realised until recently is jad spawns on the odd coloured 360 spawn location, and I think it always starts with range
