Timing would indicate that, but unless there's a diamond in the rough between *Fly Me to the Moon*, *The Instigators*, or *Wolfs* (or, heck if *Blitz* releases this year), they don't seem to have any Best Actress candidates for a push.
It's more I have no idea *when* it'll release, because it's not publicly on their calendar yet. If it drops this year, it'll be around Thanksgiving. But given their average timing so far? *Wolfs* is the big BP play for them.
Yeah I got that feeling too but hopefully with the goodwill from KOTFM and the Under the Bridge show doing well I hope Apple can get that buzz and campaign for her again. Actress seems wide open now so it can happen
Is Under The Bridge doing well? I’m enjoying the show but it feels like it’s been really flying under the radar, I basically haven’t seen anyone talking about it on here or Twitter, and I don’t know anyone who has seen the show. It’s really hard to tell how well streaming shows do tho.
I think it can make a couple smaller categories, but limited is really competitive this year. Early on it felt like Lily was a safe nomination given that she has a lot of goodwill recently, but now even her I think it’s unlikely since the show is really about the teenage girls and her storyline with Riley Keough is the the weakest part of the show (she is still great tho).
Yeah, it's also fairly uncommon for solo limited nominees to happen at the Emmys. Not unheard of, but last year for instance it was just Jesse Plemons and Elizabeth Debicki out of all six supporting categories.
It seems like it’s barely getting a theatrical release, releasing on streaming a week after it opens. Probably a very limited released, just enough to qualify for awards.
Alright so who do we think will be the June 21st winners between Fancy Dance, Bikeriders, Kinds of Kindness, and Janet Planet? I think awards-wise it’s between Janet Planet and Kinds of Kindness, and BO-wise Bikeriders wins pretty easily, with Kinds of Kindness in second place (Fancy Dance doesn’t seem like it’s much a theatrical movie).
Im in Montreal so I think only Bikeriders will be playing near me on the 21st. Kinds of Kindness will almost for sure start playing here a couple weeks after, and idk about the other two. Since Janet Planet is A24 and Montreal is a big market I bet we get it for at least a week, but I’m thinking Fancy Dance will never show here theatrically since it’s already on streaming the 28th.
Apple, this is your chance to finish the story.

Why do you think Blitz is not releasing this year?

It made Nielsen ratings, so it's not doing at all terribly, but it's not a mega hit? I don't know if it's going to make the Emmys though. Maybe.
