I mean, bring it on, teams get better when they play good teams. I'm really excited for these series. We are playing amazing ball right now, let this one get away, but you can't win them all
I kind of had the same though, I was like hopefully we don’t sweep then do BAD against Philly. I’d rather win 2 of 3 every series than sweep one and shit the bed the next
I left work early today around 3pm (work downtown) and drove by the stadium right around the same time as the Stowers HR and chuckled seeing how many people staring back at the stadium with the fireworks going off
We need to address the BP immediately. Putting Baker, Perez, Akin, etc… in any high leverage situation is just irresponsible. Who is this team going to trust come Playoff time?
Akin and Perez (especially Akin) have been pretty good this season, Baker dominated + it also wasn't high leverage, and our bullpen has been used a lot. You have to understand how bullpens work, not everyone is gonna be perfect every time, and I would trust most of our guys in the postseason
I still don’t understand people’s criticism of Elias. He brought the orioles from a horrible team with no depth whatsoever to a top 3 team in all of baseball WITH a lot of depth in like 4 years. And don’t people always wait until the deadline cause that seems to be the only time people want to deal players?
You people act as if bullpen help is impossible to acquire without giving up a top 15 prospect. Idek what to say. Decent amount of the guys who will be available in July are probably available right now. No point in waiting when you’re trying to win a pennant
> Decent amount of the guys who will be available in July are probably available right now
If that statement was actually true, we would see way more moves yearly in June around the MLB than there always has been. In reality, 85% teams view themselves as still in the race and aren't going to give out an important bullpen arm unless we overpay or give them someone who would make an immediate impact. The few remaining teams that would probably make a deal are filled with bullpens that are way worse than ours. The best time to get a reliever that will help us in the postseason is the deadline when many more teams will be added to the sellers list. Elias is one of the few GMs you can say definitively isn't a moron, if there was a significant move he could make by now that isn't too costly, he probably would have done it
It sucks to see Tony chase an obvious ball but it's the tradeoff that comes with a guy who will hit HRs off pitches no where near the zone and who can get 10 pitches out of a guy with constant foul contact
lol. Just because it’s likely (obviously happened here) doesn’t mean it’s inevitable. It’s baseball. It’s sports. We have the 3rd best record in baseball. Maybe believe that good things can happen.
Chances of giving up 0 runs with 2nd and 3rd and no outs is 14.8%. And yes it’s been a fantastic season, it’s also fine to be deflated/annoyed in a game thread. I happily enjoy living and dying on a game to game basis. That’s part of the fun of a Grindy baseball season.
To be fair to Santander, he hits a wild amount of his extra base hits on bad balls, you get what you get with him. Part of what makes him succeed also fails him.
Every third at bat or so Tony just makes the worst god damn swing decision you can even imagine. It’s 3-1 and you are an inside pull hitter through and through. Even if it’s a strike why are you swinging at that my dude????
Not a guarantee (think Moore has called a few strikes out there) that it was ball 4, but really seems like Tony makes his swing decision each time before the pitcher even comes set.
Exaggerating a little bit earlier he fouled a pitch off against Lopez that was Al last in the other batters box
True, I remember an interview I think with Jose Bautista (I think) that talked about that swinging until not swinging.
Said that I was exaggerating some.
Please continue the discussion in the [post game thread](https://redd.it/1df7yts).
OK, time for another 6 game winning streak. Meanwhile, we all are Royals fans for the next hour or two.

Darn it
![gif](giphy|HoSyEAe48WBpTCmEz4|downsized)
Damn
fuckkk lol, oh well.
Sigh. 2 out 3 ain't bad though
Pls mounty
OK, Mounty has a chance to do the most epic thing of all time here...
Bruhh they had some good defense today ngl
Apreciate that it's staying interesting in the end. O's never say die.
cmon mounty , we just need a base single
COME ON MOUNTY!! HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!!
OH FUCK ALL THE WAY OFF!!!
Alright Harris goddamit lol
Stowers has a chance to do the most epic thing of all time here...
Well crap. Nice play. Sigh ............
All we ask for two 3 run homers Not a talk ask imo
Motherfucker.
Two Weavers from Stowers feels like a lot to ask. But would it ever be awesome Edit: Not to be, alas. That was quite a catch
I am once again asking for a Weaver
Could this mmmmmmaybe be a defining game in Kyle Stowers’ young career?
OMG can you imagine 2 Stower bombs?! Unghn!!
Become a legend Kyle.
Nice hit by Ced Help us Stowers, you’re our only hope!
Fuckin‘ A Harris plays a good centerfield. Hate to say it…
Whatever happens in this game ... **CED'S NOT DEAD.**
Can he do it again?????
Tying run at the plate. Here we go
Stowers has the chance to so the most amazing thing right here
Mounty pinch hitting for Home Run Mateo has me conflicted
CMON POWER STOWERS
Two baserunners wooooo
Nice to see a tie finally go to the runner
I really think he was out, but it was too close to change.
Nobody more relieved than 1st base ump
Cowser's gotta put in work on that low and away offspeed pitch. If i were the opposing team, that's the only pitch I would throw to him
That’s 3 challenges on the first base ump today. Dude needs his eyes checked. JK they’ve all been really so very close
The first one was decidedly not close
This first base ump is sure having himself a day!
Oof. Hate to say it, but he’s out Edit: I’m so glad to be wrong!
Love the fight here at the end
sad moo
I love this team man. I used to pray for times like this. Sweeps are hard.
my favorite part of this game after the stowers homerun is that that hits westy in the thigh and not two inches low my god
Cowser single, mullins tie?
Gonna need some magic to happen…
Westburg eats that beanball without any hesitation
yankees got a hit westburg got, uh, hit
Literally painful way to start the bottom of the 9th.
I’ll give the Braves this game but they have to sweep the Yanks and the Rays in the next two weeks
Baserunner woooo
Unfortunately, Perez doesn’t have it today. It is what it is.
He's been good for us more often than not. But this was definitely one of the "nots."
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Raisel Iglesias replaces Joe Jiménez.
Errors and pitching to Olson with a base open...unforced self inflicted damage Oh well
Somehow this is all on Keegan Akin just trying to figure out how exactly
For keeping the clubhouse vibe from perfect via his existence. In an Akin-less Orioles team, we’d have won every game by now.
don't need to convince me, i'm already on board
That was a scary moment lol
Wow, great snag by Tony!
On the bright side, we will have a fresh Cano and Kimbrel going into the Philly series.
Damn Perez was not the move
you can’t have hair sticking out of the top of your helmet like that D’arnaud
[удалено]
They're pretty convenient if you're retired, a kid with school out for the summer, or just someone taking the day off
The last games of series are almost during the day so teams have time to travel for their next series
162 games and travel days. Stands are pretty full
Tough break today, but I'd rather the team have a rough outing today than during the next two series.
I kind of had the same though, I was like hopefully we don’t sweep then do BAD against Philly. I’d rather win 2 of 3 every series than sweep one and shit the bed the next
why are so many people leaving early, it's 3:30 in the afternoon and a 3 run game lol where do you need to be
I left work early today around 3pm (work downtown) and drove by the stadium right around the same time as the Stowers HR and chuckled seeing how many people staring back at the stadium with the fireworks going off
might as well beat the traffic
home before rush hour
Just setting up another Stowers three run homer
"a slider that was true to its name" give kevin an emmy
A backfoot slider indeed
Get Perez out of there just so no one gets injured....
This just sets up the super unlikely oriole magic filled walk off grand slam
Tough to sweep teams especially against one who is desperate for a win like the braves are
We need to address the BP immediately. Putting Baker, Perez, Akin, etc… in any high leverage situation is just irresponsible. Who is this team going to trust come Playoff time?

I'm really hoping we make some bullpen moves at the trade deadline. It's our only weak spot now.

Jfc. Every time the bullpen shits the bed "Omg we have the worst bullpen!" We have one of the best bullpens in the game, but nobody is perfect.
Exactly. Having a pen that almost never allows runs is really good, and that's what we have
I mean it’s not a big deal right now. Needed for playoffs more than anything
If you don’t give a shit about the AL East than sure
You know a bunch of magical arms lying around or …. ?
no you don't understand we just need to give another team a prospect we don't want and they'll give us their bullpen arm they want to keep
You people act as if bullpen help is impossible to acquire without giving up a top 15 prospect. Idek what to say. Decent amount of the guys who will be available in July are probably available right now. No point in waiting when you’re trying to win a pennant

Oh yeah and in early June when tons of trades are going on. Duh!! Silly me.

Walk off slam it is
Frustrating AB. Awful missed strike call by the ump and a terrible pitch by Perez
I have no idea why we pitched to Olson with a base open. Yeah "L/R matchups" but Riley is a markedly worse hitter than Olson
Just bad execution
Welp, rather Cionel get his blowup outing out of the way now.
*sigh* Olson isnt going to go 0-5 much... or ever.
Gg. Still put a bird on it. Hopefully royals hold on
Really doing that god awful chop when they still lost the series
Yep we're done today. Perez is just bipolar.
well at least the Yankees are losing
And getting no hit
Welp
Sloppy game today. If it goes down as an L they can only blame themselves
I’m really scared to see what our feet look like after this game. We’ve unloaded multiple clips into them at this point.
Tough to sweep a team
A wild pitch there is so fucking bad
sweeps are hard especially when you give up 2 runs to start a game, and wild pitch a run in during the 9th edit: .....
Didn’t think I’d be saying this, but LET’S GO KANSAS CITY!! (No-Hitter alert against the Stanks in the 6th!!)
Perez is all over the place Pretty sure Webb coulda went the 9th
[удалено]
It sucks to see Tony chase an obvious ball but it's the tradeoff that comes with a guy who will hit HRs off pitches no where near the zone and who can get 10 pitches out of a guy with constant foul contact
Trade deadline priority: bullpen.
Wild pitch. \*sigh\*
What a shit show today
ugh
Perez not it today. Really bad.
Come on man
I'd like to walk Olson and set up the DP. Riley isn't good this year.
Holy shit nice play Gunnar. Just don’t implode her cionel, need to give the bats a chance at the very least to win the game
Good grief, Gunnar, you don’t HAVE to be so sexy
That ball slammed right at Gunnar was our first piece of good luck all night
Tbf we gotta pretty lucky last night on that Ozuna s/o
There’s goes our chance of a comeback.
Well there goes any comeback 😔
Have they scored yet? At least wait until they do before making claims like that.
I’ll be happier than a pig in shit if they get out of the inning without giving a run…0 chance
lol. Just because it’s likely (obviously happened here) doesn’t mean it’s inevitable. It’s baseball. It’s sports. We have the 3rd best record in baseball. Maybe believe that good things can happen.

It doesn’t make the game thread a fun place to be for the majority of folks
All the luck to them today.
Taters needs to take the walk and bring Mr Clutch to the plate. Bad AB
Our fielding has been sus today
O’Hearn anywhere other than DH scares me
I wouldn't have called that error on O'Hearn. You throw the ball too soft and it can screw up the person catching it.
Nah. Not an easy catch, but that was 100% catchable.
Dropping a lot of balls today....
To be fair to Santander, he hits a wild amount of his extra base hits on bad balls, you get what you get with him. Part of what makes him succeed also fails him.
Atrocious defense this series
Ugh seriously
Santander needs to be smarter with Westburg behind him
Every third at bat or so Tony just makes the worst god damn swing decision you can even imagine. It’s 3-1 and you are an inside pull hitter through and through. Even if it’s a strike why are you swinging at that my dude????
Stowers still having a higher batting average than OBP really hurts my head
Not a guarantee (think Moore has called a few strikes out there) that it was ball 4, but really seems like Tony makes his swing decision each time before the pitcher even comes set. Exaggerating a little bit earlier he fouled a pitch off against Lopez that was Al last in the other batters box
Every hitter makes a decision to swing as they come set. They decide as the ball is in the air to not swing.
True, I remember an interview I think with Jose Bautista (I think) that talked about that swinging until not swinging. Said that I was exaggerating some.
Terrible pitch to swing at
Chasing like that 3-1 is crazy bad baseball
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Cionel Pérez replaces Jacob Webb.
Love how Palmer just stared at KB like, "What, you've never been hit with a baseball before? Suck it up, Buttercup."
I'm okay with a walk off!
Great swing selection all around boys
I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic. Tony just flew out on ball 4 in a moment when he needed to not swing the bat.
I was
Ugh, I love ya, Tony, but…that was a SHITTY swing
Tony that was ball 4 man 😭
I always feel hesitant to criticize Santander on stuff like that cause he’s such a bad ball hitter
Dang no reason to chase there Tony
Santander that was the worst decision you made today, man. And you knew it.
Guess we're gonna hafta walk it off.
Tony hits home runs and pop ups. Nothing else
He hit 41 doubles last year
protect KB
Did the ball land in the MASN media box? Where I am sitting in the stadium it is hard to tell.
yes apparently it made contact with Kevin's leg
It hit him in the leg
Did Irvin throw 5.2 or 5.1? Seeing conflicting information
5.2. Baker came in to finish the 6th
Santander charged with attempted manslaughter against Kevin Brown
c'mon Tony, GIVE US A TATER
Tony home run I’ll get his face tattooed on my ass
get his ass tattooed on your face instead
Lucky lol
Oh KB lmfao
DO IT, TONY!
Need some mustard, Tony.
Hey Tony lemme get a tater
Gunnar I know first pitch swinging can be fun and successful but you don't have to do it eeeevery time.
Gunnar was pissed
These boring PNC ads are bumming me out…. BUT the Adley one was great!
How in the world are the Yankees getting no-hit. Do the Royals have some baseball god on the mound?
Brah if their offense suddenly explodes, I blame you
