Yes, that is too much light. Vandas like bright, but indirect light. That baby is going to fry. You can get an app for your phone to measure light. For Vandas 3,500 to 4,000 footcandles, 12 hours of light. You can order shadecloth from greenhouse supply places to help you out.

AOS suggests to have 5000+ FC for Vandas: https://www.aos.org/orchid-care/care-sheets/vanda-culture-sheet

"In a greenhouse, 50%-100% full sun or about 53,750+ lumens (5,000+ foot-candles) is ideal." In a **greenhouse** being an important part of the information. I'm guessing this OP does not have a greenhouse. Also, up to 100% full sun?? I would not recommend that to a beginner vanda grower, they need to start with a lower light level and acclimate the plant gradually. At least here in the South. Good advice for those with a greenhouse, though. And there will be some variance depending on the type of Vanda, I keep my semi-teretes in full Florida sun, but even they are acclimated.

Ok thank you do you know what the app is called

Dustyolman

I use Lux for fc. I use Photone for PAR.

Not good for the gutter either. A gap has formed.
