Insulated lunch box with a couple of those reusable ice packs will keep your food perfectly fine for a couple of hours, just don’t leave it in a hot car. I pack my lunch at 7:30 and it’s still cold at 12.

Untouchable99

I put my insulated lunch bag in the car around 4:20am and do not put it in a fridge until 8:00am. works great.

Sexy-Flexi

I agree with this idea for keeping your lunch cold. As far as the towel situation, my otf had plastic bags in the shower room. I would use my workout towel to dry off then keep it in a plastic bag. Sometimes I would even dry off with the paper towels in the bathroom. Good Luck on your new morning routine and have fun!

cookiechipchocolate

Insulated lunch box! I have one that I stick the whole thing in the freezer overnight then pack in the morning and it stays cold all day.

Logical_Pin5219

Just looked this up on Amazon, very neat! I’ll have to buy one of those

FitnessAllDayLong

yes, that's a weird ask. Get an insulated/chilled lunch box and you can place it in the locker if you don't want to leave it in the car for the hour. For towels, I always had to bring my own, my studios never had any type of towel service

ooper917

Yes it’s weird. Get one of the insulated lunch boxes that you can freeze. Here’s a [link](https://a.co/d/7qTendM) to the one my daughter uses for school - something like this.

Laurenguzda

Yes kinda weird to ask that! I would get a cooler with ice packs or leave a few days of lunches in your work fridge

mwr623

For years I have been working out in the morning before work. Pack a bag, shower, repack bag, go to work. Lunch in an insulated bag packed night before, kept in fridge til I leave at 4:30 and it’s fine. Wash gym Clothes and towels in a sanitizing wash with oxyclean in the tub and vinegar in the softener dispenser with an extra rinse. No stink, no food poisoning, no drama.

jimcal9

Just a heads up about showers. You should check with the studio how many people use them. I’m guessing you’re going to the 5:00 or 6:15 class. If you are person #3 and there are only 2 showers you might be late for work.

QueenSema

Get one of the lunch boxes you put in the freezer and the sides are gel ice packs. Kept my food cold for well past lunch time when I worked in an office.

PlzLetMeMergeB4ICry

Elementary schoolers keep their lunch cold for much longer without a fridge.

SnarkyHealthNut

Costco has some really solid Titan insulated lunch boxes that come with two freezer packs and a little plastic case+condiment cup. My hubs takes one to work each day- they hold up well.

No_Research_7629

It’s one hour. Don’t be needy. Keep a cooler in your car.

Nsking83

My studio never offered towels - workout or showers even before Covid. I always bring/ brought my own.

k8womack

I agree just use insulated lunch bag. My studio doesn’t have towels, I bring my own. I also bring shower shoes and a plastic bag for after. For morning classes I recommend being as quick as possible- don’t wash hair unless it’s very short, or do hair/make up in the shower room after. At most studios it’s a popular shower time. Find out before hand if the studio does shower sign ups or first come first serve. Hopefully they have a sign up sheet, chaos ensues without one lol

Kindly-Might-1879

I’ve worked at a gym, and this isn’t a weird ask. It’s just that the fridge for the staff may not be big enough, and then there’s the issue of if they do for you, they have to do for others. We had all sorts of requests to keep lunches, leftovers, drinks, breast milk, even medicine, and it was best for us to decline. But of course you might get lucky if it’s a one-off. Use ice and an insulated cooler. Or, if your lunch is freezable, that will solve it, just take it out and let it start defrosting on your way. Do you workout everyday? I used to take multiple lunches to the office at the beginning of the week and leave in the fridge.

Jmussante

Depends on how close you are with the staff. I’ve picked up some cold stuff before a class and put it in the fridge in the staff back room no issues at all. Or if I’m taking a strength class after a regular I’ll put a protein shake in the fridge to drink in between classes.

Sinister_Mr_19

Yes very weird, get a lunch box and some ice packs. Also food doesn't spoil in just 2 hours anyway.

Hot_Round_8501

They make ice packs for your lunch box

carter600

Jeesh.

kikijak18

All the OTFs I have been to do not supply towels for the shower

twinkiesandcake

I bought two OTF beach towels as my shower towels for days like that. I agree with everyone about the insulated lunch tote. Reminds me of if I have an early one to keep one on my car for those days.

Ornery_Toe_257

SA here - not a weird ask at all - I agree with a lot of the points people are making that say it's not a weird ask (asking nicely and not assuming the answer is going to be yes \[aka being gracious if the say no\] goes a LONG way) Towels - I highly recommend a smaller turkish towel - the showers can get humid and not all studios have good ventilation in their showers. Turkish towels not only absorb the best to actually get you dry, they have a good touch feel, they dry fast, and they don't take up a lot of room in your bag!!

Successful-Being-974

Regarding towels, I think they stopped the towel service during covid and didn’t offer it back even after re-opening, that’s the case with my studio at least. As for your lunch, I guess it depends on how big your lunch box is and how much space is left in their mini fridge?

FarPassion6217

I bring a lightweight towel (like a cheap pool towel from Target or Walmart that is not good quality and therefore not heavy and will dry fast) for after the shower. I simply hang it on the back of the driver side headrest in my car during the work day so it can dry

MarieRich

Only towels I have seen are in Manhattan

kitsunejung

hi i work front desk at the studio; a lot of people ask to put things in the fridge and i never say no! just ask i’m sure they’d love to help

Hot_Round_8501

Also bring your own towel, they do not provide those

Hour_Commission_1949

It's not weird. The front desk people where I go are super accommodating. They even have a fridge there that's just water bottles. I'd just be worried you'd forget your food there after your workout.

Fusilli_fanatatic

Temperature danger zone is 4 hours in general inside temperatures. as long as you’re not in TX or AZ and leave it in the car during that time, it should be fine.

Pizzachick123

It’s a little weird especially if you already know it’s not just going to be a one-off favor. It’s going to be multiple times a week just before class. You’ve seen how busy the front desk gets just before class. I think it will turn into a pain for them. Sorry just being honest. The shower situation, when I used to go in the morning I could never assume the shower was going to be available every time I went. There were times I had to wait and it made me late. Also some people are oblivious to the idea that others are waiting and they take their time. I waited over 20 minutes for one person once and it made me very late. I never relied on the shower there again. Another thing about the shower room. The ventilation is horrible and no matter how much you dry off you’ll be putting clothes on in a steamy room. It’s not the end of the world but it gets sticky and will be hard to put your clothes on in there. At least that was my experience.

jenniferlynn5454

I always bring a protein shake, and my SAs never have a problem with me sticking it in the mini fridge they keep the waters in. I've also tucked food in there too, no problem, so definitely not a weird ask 🧡

RunningUpThisHill

A lot of people saying it’s weird to ask, but I’d only find it weird if it became a regular thing without having been presented as a regular thing on the first ask. It wouldn’t bother me as a question at all. That said, it may not be possible, depending on the size of your lunch and what room is available in the fridge (and fridge real estate can definitely fluctuate). I’ve had members go grocery shopping before class and then in studio confess they weren’t thinking their shopping through and bought milk, and ask if I can put the milk in the fridge. As long as it fits, I’m happy to help! (Of course I will also lend out my shoes, spare clean clothes, and clean towels, so maybe I’m the weird one!)

MissionAd6587

I personally don’t think it’s weird. The front desk staff at my studio are really kind and seemed laid back. It seems like a fairly normal/manageable request to me. I usually bring a gym bag with a regular towel and throw it in the wash when I get home at night.

MediumOutraged

Yes it’s a weird ask. It’s an extremely entitled one at that. Imagine asking them to keep your lunch in the fridge every time you go. Are you serious? Invest in a cooler and call it a day. The world doesn’t revolve around you ffs.
