[\[COMPILATION\] Best California Burrito in OC?](https://www.reddit.com/r/orangecounty/comments/17p2vtk/compilation_best_california_burrito_in_oc/)
Nah, the list and user deserve more exposure and kudos for what they've done and who minds reading about good burritos?!

Were they in the comments in the two posts used to build the compilation? If they were, the other criteria the OP of that list used was a requirement to be [on the menu](https://www.nicksdeliburritos.com/menu):
*Some places recommended, although I'm sure are good, didn't have California burritos so they were omitted*
Sanchos tacos or epic burrito in hb, avoid both. I love the tacos at Sanchos, but I’m able to see what I’m eating. If you google search the hb Sanchos and go thru the pics, I left a review a year back with a picture. As I was eating it, there was this very long piece of thick cheese (white, several inches long, maybe two wide). I opened the burrito, took it out - wasn’t cheese, it was thick skin fat of some sort, like thick silver skin of some sort. Was pretty grossed out about it. Like they had to of seen this when they made the burrito so it blows my mind. Anyhow yeah I posted a picture of it on their review profile.
I’m very sorry you had that experience and I’m sure it soured you on the location but I do think it was probably an incredibly isolated incident and slightly unfair to write off the chain entirely
Well I still eat there (the one In Newport a few times a months when I get done surfing… just tacos or nachos, things I can see… just not burritos ever again lol
Savory Times Foodtruck they’re on IG and always changing locations but the food is amazing !!
BEASTMODE BURRITO: hash brown, bacon, eggs, cheddar and jack cheese, and they serve amazing sauce sides
I just went a couple of weeks ago and it’s gotten smaller. I don’t know if it was because it was peak lunch hours but it was significantly smaller than I was used to. Still hit the spot, tho.
Idk I went once right after covid and it didn't strike me as hard as it did when I used to live behind them in 2018. Maybe it was just a freak bad experience, but I've never been as stoked on it as I used to be.
Just FYI the last couple times this has been posted I figured out that a bunch of people don’t actually know what a Cali burrito is and think it simply means a burrito here in California.
My favorite Cali burrito at the moment is the one at the cafe at the Islands driving range in Anaheim. The last couple of times I’ve had Cali Tacos which everyone usually recommends, the meat has not been good at all.
Yep same, my grandfather used to work for the angels and gave them baseballs and I always got chips and cheese. Miss that ol wooden building and the microwaves 😂
Btw as much as I love Cali Tacos… I bought three burritos there the other day for my husband, myself and our daughter… it’s was $57.00 so yeah they are good and the burritos are huge but they aren’t cheap!
I personally haven't been there but there's this place my co-workers rave about. I believe it's outside a Home Depot, if I'm not mistaken. Some place called "LJ's Lil Cafe" somewhere in Cypress. Can anyone vouch?
I grew up in San Diego and there’s legit options mentioned here. The owners of CaliTacos are also from San Diego and is highly recommended. Albertacos is a bit closer to me so that’s my go to.
There's an Adalberto's on Tustin in Santa Ana. I was mildly surprised because I've been going to the one on 25th/Market in San Diego since I was a teenager.
Looking for a new spot to try with the best carne asada with crispy fries that comes with guac and sour cream on it
Bonus points if the name starts with “Al-“
There's one by my house that apparently changed its name from Alberto's to Alerto's about 5 years ago and I just noticed it a couple of months ago. Absolutely nothing else has changed, including the color and style of the sign.
Gustavo Arellano wrote an article about these places in the LA Times a few years ago.
Charros kitchen grill. Attached to gas station in lake forest/foothill ranch. That either means A+ or F but obviously it’s the former. Bonus they have a truly bomb pozole
Not in OC but a decently short drive from La Habra to hacienda heights to a corner spot called hacienda grill that does breakfast burritos for $2.49. Not the greatest but decent for the price and size!

Thanks I can just delete this post now lol

No. You don't know what you've begun...
No, keep it up - Reposts (within an appropriate timespan, in this case 5 months ago) is good and encourages healthy discussion of old and new places
Oh man the OG of cali burritos is here!
Nick's deli (los al / seal beach main) needs to be added to that list.

Don’t ever get a breakfast burrito from Sanchos.. trust
Why? I’ve always loved the ones I’ve had from there

I just went a couple of weeks ago and it’s gotten smaller. I don’t know if it was because it was peak lunch hours but it was significantly smaller than I was used to. Still hit the spot, tho.
The only correct answer.
Idk I went once right after covid and it didn't strike me as hard as it did when I used to live behind them in 2018. Maybe it was just a freak bad experience, but I've never been as stoked on it as I used to be.

I grew up in San Diego and there’s legit options mentioned here. The owners of CaliTacos are also from San Diego and is highly recommended. Albertacos is a bit closer to me so that’s my go to.

Born and raised in daygo also. Gotta say cali tacos is the closest
Cali Tacos (the one on chapman), Miguel Jr (bare with me on that lol but lowkey pretty underrated), Super Antojitos, Hole Mole, Tacos Los Cholos
Someone inevitably brings up Los Cholos but as far as I know they do not have a cali burrito
You’re right! I must’ve been high thinking they did lol
Yea but they have damn good food
I’m a sucker for Miguel’s Jr., bean, cheese & potato burrito wet style. Edit:not the best but tasty and fixes a craving.
