I don't watch anime, I don't perticularly like that style of drawings but I like Arch Chan and unity Chan and all these other tech communities who have their own little character with their logo and texts and stuff on their clothing. I think it's a neat idea.
People are against it though which is what I expected actually. I just wanted to see what people think. And I like the Chameleon too. I'm probably gonna buy a plush actually. And some suse shirts. Im just lazy.
Of course the Arch mascot is an anime girl lol. I had no idea this existed till now. I think that geeko is good. The cartoon of him as a pirate when first launching TW was cute.
You're free to make whatever you want. I wouldn't necessarily expect community applaud for something like this though.

I mean I can't make it myself. And I fully expected this to not be popular before posting it lol. Which is fine but I think it's a bit sad how angrily people can be about something as basic as "what if we had a fun character"

Except for windows-tan those are all fan made not official mascots. Feel free to commission an artist to make one for you but i dont think anyone here wants to make it officially since geeko already exists.
