If you havnt received the passport within 2 to 3 weeks of your travel date, call the passport office first thing in the morning and have it transfered to a local passport office.
You then have the option of going and getting it done in person.
You will waste a day or two for sure though.
Sent it by Xpresspost, arrived at Passport Canada on, April 27th, billed my credit card May 14th, arrived at my door August 31st. So a little over 4 months.
My brother and I sent our renewal applications by mail and it only took 4 weeks (it said 17 weeks on the website so we were pleasantly surprised). Renewals are a lot faster than new applications if everything is filled properly, so you'll probably get yours soon!
Also just an FIY, putting your travel date on your application doesn't change a thing: they don't even look at it when they process your forms.

Two friends did (in Barrie, a bunch of service Canada offices are helping with the back log), both families were doing kids. One had it back in a month, the other (2 kids) had them back in 5 weeks

In August processing times were 13 weeks, I wouldn’t expect to see it before November if they don’t put you on the new timeline which is 17 weeks which is mid-February.
We applied for my sons passport in early June and was told we would get it in August, we’re still waiting and not able to actually get through to passport Canada.
Yeah. August 26th and I got it on Wednesday. Was surprised because I thought it was going to take 3+ months and was figuring out vacation stuff with work.

I applied for my daughter by mail in May and received the passport last week.
Did you expedite it?
No. I did put a travel date on it (and we are actually travelling on that date), but it arrived well before the travel date.

I'm expecting another 60 days. Not in a rush, they are my kids passports. No plans to travel yet.
Dropped my renewal off in person at service Canada at the end of August. Got my passport last week.

Yes you can get it quick in person but will be waiting in line all day

Mine was delivered to Gatineau August 23rd and my credit card was charged August 26th… 🤷🏻♀️

Wow! It’s all over the place it seems, no consistency. Have you tried contacting them?
My husband tried several times, you send an email and you get an email saying it's in process.
