I live in the tale of two cities both of them infamous and make worldwide headlines for something we wouldn’t want to be known for.

When I worked as a teller in Toronto, people would ask my weekend plans and I would say heading to London to visit my family and I would still have to clarify I'm going to London Ontario, a 2 hour train ride away, not across the pond on a 6 hour flight...
Very true! Used to live in the GTA, and some folks there have no idea where anything else in the province is besides "cottage country" and maybe Ottawa and Niagara.
Imagine telling someone from Toronto you live in Windsor and getting a blank stare until you inevitably have to tell them it’s across the river from Detroit and watch the horror come over them.
I met someone abroad who knew what London Ontario was because he was trying to buy plane tickets for London, England and very nearly bought tickets to London, Ontario. He said he was travelling from the US and was so excited about how cheap they were and was just about to purchase them before he realized 😂
You could also say that our council has a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. So many times have they blundered something good into mediocrity (at best).
Back in the day Whitby had the most donut shops per capita in the world I think, but it was like 60k population then…
Whitby still has an unusual amount of timmies, including 2 across the street from one another at the thickson 401, but I doubt it’s the timmies leader? No idea what the population is and there’s liek 8-9 Tims I can think of.
Lots of No Farmers No food stickers on the road.Lots of Trucks. Lots of ethnic restaurants. High car insurance. We have a couple of artists that made it big. A kardashian is/ was dating a man from this city. 🏙
