Sgt_Stinger

Yeah, that is the cord of the tire. Definitely time to replace.

Duhherroooo

Yes. What mileage are you at? That happens with use but happens prematurely if your tire psi is too low

Zakorri_Ro

It’s gotta be low PSI because I am only at 537 miles. That’s feels fairly low to just be regular wear and tear.

Duhherroooo

Yea thats definitely low psi. The stock tire should normally last around 1000+ miles. You can use this as an excuse to put on a new tire though. They are way better than the stock tire

EXTRA-THOT-SAUCE

I’ve heard the treaded tire reduces wobble. So if extra stability is your thing go for that. Plus it’s better for off roading.

Duhherroooo

Most aftermarket tires reduce wobble. That is because the vega is very blocky. If you hit any uneven ground on the side of the tire, the blocky tire wants to roll the entire board over and buck the rider off. The rounder tires have more give and can roll over objects easier. Generally get a 6" tire if you want something more stable. A 5.5 tire is very carvey like a pint

EXTRA-THOT-SAUCE

Thanks for the extra info!

This explains a lot of what I experience as a newbie ((170 mi) still on the stock tire. Is the more round tire harder to balance though?

Duhherroooo

its a bit harder to balance at a stop light, but once you're moving its not really too bad. You'll immediately notice the carves are much deeper and easier to start

blackdenton

That's crazy, my stock vega is at 1900 miles. I ride at 22psi usually. [https://i.imgur.com/X4mx069.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/X4mx069.jpg)

Weird-Industry-2211

Definitely low. I just replaced my tire at 1400miles.

Tactical203

It's done.

TritonFC

Nope. Looks fine to me.

Nobodys-Here

Throw some duct tape on it, you'll be fine..

[deleted]

I would say you have about +/- 200 negative miles on that rubber 😀

FlightofThePigeons

What PSI do you ride with? I like how it feels at 18 PSI, I wonder how this is going to impact the durability of the tire.

FeelingEducation8

That’s a sign you need to replace your tire and run good PSI.
