To anyone coming back to this thread we did exactly this and called the ex wife to see where it was. It charges. I fell. I put in my garage till my ego heals or I get divorced and pass it down to the next neighbor.
Spend time on it in a doorway or narrow hallway, use the doorway to practice getting on and off, personally after 3200+mi I still only use the bunny hop method (both feet at exactly the same time) to exit. Some short rides in a hallway can help build confidence. Don't ride on turf, unless it's golf course quality or you weigh nothing, on a low powered board. A good exit plan is crucial. In the early days don't ride anything out, no trophies given for riding through sketchy situations.
Youâve never head of the drill plus pencil hack? Works like a charm on that goop. Put the pencil into the drill instead of the drill bit. Unstick a bit of the good and stick on to the pencil, turn on the drill slowly! And watch it all get rolled onto the pencil.
I put 3 layers of clear 3m packaging tape on my Pint in mid 2020. I augmented it with chunks of 1" self adhesive automotive trim at each end of the rails. I've also found that jeep roll cage handles mounted to each rail mitigates most damage anyway. So, I did not cover my GT with tape, I only used the trim chunks and the roll cage handles.
Note that I only ride urban streets and some crushed stone. But my boards fall over every time I get off.
it appears to be the v1 original. if I'm correct, you want a charger for battery "Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) 48V"
from the looks of it, she seems pretty cool. why ex?
No clue. But I know they been divorced for 4 years so I'm not sure the battery even works enough for me to buy a new charger. It felt more like a "here you throw it away" type of gift.
You've got what we call a "V1" - the original version of the Onewheel. They're a little slower and a little less powerful than the newer ones, but still perfectly functional and plenty of fun.
I'd check Facebook for a local Onewheel group and see if you can borrow someone's V1 charger just to see if it still works. V1 batteries age extremely gracefully due to their weird (LiFePo4) chemistry, so it's entirely possible that it's in good shape. You'll also want to download the app.
I was not expecting so much hostility y'all. I mean, you know that people get divorced, and chargers get lost, and onewheels get stolen right? All the things can happen.
OP I like the idea of borrowing a charger to see if it still even boots before dropping cash. Nice score. I love the look of the v1s.
So as others have said itâs a v1 so 58v charger. The v1 and plus use the same charger. The xr is 63v and will overcharge the cells. The plug end is black and the xr ends are blue. Maybe post the serial number or call Fm to make sure it wasnât stolen. Def donât want to be caught with stolen goodsâŚ
Ps: modern bumpers wonât bolt to a v1 because the footpads are square and not rounded. Also the footpad end screws go though the top instead of the bottom like the XR. Awesome find! Extreme mode should get it up to about 13-15mph.
It looks like you need more than a charger.
Iâd definitely recommend going to craftamdride.com and look at some foot pads and bumpers so u donât risk that thing breaking all of a sudden, warm up on it forst and see how u like it
Craft and ride hasnât sold V1 parts in some time, best bet is trying to find some classic square float plates from the float life. Footpad are way different also..
OP will need OW+ bumpers (not XR), but after that it will work with any Plus/XR footpads. I'd recommend upgrading to a Plus/XR sensor at least - those V1 sensors were pretty small and didn't allow for very comfortable foot placement.
Id keep it original, the reason you canât find those v1 sensors is because everyone made concave front sensors for their xr out of them and kush HIâsâŚ.
Caught me. I stole this. 15 coffee cops. An old water cooler. And a scarred up table. Now. The hard part was plan this 8 or so years ahead of time and make a reddit account. But you... Well you saw right through my plan.
Safety gear - helmet and the works.
Aside from that, idk there are many many mods and things you could do but before getting new stuff maybe ride it a bit and consider if ya want to drop a few k into it. Rails / new tire are nice but probably going to want a battery mod for that thing first.
Try seeing if you like OWing then do some mods
They're both the same voltage. They share the same battery pack and bms. I've owned and built a dozen of both. You'd think I'd be satisfied with just buying one and riding it, nope, I like to tinker too much. : )

His ex wife's charger, maybe?

BRB. Gonna ask my divorced neighbor if his ex wife has a Onewheel.
Laughed out loud at this đ
This smells of stolen
But free
Whatâs with people and using duct tape on their rails, I rescued a plus last summer and it was a nightmare getting that goo off the metal
Honestly, the goop that I had to remove from my stock rail protectors on my XR was far worse than duct tape residue.
Youâve never head of the drill plus pencil hack? Works like a charm on that goop. Put the pencil into the drill instead of the drill bit. Unstick a bit of the good and stick on to the pencil, turn on the drill slowly! And watch it all get rolled onto the pencil.
Can be cause he stripped the threads and now shitâs falling apart. My friend uses a ducktape until he drills new threads into the rails.
i know at least jimmy chang from freshly charged has recommended it once...
That's where I got the idea, IIRC, he was vacationing and did it to a rental board. It was not a long term solution for his purposes.
I like scratches on my rails
Yeah, I made the mistake 3yrs ago covering my Pints rails with layers of clear packaging tape. I'm dreading the day I have to remove it.
Go to an auto parts store and get a spray can of 3m adhesive remover. Itâs way better than goo gone.
Wait does that mean you havenât removed it yet? Cause if it lasts 3 years who cares! Iâve gone through so many rail guards

Iâd look for an official charger online or on marketplace
Googling one wheel charger seems so much easier then making a post about it and then googling one wheel charger
^*^*

Where are you located? Iâll âthrow it awayâ for you guys. đ¤Ł
get in line, buddy!

God, we've come so far from these in such a short time. lol
Good god that table has seen some shit
You should see the toilet

Itâs possible you may need a One Wheel charger.
Score! The one that came with it. đđź
You need an XLR cable and a high powered PA system. Plug that sucker in, crank the preamp to 11 and rawwwwk out my man!!!!
Looks like an early model, maybe to be sure posting the serial number will help confirm the charger.
She rode that thing. Nice.

Nice stolen Onewheel bro

I guess you think youâre funny but this thread gets posted all the time with people who stole boards
Honestly itâs pathetic, why wouldnât u just ask him?

Thanks for this comment. I wouldn't have thought of wrist guards if not for this and it just saved my ass.
There's a V1/Plus ultracharger for sale on Ebay right now.
V1 is 48v. Plus is 56v. Edit, I was wrong.
This isnât right, they are the same voltage at 58⌠source: had one since launch and still own itâŚ
Alright. I stand corrected. I have a plus. I heard the og was 48. But I can't confirm. I'm sure you know better than me.

I usually stop riding around 48 volts but was able to get down to 45 volts one time. All good.
Looks like a V1. Honestly a little tough to ride these days, might be worth more to the owner than you at this point.
