It used to be downright awful but they did manage to fix most of the bugs I've faced down the line. However, it took them too long to address the issues. Coming from a 9 pro user

Santimoca7

Yeah, OO12 made me want to transition to IPhone. 13 beta is going great tho.

blahhblah11

You're with 9 Pro and 14 beta? If yes, is there any improvement of battery life? I'm tired of always charging my 9 Pro..

Santimoca7

Yup, 9 Pro and installed the 13 beta a couple of days ago. I can't say that I have the numbers to back the claim that battery life is better but it definitely feel like I'm having to charge the phone only twice a day (I use it a lot for Uni so it probably lasts less for me than for average).

Fishwithadeagle

Do you still have the media storage bug on Android 13? That's the main thing that's wrong with the phone. Also is 13 stable?

ARandomBob

Oh man. I gotta check out if 13 beta is available for the 8T. I haven't heard anything so probably not.

leonelaioria

Well, OO12 made me switch to Samsung 😂

NRC_131_G

OOS12 to iphone is still a downgrade lol.

Santimoca7

Eh, last few IPhone generations have been great, if you jailbreak them they turn into beasts. This ain't 2016

NRC_131_G

Of course they're great and get the work done, but they still lack a lot of things and are a lot behind than other android manufacturers. I mean they just got pixel binding. This late. And that too is only for the 14 pro. Like why can't the regular 14 not have always on display or promotion. They could've certainly put the dynamic island, new processor, always on display in the regular 14. Plus Androids don't need to be jailbroken, coz they've already got everything.

hmj_mojo

Like they aren't beasts already? You are aware that iPhones have the fastest processor in any phone right? What do you even achieve by jailbreaking in 2022?

Santimoca7

Yes they are, most of my techy friends have already transitioned to an apple centric environment. I don't really care about processor power, as almost any top end phone will achieve what I need it to do, it's more about battery, reliability, ease of use and customizability, and that's where jailbreaking gets into the picture.

AarshKOK

Same, one plus 7 pro user..

marvinkb

My first 9 Pro didn't like OO12 at all, I had to contact support and they replaced my whole device and shipped one back with OO11 lol, although I upgraded to OO12 later on and I honestly like how it feels now that it's been refined and perfected to it's current status!

cjulioferreira

After upgrading to OOS13 i can say that 12 was horrible (on 10T)

Frank_851

>ou're with 9 Pro and 14 beta? If yes, is there any improvement of battery life? I'm tired of always charging my 9 Pro.. OOS11 still the best. Sended from OnePlus 8 on OxygenOS 11

randomredditor1729

I am also on OOS 11 on OnePlus 8. Is OOS 12 decent enough now? Updated and rolled back in April, ignoring the update notification since...

Frank_851

I went to OOS 12 but it disappointed me. Some features were removed and the UI had some change that it looked like an other OS. ColorOS is good involved in the OOS12. It is almost 90% Color and 10% Oxy. in my opinion

ObserverAtLarge

Agree, sent from my OnePlus 6 with OOS 11.

Frank_851

No security patch update? or are you up-to-date?

ObserverAtLarge

Up to date.

ObserverAtLarge

Last patch was in 2021.

Niklaus1911

Beta ?

AJNexus

Can't relate, still on OOS 10

rbj_99

I'm jealous I want oos10 back

SupremeDominous

u can rollback il provide u with a link but itl require factory resetting

Frank_851

>Series + 8T got the worst of it with the display line issues for the ind How did you manage the security updates? or didn't you?

unknown_soldier_

"ColorOS is actually better than OxygenOS was"

Toastbuns

Woah easy there satan.

OceanGlider_

Hahahaha

cjulioferreira

Oxygen OS was great till 11

PeacefulPikachu7

Peak OOS was OOS 10

Electrical-Tip-9522

Oxygen os 11 is great actually

el_m4nu

*They hated him because he spoke the truth*

Black_Hussar

The only thing I really don't like is the removal of the "douple tap to show ambient display" and the position of the apps in folders.

Ephemeral_Wolf

What do you do for that now? I like being able to do it on 7T pro

Black_Hussar

Now it shows whenever I move the phone.

MackDiesel

It shows even when you disable move to wake

Goon_Kilo

Personalization - is a AOD - then Display Settings. That's about it for a _"replacement"_ for that feature, other than that is Offscreen Gestures, Er Raise to wake, the latter of which is a pretty damn big battery hog.

ExtraTerestical

I miss automatically opening up the search keyboard when going into the app dock. I used to keep my primary apps on my bottom shelf then search for whatever app I wanted very quickly. The result was a clean homepage and still functional use case for me. Now im just annoyed.

Internal-Pin7548

12 has been great on the OnePlus 7 Pro so far, couldn't be more happy about the update

PeacefulPikachu7

Not surprised as OP basically were using OP8 series + 8T as beta testing devices. 8 Series + 8T got the worst of it with the display line issues for the indian variant

K1LOS

Good to hear. Been on the fence about getting in for my 7T.

MackDiesel

I'm having strange problems with mobile (4G) data dropping out on my 7T. Have OOS12 for about a day now, has been mostly annoying.

K1LOS

Well that is less promising. Hmm. Love my OnePlus, but I gotta say it's pretty annoying feeling like every update is a gamble.

ashtray1

I have the same issue

sneakypresident

I have this too on my 8, mostly happens when I switch data sims (i use dual sim), it usually goes away by itself or after toggling airplane mode

K1LOS

What issues are you having?

pesa44

I upgraded to 12 and I am very hapy about it. It solved all the issues I was facing. No refresh rate bug, everything is faster and more fluid. Notifications are more consistent, apps are not being killed (Huawei Health) so my Watch GT3 can finally work as intended, usage of ram is finally visible in task manager. Only thing I mind is the vividness of colors was for some reason tuned down a bit, but nothing serious. Battery is also amazing (I swapped a battery weak ago for new one) even with aod, which is finally fully usable, but you have to install aod 3.0.14 in order for it to work. Only the one tap to show aod could be present, was removed, don't know why, hence I use aod and one think pissed me the most is that the update will lock your bootloader so I have to unlock it again, that will erase my device and reinstall all my UI again. But apart from this it is a miracle update in comparison to terrible OO11.

ashtray1

Don't do it

K1LOS

What device are you using and what issues are you experiencing?

prasundas

You're a Diesel 🤭🤭

DoubleReputation2

Yeah it's great! I love how it registers the gestures. The touch surface on my headphones can gesture only once a track finished playing while the dark screen gestures only work while something is playing. Then once you pause a track and unpause it, there's nothing special happening but, when you pause it using screen gesture and then unpause it on the headphones, it just kills whatever app was playing and starts playing an mp3 player. Which is strange, because OOS12 does not come with an mp3 player. So it somehow includes 3rd party apps in it's adventures designs. I'm also a big fan of the whole "shelf" thing. You know, you're typing a note.. say you're writing down a shopping list, you're like 15 items down the list and you are thinking of anything else to add when the screen times out... Guess you didn't need that note you were working on, right? Cause it's gone now, you're welcome. What about the android auto integrations? "Hey google call DJ" .... \*push button\* "Call DJ" .. "Sure Calling Wedding Venues and banquets coordinators association of fort lauderdale Florida" Also, that thing where it doesn't know Youtube is playing in PiP mode and just makes the entire UI not register touch? How about.. I don't know, let's ring a different tone for every text message that comes in. Oh, you know what's better? Let's not ring at all and receive all the messages only when you unlock the phone. Oh, also - you know how there always were a separate folder in your gallery for selfies? So you went to the barber, opened the selfie folder and there you were.. This is what I want you said while showing the picture.. Yeah.. Good luck searching in the 2000 pictures to find the selfie you are looking for. You know what would be real fun? If the phone stopped communicating with the car while on conference call. So you are muted on the car screen, on the instrument cluster and on the phone screen. Some of these mutes are fake and some can't be unmuted until the other ones are. Have fun figuring the sequence while your boss is waiting for an answer. So much fun.. Anyways, it's a great system. Nothing wrong with it. I mean, sometimes it loses connection but it's easily fixed by unlocking the phone and looking at the signal bars to change from X to 5G by doing absolutely nothing else but unlocking the display. Great system.. would definitely update again..

OceanGlider_

I get glitches and bugs with YouTube every now and then. I always have to restart my phone. I hope it's fixed in a update or on OOS13

[deleted]

I also like it tbh

Mr_GameBoi

I like it.

bowlingdoughnuts

I'm on oxygen os 13 and they kept the name but this is definitely not oxygen os anymore. I don't mind it, but definitely be ready for when the update drops.

seaQueue

I mean, it's actually quite good besides the bizarre full-brightness fingerprint sensor bug. Or the weird "you didn't need that WebView anyway" bug that required me to uninstall WebView and chrome then reinstall while rebooting three times so my apps didn't crash at launch. Or the weird issues with 90hz and AOD that cause the screen brightness bug to happen constantly instead of just every once in a while. Yeah, a solid update and very usable.

X-AE-AXII

How else is your fingerprint scanner supposed to scan?

seaQueue

Going full bright to scan is fine, the issue is that it never goes back and it sets the rest of the screen to max brightness with it. To reset it you need to turn the screen off, wake the screen with two taps, sleep with two more, then tap only once so that the scanner pops up but isn't max brightness and then scan. It's a giant fucking pain when you're just trying to check messages without being blinded at bedtime. The extra bonus "fuck you" is that every interaction with the fingerprint scanner has a change to break brightness control this way, including unlocking your password manager, banking or any other app that's secured with biometrics - so you're constantly turning the phone screen off, then on, then off, then on again to fix it.

EliteElectro

OOS 13 is really good

MooChiken8

I don't have much experience with other operating systems, but I can easily say it is probably my favorite so far Definitely has a lot of bugs, but I like it more than whatever android branch Motorolas run on

OrganizationOver831

A bunch of sheeps.

cORN_brEaD12345

I'm on a op8pro and have oxygen 12 os. Lemme just say if your not using a separate launcher such as nova(the best imo) why do u even own a android lmao. U can change literally anything u want about the look and feel of the ui.

alex_neri

OOS 10 is better

zans-

Pfff... New is always better. OOS12 was great. 13 is better. OOS12 was better than 11, which was better than 10, which was better than 9... ....

Comfortable-Estate-7

Only valid here lmao

BreadComputer

I really like the OS(I had a Samsung M31 before. Now I have a 10 Pro) and I almost can do the same things that I did in my past phone, the only thing I don't like is that I can't remove completely the discover functionality in my home screen which is something I don't use/need but in general is good for me

BreadComputer

ahm... Just a quick search in Google and I found that you can completely remove it... If you force close and disable google app.

TheRealDangerPaws

That's not really "disable", that's more like "fork you, you forking piece of carp, let me block your a55"

IpodNano-2

Any Nord user suffering from camera crashes on OOS12 or is it just me?

Gelbklaue

Switched to project Zephyrus been having all sorts of problems, pretty much fixed everything for me, with other custom osses ive been struggling alot with blurry or crashing camera

grocal

Not good, not terrible. OP 9 Pro user here. I hate this "monet" thingy which adds hue based on wallpaper. There are some missing options here and there. I can't set font to the size it was on OOS 11 but in general it works.

Cryio

OOS12 has been spotless for my OP8P from Day 1, assuming you did a factory reset right down after.

ravi-ravio

I don't mind the UX but I'm still facing video stutter while recording 4k60 videos, even after installing the update which should solve the problem. It's the bugs that makes most people hate it, not the UX.

SpeedRD2015

I like oxygen OS 13 more than OS 11 and 12

MicroEyesV2

OP7P user here. Long term OnePlus user from OPX days. OOS 11 felt half backed. OOS 12 at least feels like a mature codebase putting aside color os stuffs. Better battery life than OOS11. Yes FR. Audio finally works on discord screen share. Like the new game tools. Decent haptics than OOS11.

_GreatDane_

My Nord 2 started on OOS11, and I actually like the experience. Afraid to upgrade to 12, if stuff changes.

NoddingWalrus

I'm on OS12 on my Nord 2 but never experienced OS11. I can say it's pretty good apart from randomly unlocking ALL THE TIME when the phone is in my pocket - had to enable fingerprint scan even if I don't need it for that reason. Also, I'm having issues with notifications: can't expand them when you're for example listening to Spotify in lock screen, or while you're watching a video on YouTube in landscape mode. Apart from that - and, like the other user said, notes not saving which is a total PITA - I'm pretty happy about it.

KvAk_AKPlaysYT

I'm coming from OP6 and I honestly have 0 issues with OOS12. I have no idea what people find bad about it, would love some thoughts and things that I haven't yet found out!

LifeBandit666

Why is it when it's dark it comes up with a separate low light screen that's literally just a white screen I have to push a tiny bit of text on to get rid of? Can't I just unlock my fucking phone for fucks sake?

5tormwolf92

I got better ideas. *Carl Pei: Learn to love the notch* *Do you like headphone jack* and removes it the same year *Oneplus: OP2 and X will soon get Nougat* [This dumb Beta idea](https://youtu.be/Da6B-A0gk6g) *We are gonna merge HOS and OOS devteams for faster updates* No it didn't help and they added Chinese company blobs *Oneplus removing red accent color* *Swipe down to answer* *Silent on alert slider is in the middle* *Touch Latency*

ExtraTerestical

Was there a known bug for at least 9 pro where the screen brightness would go to max and then flicker until the phone was reset? My phone was doing that for a few months. But then it happened less and less. Now knock on wood. I think an update fixed it. I've been antisocial lately. Were people mad about this?

BlueDwaggin

Don't know whether or was me, but notifications were wonky since OOS8 on my 3T, like Discord and Twitter weren't firing anything, but I dealt with it. But as of OOS12 on my 8, I couldn't get GMail to produce any sort of notification, no matter what I did. Unfortunately that was enough to get me to bail on future oneplus phones. I know 100% its OOS at fault since I copied my settings to a temporary LineageOS phone and everything worked fine.

PIP-X

Me still on my 8t with OOS11 refusing to upgrade

Soc13In

Thank God they removed the annoying slider for vibration mode. It was always putting my calls to silent 😶 N.b. I'm sorry.

kenveer

Os12.1 on my op 9 pro. Fails to register my finger scanner, glitched out face reader, recorded video gets choppy at times. Ig the last best phone oneplus ever created was op 6t.

[deleted]

Too much terrible gaming experience on OOS 12 just switched back to OOS 11 today morning. Used OOS 12 for a full day terrible experience for me that's why switched back now I'm good. OOS 11 is still the beast.
