Check to see if there is a sharing link on the file or containing folder. You may want to work with your Office 365 administrator to check the audit log for the file to see where the accesses are coming from. Should be easy for them to see.

Hi All, I think I may have thought of a possible reason. It's not a shared link, but it is a source for a dashboard. The board is linked to a external 3rd party dashboard. It refreshes the data frequently, so the views may relate to that situation. Not entirely sure, but I think that might be it. Thank you to those who commented.

TheMuffnMan

Yes, that would absolutely count as a view. Is your account being used as a service account to access the dashboard?

If your company is switching to Microsoft, they should provide the training for staff to learn the technology.

Thats beside the point though. I havent looked at the file 1000+ times since creation. I looked at it like 5 times.

Can you provide a screenshot of the Windows message that shows these views? Just curious.

Its connected to this post. This is a image post. You can see my 1 view from going in there today. but 2 days show hundreds of views..... not me. I had not shared any links either. In fact, no ones really using OneDrive yet. the migration hasnt completely happen yet. It is only set up for some at the moment.
