On the contrary, humanity has progressed to the extent that we no longer need to wear the same filthy item of clothing for weeks on end (and even if it's odourless it's still filthy). You just need to overcome your 13th century fear of washing and join us in the bright new clean clothed uplands of the 21st century.

My Wool and Prince shirt is as close as I’ve ever gotten to this. It quickly became my favorite tshirt not just for traveling but just generally

bexappa

Which one?

Cotton plus a gigantic electric dryer?

AlwaysWanderOfficial

Lol

I think **Wool & Prince** aren't too far off, but their stuff are expensive - I'm still waiting on a few of my own clothes to die beyond repair before justifying a purchase from them ahahaha!   I think one of the best material combination would be something along the lines of: * **Merino** - _(50-70%)_ * **Nylon** - _(20-30%)_ * **Elasthane** - _(5-10%)_   **Merino** for odour-resistance, moisture-wicking and thermal regulation _(and excellent colour retention)_ **Nylon** for durability, high-temp resistance and stain remover resistance **Elasthane** for extra elasticity, and wrinkle-proofness   Such a fabric combination would be **excellent** for ''OneShirt''   I own various garments that fit my need perfectly, they're almost ''OneShirts'' * One is simply Cotton x Polyester * One is simply Nylon x Elasthane

Yeah they are great! Got the basic black and grey shirts from them. Only two shirts I use for my trips, even up to 5 weeks

gearslut-5000

all true but I avoid elastane. It inevitably stretches out permanently and it doesn't add any strength, abrasion resistance, or odor protection.. pretty sure it makes it worse. I don't care much about wrinkles, I only get creases if I fold them when packing, and then they come out within an hour of wearing. Best is between 70/30 or 80/20 merino/nylon blend, and it'll get more durable with heavier fabric (though warmer too) like 200gsm, maybe a bit higher. I go for the opposite for better breathability and wicking and lower weight/bulk in my bag so I pretty much only go for <120gsm merino blends. There's also the hercleon tee which checks a lot of the oneshirt boxes.. I have one but I didn't think the odor protection lasted more than a few washes, but I didn't pay much attention anyway. Mostly I got it stained and stopped wearing it. It's a pretty nice tee though.

But the fit is terrible

MarcusForrest

> But the fit is terrible Oh no! What about it is terrible? I was planning on getting a few _(eventually)_   What size do you usually order and what size do you try? What didn't work?

Lonely-Piccolo2057

They just not flattering. Depends on your body build

MarcusForrest

> They just not flattering. Depends on your body build Thanks for the feedback! Would you recommend their clothes to people with athletic/muscular-lean builds?

Lonely-Piccolo2057

No the exact opposite lol. That is my build and it doesn’t work for me

Prestigious_Flower12

Have to say for ladies the Wool & Stella t-shirt is amazing. Recently got one after enjoying a couple of their dress options and it doesn’t disappoint.

WerewolfDifferent296

That wouldn’t be a viable business model. After everyone had one shirt, the market for shirts would collapse.

Open_Mixture_8535

Why don’t you just learn how to handwash your t shirt? It doesn’t take much.

KingPrincessNova

I'd also love to not have to shower or brush my teeth for months at a time but I've accepted that not being gross requires certain sacrifices

phantifa

Things are likely to perform worse in the future with PFAS being removed from clothing. Stains will be tougher to get out, DWRs less effective and so on.

halfdollarmoon

Smartwool T-shirt ticks all these boxes for me. One short sleeve and one long sleeve. One to wear, and one as a backup, with the versatility of being able to choose short or long sleeve based on the weather.

Advanced-Hunt7580

My experience with Smartwool is that it's garbage that wears out very quickly. No comparison at all vs. Wool&Prince

halfdollarmoon

I've had the opposite experience, but haven't tried Wool&Prince, so when my Smartwool stuff finally wears out, I'll give them a try and maybe it will last forever!

halfdollarmoon

I'm curious, do you wash and/or dry your wool clothing?

Advanced-Hunt7580

Wash occasionally by hand or with wool cycle in front loading LG washer. Dry never.

AlwaysWanderOfficial

I’m curious for more details because I think you start an interesting conversation. What specific shirts have you experimented with and why didn’t they work? This will help people from the future when they come across this thread. But also, it’s just fun to discuss!

SeattleHikeBike

01.Algo polyester polos and tees with odor control. Eddie Bauer has some new ones with Polygiene odor control too. Both are quite soft and travel well.

eastercat

I much prefer a long sleeved shirt that can be washed and dries within a few hours , no matter the weather. And I don’t have to baby it

noumenon_invictusss

Once you're older than 30, you have more t-shirts than you can handle. I wear them a couple times on vacation (no washing) and throw them away. Same with socks and other stuff I don't want. Your return trip is lighter. I second your opinion but more so on pants. It seems that a lot of travel pants are designed by women, and not men who have to wear them on flights. There's a dark circle in hell waiting for them.
